Today we will talk about three different play modes on alpha test. Let’s go through all of them:
BATTLE ROYALE SOLO
Up to 60 hunters in one vast battlefield. Only one hunter can survive. Once all players are gathered at the central village you will have 30 seconds to prepare. After that, the village’s gates will open and you get additional 60 seconds before battle starts & monsters appear.
During this time, make sure to prepare your survival strategy. You will face several options to choose from:
Once battle starts, you can go outside the village, hide & ambush careless rivals.
Use the glider to reach a place with no other hunters around. Level-up, collect items and make your character grow stronger.
Carefully watch all the players that move within the village.
(After the extra 60 seconds, you can fight inside the village but be aware of the mighty village guards. They can be quite challenging, when your level is low.)
As time goes by the map will get smaller as the barrier will start shrinking. After 30 minutes, the map will become incredibly small.
In the end, not a single enemy or ally will remain. Sometimes, in order to kill a powerful boss, you might need to work together with other hunters, but you can betray them any moment. Remember, in the world of Hunter’s Arena both betrayal & cooperation coexist on the same battlefield. Always stand your guard.
BATTLE ROYALE TRIO
This mode is similar to Solo Mode, only this time, you will be a part of a 3-member team. With 20 teams competing against each other, the last remaining team will be the winner.
Unlike Solo Mode, Trio Mode requires teamwork & strategic thinking when selecting a character. A good strategy is too quickly figure out each character’s strengths and weaknesses, and create a balanced team of characters that complement each other. Remember that in the Solo Mode you can join forces with other hunters as well to defeat a powerful boss and get some good items.
Also, Trio Mode allows you to resurrect your teammates if they die. Go to one of the resurrection altars that are scattered around the map & use a resurrection item. Therefore, in order to win, your team should come up with a strategy, and be more proactive. Try things like stealing items from opposing teams that will make your team stronger.
Synergy between the characters, strategy, and teamplay are the key elements of Trio Mode.
TAG MATCH
In Tag Mode, each player selects 2 characters. There will be 3 battle rounds and the first player to win 2 rounds is the winner. You will compete against another player on a map that is full of surprises. You can use the Tag key to switch between characters. Tagging can be used to switch your character while low on HP or to create Tag Combos.
If neither you nor your opponent manages to get a “K.O.” in a 100 second timeframe, the winner will be determined by the amount of remaining HP each character has. This mode allows you to enjoy shorter battles compared to Trio Mode & Solo Mode.
Three game modes will be available during the alpha test. Additional modes are still under development. For further updates, news & information about future Alpha tests, please visit our Steam page often.
Thank you.

#2 Writer's Arena
Greetings!
Today we are going to learn about the world of [Hunter’s Arena: Legends]. We had a Q & A session with Barim, the main scriptwriter of the game.
Q1. Please introduce yourself.
Hello, I’m Barim, who is in charge of writing the main script of [Hunter’s Arena: Legends]. Everything related to the world’s background story and concept design is under my responsibility.
Q2. Many people are curious about the story of Hunter’s Arena. We know that it is based on the famous Chinese novel “The Creation of The Gods (or Fengshen Yanyi / 封神演义 in Chinese)”. Can you give us some more details?
Hunter’s Arena takes place after the events told in the novel, where all demons are sealed off. Achieving peace wasn’t an easy task. However, someone broke the Demons Tombstone and put the human kingdom in great danger, once again. Thus, the hunters will choose whether to join forces based on their personal goals & beliefs.
We have reimagined the different elements of the original “The Creation of The Gods” so that you may see the world of Hunter’s Arena as a whole new world. Of course, not knowing anything about the novel is totally fine. We use many storytelling mechanisms. So once you play the game, you will naturally have a better understanding about the world, the hunters, their goals and beliefs. The game features both original characters from the novel as well as a whole new set of characters. There is a lot to look forward to. Also, don’t miss the prologue video coming soon!
Q3. What is a storytelling mechanism?
It’s a type of content. Storytelling through NPCs or Quests was challenging due to the genre’s characteristics. So we tried to use all kinds of methods to make the players naturally immersed in the story. Some people may be like “they went that far?”, but I would consider it is a good reaction. It means that even in the midst of an intense fight, you can still appreciate the mise-en-scène and discover its meaning.
Q4. What do you think is the most important thing in this process of scriptwriting?
Asian concept and the cause-and-effect relations between events mean a lot in the game. Hunter’s Arena follows the time and place of the previously mentioned famous Asian novel. Thus the overall ‘Look & Feel’ is in line with that Asian style. Our goal is to preserve the original Asian charm while trying to recreate things in a more Korean manner.
In particular, when a character's story is connected to some elements in the game, it is important to think about the relationship this character has with others, and how they are affected by it. A while ago, I expected the whole process would be simple. However, as time went by, I found myself tracing back to the characters’ birth to check all the cause-and-effect relations. With those character relations in mind, we are also working on the timeline of events in the game as well as the whole story.
Q5. Is there any special episode or a character that you are personally attached to?
That would be Tau. He may look like an animal, but as soon as I learned about his past and personality, I was moved. His past was quite traumatic and made his already shy personality even more fragile. Not only was he deprived of freedom, he was also isolated and lonely, feeling that he didn’t belong in the world of humans. He did manage to overcome it all, but I still feel bad for everything he had to go through.
Q6. Is there anything else you would like to say to those waiting for Hunter’s Arena?
I really appreciate that a lot of fans are waiting for our game with high expectations. I promise we won’t let you down. Hopefully, as soon as the game comes out, our fans will love playing it while enjoying the stories of characters and the world.
So how was it? Did you manage to get some information about Hunter’s Arena’s story? Stay tuned for more news!
I was told by other hunters that a cinematic video of Hunter's Arena
is in the making. It is said to be made from the actual game engine & will demonstrate some of the game's combat mechanics.
I can sense the horrifying demons getting closer.
Once they are here, we need all the help we can get.
Make sure to stay updated with all the news about
Hunter's Arena so you can join the hunt as soon as possible.
A good place to start is to add Hunter's Arena to your #STEAM WISHLIST
