HyperLeague Heroes

Archetypes, Save Slots, & Requests

Here's what's been added to HyperLeague Heroes since the last announcement.

Save Slots

Want to start from scratch? If you've been playing for a while you may want a fresh start since new features are constantly being added. Or maybe you want to try out different setups without committing in your main save. Now you can have up to 5 saves.

Archetypes

In one of my favorite recent updates, units can now be given archetypes which are specific behaviors that further customize the way your team battles.

  • Leader - all status effects applied to this unit are passed on to all teammates
  • Defender - unit is unable to use regular attacks but takes 60% less damage
  • Berserker - unit is unable to use special attacks but critical hit rate is increased by +10%
  • Gadgeteer - using items instantly readies this unit's special attacks
  • Medic - unit heals weakest teammate each turn but becomes unable to use regular attacks
  • Survivor - unit survives with 1 hp and gains 15 seconds invincibility when hp > 1 and hit by an attack that would k.o.
  • Apprentice - unit is unable to use regular attacks but gains 2x exp
  • Rusher - unit deals and receives 30% more damage
  • Ghost - unit won't be targeted by enemies unless there are no other possible targets
  • Lone wolf - attack +50% when this unit is the only active hero in the party

Archetypes are unlocked by logging in. They can be assigned to units from the Party menu or by right-clicking in battle and selecting an archetype from the details panel.

Requests

Previously you were limited to 5 requests per day. Now you can take on an unlimited number of requests which means tons of loot and rewards are at your fingertips to speed up your progression.

Spring roadmap coming soon. I'm currently playing FF7 Rebirth so taking a little break. :)

v6.6.1

-Added new tutorials to the manual

v6.6 - New Archetype Mechanic

-Units can be assigned archetypes which change their gameplay style. Archetypes can turns units into medics, defenders, berserkers, etc. 10 archetypes are currently unlockable

v6.5

-New in-battle menu to track progress during runs (stat increases and items collected)
-For new players: units can be recruited during mid-battle in the early game to improve pacing

v6.4 - Save Slots

-Added multiple save slots so you can have up to 5 saves

v6.3

-Removed daily limits on requests, an unlimited number can now be completed each day to aid with progression
-An option to warp to the dungeon where a request can be completed has been added

v6.2 - Accessibility & Dark Lord Boss Fight

It can be a bit daunting trying to keep track of all of HLH's systems. To remedy that, HLH v6.2 introduces real-time suggestions on what you can do to power up your squad to their full potential. From the main menu and in battle, the new Call Proxy option will show you a list of recommendations based on your current progress.

Additionally, you can see an estimate of how prepared you are to take on the Dark Lord.

This follows a recent update which added in the Dark Lord boss fight. He's tough to beat, but if you somehow manage to take him down you'll unlock him as a playable character.

With all the recent planned changes complete, including HLH tower, sidequests, the Dark Lord fight, and more, I'm even more able to work on new features, big or small. I'm having fun working on this game and want to keep making it better, so drop your suggestions here or in the discussions, I'm all ears!

v6.1 - Quality of life changes

-Hidden rooms & the "Choose Your Sidekick" screen can be disabled to speed up grinding
-Scrapping gear now gives obsidian as well
-Changed wording on HLH Tower boosts to make it more clear that the gains scale to your heroes' levels

v6.0 - The Dark Lord

-Added the Dark Lord battle (it's pretty difficult)
-Added the Dark Lord as a playable character
-Bug fixes

More detailed post coming soon

v5.3

-Added two more dungeon modifiers, Loot Raid (for x2 loot drop rates) & Path of Power (+50% exp)
