Hypnospace Outlaw version H01-00001a Patch Notes [UPDATED 4-11-19]
EDIT: Quick update on 4-11-2019. Pushed a hotfix to account for the following issues:
- H-- no longer resets, FOR REAL this time
- Virtual Pets can no longer die and become stuck in pet purgatory
- Ja----- completely fixed
- other minor fixes
Howdy folks! We've got a patch up now with several major and minor fixes for Hypnospace Outlaw. This update will hit GOG and itch versions of the game tomorrow morning.
Another update will be released in late April or early May with a bunch of brand new content and more fixes.
PATCH NOTES for Hypnospace Outlaw version H01-00001a Spoilery words blanked out for your safety.
FIXES:
- Quitting or force-closing during 'cutscenes' no longer breaks game elements
- Wiping of H-- progress should no longer occur
- Cancelling the y2k M-------- event & softlocking is no longer possible
- Potential fix for Ja----- soft-lock and other associated bugs
- (Win64 only) Sequencer now has its own folder and should work smoothly. (NOTE: Click OK at the warning popup, it works fine.)
- Win32 build works properly
- ButtsDisease now works
- Finding Za--'s stuff before Gooper shouldn't lock progress
- O----- 1.0 now inaccessible via search (will add special search tag for speedrunning in next build)
- Lea--P----- date fixed to fit in timeline
- Removed tags on Rapper's page for Lost and Found to force actual puzzle solving
- Fixed download link for Basidia Fungus Scene EP songs
- Removed inaccessible pages so 100%ing should be possible

Hypnospace Outlaw has been available for 3 days now, and we've been blown away by the response. We've had multiple press outlets calling it a Game of the Year Contender, tons of YouTube videos, livestreams, and even a video from someone who attempted to make Granny Cream's Hot Butter Ice-Cream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bE-Q7C6iXc

MAKE YOUR OWN HYPNOSPACE WEBPAGES AND SONGS
In preparation for the upcoming Steam Workshop Update (more on this in a sec), here's your chance to make webpages and songs that will feature in the game!
Simply download the Hypnospace Productivity Suite (fully endorsed by Merchantsoft, Windows only), and use the Hypnospace Page Builder and Hypnospace Tune Sequencer to create great webpages and tracks for the game: https://jay-tholen.itch.io/hsps
You can then simply drop the .hsp file into a directory in /hs/ in the game files, to see your pages in the game! Eg. drop your page in data/hs/01_goodtime valley/, and hey presto, your page in is Goodtime Valley.
But that's not all! You'll soon be able to upload these for other players to find and share... speaking of which...
THE STEAM WORKSHOP UPDATE
With the upcoming Steam Workshop Update, you'll then be able to offer your creations to other Hypnospace users. Anyone who owns the game will be able to download your websites and songs, and will their Hypnospace browser with your wonderment.
We're aiming to have the Steam Workshop Update ready for this summer (along with an update for the Productivity Suite), which should give you enough time to build a whole bunch of fantastic pages, ready for injection into the Hypnospace world.
We'll let you all know when this update is ready! It will, of course, be a completely free update you'll simply download through Steam.
EXTRA SECRETS AND SILLINESS
Over the course of the next month, we'll be updating the game with extra webpages and silliness to find -- some out in the open, and some hidden behind keywords you'll need to search.
We love the idea of Hypnospace evolving over time, and it gives you more reasons to come back to the game again in the future.
We're also aware of a bunch of bugs and fixes that need swatting -- thanks to everyone who has posted on the Steam forums and in the Hypnospace Discord (discord.gg/hypnospace).
We'll be working over the next weeks to kill all these issues dead, so if you see some small updates for the game, it'll most likely be a combination of new little extras, and bug-killing.
