We have gathered the questions and are excited to answer them regarding the game's development and upcoming features! ๐Ÿค–

Here are the questions and answers from the developers:



Q.1 - Are there any plans for console ports?


Yes, the game is planned to be released on all current-gen consoles in the future, probably on the 1.0 release or a bit later.

Q.2 - What should we expect from the next part of the story?


Well, I can't dive into details as it'll be a huge spoiler for you. You can expect new NPCs, diorama areas, and new rooftop areas for sure. Very cool NPCs really, I like them.

Q.3 - What is the inspiration behind the designs of the tools and robots?


There are a lot of things that inspire us in other media. Mostly movies like "Love, Death and Robots", "Finch" with Tom Hanks, etc.

Q.4 - Will there be any new quests and a continuation of the story in the next update?


Right now we are working on an updated roadmap. Maybe it's already available, I don't know when this video will be out. Our next update will be focused on the gamepad, new GUI system, and optimization together with some narrative items and some smaller things. After that in the next update, we'll release a big part of the rooftop, finally! We know you're waiting for it so much and working on it. In the next update, we'll release the next chapter of the story with another rooftop area as well.

Q.5 - Will we ever get any sort of pets or new companions?


It's not planned for near future updates, but I like this idea and we'll consider it for our next updates.

Q.6 - If we met another survivor, could we play as them on another rooftop and have them meet?


There is no online co-op in I Am Future and not planned yet

Q.7 - What are the plans for the minion improvements?


We're constantly working on minions and will continue for sure. Right now we're not happy with their AI and pathfinding and fixing it. Also, we're planning to add more minion rules, mostly for repetitive tasks and routines. But before adding it we'd like to fix current rules to make it more stable and optimised.

Q.8 - Can we see more weather changes and seasons?


We're planning a weather system in the near future. With solar panels, probably wind power. Seasons sounds also very good for the game, but not planned in production currently. We'll decide a bit later on how and when we could implement it.

Q.9 - Are there any plans for a mechanic to enable us to destroy items we have too much of?


Yes, we're planning to add such mechanics and also make all your resources more useful with new recipes, buildings, and mechanics.

Q.10 - We would love to see โ€œovergrownโ€ decorations, are they planned for the next update?


Hmm... We'll think about it for sure. Also, I like the idea of adding decorative plants to make our rooftops filled with more nature

Q.11 - Will the molecular synthesizer conversion functions be expanded into more than just biomass to specific types of garbage?


Yes, the molecular synthesizer will be updated with new features for sure.

Q.12 - Is there an ETA on chest renaming?


It's planned to be released in our next big update in February together with new UI systems and gamepad support

Q.13 - Will it be possible to connect all levels on all the rooftops into one power grid?


Yes! The main idea behind electricity is to provide you with all the tools to connect it to one big power grid. The problem currently is stairs and bridge, but we're planning improvement for it.

Q.14 - Can we have a storage container in our fishing area to store fishing bait?


Yes, it's already planned to add

Q.15 - Will we eventually be able to fully automate water collection, filtration, and distribution?


Yes, it's part of the routine, and minions fit well for this work. We already have pumps, an auto-watering building, so the only thing is to make a rule for minions to take the water from the pump and fill the sprinkler

Q.16 - Are there plans for specializing the minions using slotted upgrades?


We are planning to provide you with minions upgrades, but it'll be as part of buying new modules on a Smart Tower

Q.17 - Will there be anything for wind power?


It's planned after we add the weather system, yes.

Q.18 - It would be great to have simple minigames in-game like playing cards with the minions!


We like ideas about mini-games... Not planned for the near future as everybody is waiting for new rooftop areas, story chapters, etc, but we'll think about adding something a bit later. Our team is not so big, just about 15 people, so we have to prioritize things

Q.19 - As the rooftop gets larger, traveling will take a long time, will there be equipment to make traveling easier?


Yeah, it's gonna be a problem. We're planning to add teleport buildings to fix it

Q.20 - Will we be able to traverse the ocean by boat and maybe get some deep sea creatures?


It's not planned, but we'll add a lot more fish and sea creatures for sure

๐Ÿš€ 'A New Me' Content Update ๐Ÿ’™

It's finally here future-dwellers! ๐Ÿš€



The holiday season is still celebrated even in a post-apocalyptic world! We are pleased to present you!



The team has been working tirelessly and reading all of your requests of what content you want to see next as well as improvements to our game. We are finally able to say, it's here and we can't wait for you all to play it.

We've had a challenging year at Mandragora as we released our game into Early Access but your positive feedback we've received from our amazing players has kept us going.

We're also working on making the game compatible with gamepads, which will be available soon. We know this is a highly requested addition to our game and we're working on it as we speak but we just need a little more time.

Major Content Updates:



All new female character AND customization options



The female character is now in the game right now! You can only choose a character once per game, but we didn't want our long-time players to miss out on this exciting update. The first time you click 'continue' on the main menu, you will be presented with a choice! New players will see it immediately when starting a new game.

We've also added more customization options to our editor, including skin color, hair, eyebrows, and beard.



New decorative buildings & mechanics



You'll love the new functional buildings that let you nap in style, store tons of one-type resources, and tables that will allow you to arrange items or serve yourself lunch!

We also have added new footpaths that can make your rooftop all that more unique to you and of course, cozy like you're on a small country farm.



Color your rooftop!



You can now craft spray cans from leech slime and decorate all your buildings in various colors.



Blocking the infection nests



Annoyed by those pesky leeches from getting to your resources? We have added a special dome that can block them, just simply installed it on the huge flower.



Rooftop Patches



Sealing holes in the floor is now available with special patches. Once the floor is sealed, you can finally walk AND build on it so you know it's sturdy.



Introduction to 'mini-tasks' and new currency



We have added all new "mini-tasks" Complete them to earn new currency which you can spend at a new store during expeditions to buy useful items and furniture blueprints.



Christmas Event



Of course, we wanted to get you all into the holiday spirit with some gifts! Just launch the game and you'll find them on your rooftop, ready to bring some extra holiday cheer to your day!

November's Workbench!

Those pesky infection nest!


We're in the process of creating a new building to stop those pesky infection nests from spawning those leeches and thorns out onto your rooftop but don't worry, the dome will help contain while collecting resources.


UI updates for the gamepad


We're updating and re-designing our UI as part of our work on gamepad to make it more consistent and user-friendly ๐ŸŽฎ


Add a splash of color to your rooftop


Soon you'll be able to repaint your buildings with spray paint cans made from slime and a few other ingredients.


More furniture options!


Want to sleep somewhere else instead of the deck chair? No problem, we're going to be adding a new way for you to get some more shuteye as well as new furniture options too



Our new female character in-game!


We can't wait to bring the new female character option into I Am Future, here is a new look at how she's looking so far in-game.

Our team is doing our best to combine work on new content and improvements to the existing features.

In this patch, we've addressed several pesky issues that some players may have encountered during gameplay (such as problems with the day and night cycle, which caused one of the initial quests not to be completed)

We also didn't miss the opportunity to improve the behavior of minions and fix other issues. And the second roof is now even more beautiful! :)

  • Improved behavior and navigation for the Technician and Builder roles.
  • Enhanced target search algorithm for the Collector role.
  • Fixed minion behavior algorithm during recharge.
  • Fixed an issue where minions became the default color upon loading, even if a different color was set before.
  • Fixed a minor bug with the outline of interactive objects in minion target assignment mode.

  • Improved storage interfaces.
  • Fixed the behavior of pressing Escape in the expedition code lock and at the trader.
  • Fixed the fuel level interface in the kitchen.
  • Now the watering zone for automatic sprinklers is displayed during construction, as well as the range of the Ultraviolet Tower's impact, and the connection zone for electric poles.
  • Fixed a bug when transitioning from the pause menu to the main menu.

  • Fixed a serious error that prevented the game from continuing (the player would stuck in the endless day) when removing the leech with a full inventory.
  • Fixed the ladder collider on the first roof.
  • Fixed the operation of the StopWeed Spray.
  • Fixed a bug with falling through the floor under electric poles and sources of infection.
  • Fish soup moved from the Drinks section to the Food section (no one knows who put it in drinks, maybe it was too liquid for food.

  • Significant improvement of textures for the second roof.
  • Shader improvement for the hologram of the Generator construction.
  • Fixed the operation of lamps for improved beds.
