We are taking our time to improve upon our game. New UI, more features like investing in projects or discovering new technology, new options like stealing tech from other countries, playing through it to see what needs to be fixed or just improved.

DevBlog #1 "About Statistics"
Hey everyone, Welcome to the first devblog of the IAYP game, where you will be able to follow how the game develops. In each devlog we will allow you to familiarize yourself with the existing mechanics in the game. Their development over time, recent amendments, current course of action and future changes that we plan to introduce will also be presented.
Today's topic is: Statistics.

Statistics are a set of indicators describing the state of our country and our relations with various social groups. There are 7 main types of statistics: Society, Politics, Diplomacy, Economy, Industry, Army and Money. The range of values of the first six ranges from 0% to 100%. The last one, Money, can rise up and down without restrictions.
A drop to 0% of one of these statistics will mean that the next day, sad gentlemen will come for us - either an enraged crowd or an assassin. Regardless of who comes with the grudge, it will mean the end of the game. Remember, presidential candidates to make sure you have high enough numbers. Fortunately, you will get a warning about statistics that are too low in advance.
Statistics in the game are represented by a small UI bar in the upper left corner. There you will be able to check the statistics values. In addition, when you make decisions, you'll see how strongly it will affect statistics. The change can be negative or positive, but you will only learn about it after making your decision.
The UI bar can be rolled up and expanded at any time, allowing more experienced players to rely solely on their intuition.
Society, Politics and Diplomacy represent our relationship with various social groups. Industry and Economy represent condition of our state. Army represent strength of US army. Money is a budget we can spend for example on improvements.
Society - a hint about how average citizens perceive us and do they like our governments? The Society indicator will most often change when making decisions about people. For example: the introduction of high taxes can lead to an increase in dissatisfaction, and thus a decrease in the Society index. Assistance during natural disasters can contribute to an increase in satisfaction, and thus an increase in the Society index. Take care of people's support - their votes can contribute to your re-election in the next election.
Politics - the indicator represents your popularity among fat ones like other politicians, businessmen and rivals. Often their interests will be against the interests of the people, and certainly yours. However, not everyone will throw logs at your feet. Although there is no place for friendship in politics, you will be helped by politicians who have previously helped you get the majority of votes in elections. Examples of decisions that affect this indicator are: arresting political rivals for their crimes - the Politics indicator will decrease. Increasing taxes may increase this rate.
Diplomacy - an indicator representing how they perceive you around the world. The value of this statistic will change depending on your decisions about the United States and the rest of the world. So you won't get popularity around the world by conquering, hindering travel from the world to your country and breaking contracts. Asking for help also contributes to the decline in this statistic, but it also works the other way around. Helping others can bring you allies, and therefore higher diplomacy. World leaders will appreciate, however, when you rule wisely, honestly and with a firm hand.
Economy and Industry - determine the amount of money flowing into the state budget, as well as the state of economy and industry in the United States. You can try to help anyone in need, but it will require a strong economy or industry. Too much load can lead to their destruction and, as a result, to the collapse of the United States. You will often be able to increase the value of these statistics. In the future, these statistics can be spent on Investments / Improvements.
Army - defines the strength of our army. When performing a conventional attack, we spend some value of this statistic. Leading conquests we sacrifice soldiers, but not only. It will cost us usually two statistics: Army and Money.
Money - is the US budget and our funds for various purposes. From bribes to expenses after making a decision, expenditure on nuclear bombs and the army.
As you can see Statistics are one of the key elements of the game that represent the world around you. By your popularity, to the efficiency of your country. They are your means to expand your empire and the means to improve diplomatic relations.

Dialogues - Added ability to express emotions for president's guests, improved guests animations

Added Atomic Thread to the World Map - Your actions against the world won’t go unnoticed. The greatest of this world are watching. Atomic Thread indicator will tell you how close you are to starting a world war - meaning Game Over. However, this will not cancel your plans to conquer (almost) the whole world. Atomic Thread indicator will decrease its value over time and through your other ingame actions such as dialogues, negotiations or social media. Gaining more and more value at diplomacy statistic will also help you to calm down other world leaders.
Press Conference feature is implemented - you can answer journalist's questions. Answering or ignoring journalists will affect your statistics values and story alike. If you promise something publicly people will remember. Unless you manage to get out of it. Just like politicians in real life.
Press Conference Room Modeling - we are still waiting for a new room model and new models for journalists.
Selecting the members of the Cabinet of the United States is implemented - Player is able to assign politicians to various Cabinet positions. For Example: Secretary of Defense. Having a dream team is a huge part of your career success. They will help you cope with difficult situations such as your decision burdening the economy of the state or unpopular decision among citizens. Unfortunately, not all of them will be useful or may be useful only on specific Cabinet positions.
Negotiations aka Card Game - Yes, we heard some of you. Yes, Card Games are bad, but there is nothing to worry about. If you are not interested in playing through this, you have a second option - Negotiations through further dialogue.

At this point, one of our homies sits and writes a short warm-up scenario, using all available in game features. We will want to know how much fun you are having playing our game, what can we improve and what bugs you have encountered so we could fix them before launch.
We experiment with a different appearance of characters visiting us. They are currently cardboard figures, but we are thinking about other solutions. In the future we want to add support for mods. Thanks to this, you will be able to add any number of characters based on the photo... Yes, you'll be able to upload your photo and become secretary of state;). Let us know what you think about this feature.
We are also changing the UI. It will be more pro, sexy and cool. It will definitely make the game much more enjoyable;).

Some hot news about I Am Your President beta :)
Time for some important information for everyone waiting for our game. I would like to start by explaining why we communicate so rarely. We are a „smoll indie dev team” and we do not have a person strictly responsible for contact with the community. That is why we often forget about this. I'm sorry on behalf of the whole team ;<. BUT If you have a really urgent question, please join our discord server. You can write to us directly there (some of us are present here every day). Then we will try to answer as soon as possible.
„Soon” we want to give you access to the beta of our game. We are very excited to hear your opinions. The beta version will have limited content and will be rather short(we don't want to spoil you the most interesting events). Despite this, we will be able to catch many of our mistakes, mainly design ones;). Based on your feedback, we will be able to finally determine the exact release date. The bad news is that we probably won't be able to release the game in 2019. Creating content in the game such as events, conversations, speeches, laws, etc. is very time consuming and we want to avoid a situation where events are too repetitive. That's why we need more time.
I would like to describe to you more precisely what this game is now. The goal of the game will be making America great again ... and survive. Seriously! During the entire presidency we will have to take care of many parameters of our country such as economy, diplomacy, industry, society etc. If at least one of these parameters drops to a critically low level then you will lose! Your every decision will influence these parameters. Really everything - every conversation, a message sent in social media, a speech given, a signed law, etc. You will have a number of options at your disposal to reach your goal. It is possible that sometimes you will have to go against yourself to survive. Politics life is not easy 😉. Even if you lose, the next game will not be the same. The events that will appear in each game will be largely random. Thanks to this, the game will gain a lot of replay value.
Tools that we want to put into your hands. - Dialogues (...many dialogues. It will be the main way of influencing the world). - Signing legal acts (after all you are the president). - Creating and delivering speeches. - Posting to social media. - World map and some interesting options on it. ;) - Negotiating with other leaders. - Selecting the members of the Cabinet of the United States. - Short-term goals. - A press conference! - Maybe something more? 😉

CHANGELOG - June
We have not given you any new information for a long time. It's time to fix it.
Most of the game's mechanics are implemented. We still need some time to polish them, but we're on the right track.
Creating new content - events, scenarios, mean tweets etc. To be honest it's really hard task to do. Sometimes we would like to bend the reality more and give the President more power. We are a little torn between the need to maintain authenticity and interesting gameplay solutions.
We are not satisfied with the current state of the UI. We are considering further changes in this aspect.
Less interesting things under the hood such as saving the game etc.
The discord server is still running. If you want to contact us quickly this is the best way.
We know that you would love to have the game released. Unfortunately, we do not want to release a game that is not finished. It wouldn't be fair to you. That is why we are asking for a little more patience.

CHANGELOG - April
Improved the world map module - now it's more accurate, works better and just much more cooler ;).
Added influence zones. You can now fight politically and militarily to expand your zone.
Module of Laws, Acts and Bills improved. You can even use your own hand signature or draw naughty things (that's how we tested it ;)).
Negotiation module (also known as "card game") improved. We know that some of you don't like cards but it's just a little minigame. The cards symbolize the arguments you will collect during the normal course of the game. Some of them will be ordinary political demagogy but you can find special cards during the game that work great in certain cases. You can get something on someone and use it during negotiation.
Improvements to some uninteresting stuff like game options etc.
Creating tons of new bugs and fixing them as always ;)
