New Champion: Windfall


    A dedicated champion of Tiamat, Windfall has been granted phenomenal power by her master. She is the proprietor of the Red Belvedere, a monument to Tiamat and a remnant of Avernus's original existence as a bucolic paradise designed to tempt mortals. Its edifice was destroyed in the carnage of the Blood War, but Windfall rebuilt the casino and rededicated it to the Dragon Queen as a celebration of her god's greed and vanity. Windfall is ostentatious and charismatic, making small talk with regular patrons and jovially welcoming new faces to the casino. She once plotted to assemble the Rod of Seven Parts to create a gift for her cruel goddess, but has instead joined the Champions at Tiamat's behest.

SURPRISE! We're excited to introduce the 150th Champion released in Idle Champions - The Evergreen Champion Windfall! You can unlock Windfall by completing an upcoming Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign variant starting May 28th, 2025!

Windfall is a DPS, Support, and Gold Find Champion found in the second variant of the adventure "The Rod of Seven Parts" in the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign. She buffs the damage of all Champions in the longest column in the formation, and her attacks take on the draconic essence of the chromatic dragon of your choice.

Basic Attack



  • Chromatic Rapier(melee) -Windfall attacks a random enemy for 1 hit.

Passive Abilities



  • Proprietor of the Red Belvedere - Windfall can be used in any Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign adventure or variant, even if she would not normally be available to be used due to variant or patron restrictions.

Formation Abilities



  • The Long Game - Windfall increases the damage of all Champions in the column(s) with the most slots by 100%. If multiple columns are tied for the most slots, then each of them are affected.
  • The Gambler - When Windfall attacks and defeats an enemy, she gains a Raise stack. Otherwise, she gains a Call stack. Gold find is increased by 100% for each Raise stack, stacking multiplicatively. Windfall's damage and The Long Game are both increased by 400% for each Call stack, stacking multiplicatively. Both are capped at 25 stacks and reset upon changing areas.
  • Dragon's Pride - Windfall increases the effect of The Long Game by 20% for each adventure, variant, and Patron variant you have completed in the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations



  • Red Dragon's Greed - Windfall tries to avoid attacking enemies that don't drop gold or count for quest progress. Her normal attacks light her target on fire, dealing 3 seconds of BUD-based damage to the enemy every second for 5 seconds.
  • Blue Dragon's Spark - Windfall gains the Control role and she prefers to attack stunned enemies. Her normal attacks are charged with lightning, striking out at up to two other random enemies, dealing 5 seconds of BUD-based damage to them, and stunning all enemies damaged for 3 seconds.
  • Green Dragon's Spite - Windfall prefers to attack the farthest target. Her normal attacks exude a small cloud of poisonous gas around the target for 10 seconds. Enemies in the gas cloud take 2 seconds of BUD-based damage every second while they are in the area.
  • Black Dragon's Corrosion - Windfall gains the Breaker role and she prefers to attack armored or hits-based enemies. Her normal attacks coat the target in Acid, dealing 10 seconds of BUD-based damage and all successful attacks against those targets break an additional piece of armored or segmented health.
  • White Dragon's Chill - Windfall gains the Control role and she prefers to attack slowed enemies. Her normal attacks create a medium cloud of icy air for 5 seconds around the target. Enemies in the cloud take 1 second of BUD-based damage every second while they are in the area and are slowed by 50%.

Ultimate Ability



  • Stunning Scintillation(melee) -Windfall's blinding coat erupts in a scintillating flash, dealing 1 ultimate hit to all enemies, stunning and then slowing them.

    When Yorven came across the Witchlight Carnival he managed to convince the owners to bring him on board. When the Witchlight Carnival returned to the Feywild years later, Yorven moved on, seeking his childhood home - and the hags who banished him.

  • Rag Tag Team - Yorven increases the damage of all Champions in the formation by 100% for each unique species in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Blood Fury Tattoo - Yorven gains a Blood Fury stack for each enemy that has been damaged in the current area. His damage is increased by 100% for each Blood Fury stack, stacking multiplicatively. Bosses provide 15 stacks when they are damaged. Caps at 25 stacks.
  • Danger Sense - All Champions take 5 less damage from all attacks, and Rag Tag Team is increased by 500% each time Yorven's max health is doubled, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Down The Rabbit Hole - Yorven increases the effect of Rag Tag Team by 20% for each adventure, variant, and Patron variant you have completed in the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations



  • Hunger For Blood - Yorven's damage is increased by 1000% and if an enemy dies while he is attacking it with Ferocious Maul, he immediately leaps to another enemy and begins attacking that one. This adds one additional attack to Ferocious Maul each time it triggers.
  • Eldritch Claw Tattoo - Each time Yorven Springpaw attacks during Ferocious Maul, an inky tendril of Eldritch energy shoots out and zaps a different random enemy, dealing 1 second of BUD-based damage. The amount is increased by 400% if Yorven is the BUD-setting Champion. If no other enemies are on screen, this ability does nothing.
  • Follow The Mad Rabbit - Yorven's Rag Tag Team is increased by 50% for each Blood Fury stack Yorven has.
  • Infectious Fury - Yorven gains the Debuff role and any enemy he has attacked takes 100% additional damage from all Champions each time it attacks a member of the formation, stacking multiplicatively up to 25 times.

Ultimate Ability



  • Fey Wild Shape -Yorven Springpaw wild shapes into a shadow mastiff-like creature for 30 seconds. During this time their attack cooldown is reduced by 2.5 seconds, and their damage is increased by 400%.

Great Modron March 8



Several times each century, the clockwork plane of Mechanus mobilizes a vast wave of modrons and sends them on a tour of the cosmos. Known as "The Great Modron March", this unstoppable tide of lawful constructs journeys across the material plane on the exact same route each time. However, this time something has changed -- the modrons are marching on Waterdeep.
The Great Modron March returns once again, and while the many constructs of Mechanus march upon Waterdeep, the latest new Champion arrives: Vlithryn, Cleric of Persana!

Keen eyes may recognize Vlithryn - and her banshee-like scream - from the web series 1 For All, where she is played by the amazing Soylent Cosplay. Vlithryn is the first Featured Champion for Great Modron March this year.

The second Featured Champion for Great Modron March 8, Yorven Springpaw, arrives next week on May 14. Players will be able to learn all about Yorven's changes in the Yorven Champion Update blog on Friday, May 9th.

  • Boon XP: The Boon system has been reworked in this event! Eligible items purchased with Platinum now grant Boon XP, which unlocks Boon Levels. The Boon Level cap has also been removed.

  • Extra Benefits: When the event ends, you'll earn Scales of Tiamat based on what you completed within the event. You'll get 250 Scales for every event variant of tier 2 or above that you have completed, and 250 Scales for each Boon XP you've obtained. Scales of Tiamat are used in the Legendary Forge to craft Legendary Equipment.

Boon XP & Boon Level Changes



As always, your feedback is incredibly important to us. Since announcing the return of Boon XP as an Augment last week, we've heard concerns that your platinum does not go as far when this augment is active compared to the standard boon system. We'd like to provide some additional clarity to show the increased rewards between the Boon XP Augment and the standard boon system.

Our intent for the Boon XP Augment is to amp up the rewards for players who choose to purchase items that grant event boons. While the pricing of each boon level differs from the standard system, the rewards are greatly increased. This ultimately yields a substantial overall increase in the power of the buffs players gain for each platinum they spend on event packs. Here is a comparison of boon levels in the standard system vs the Boon XP Augment.

  • Blessed Mace(melee) -Vlithryn attacks a random enemy, dealing 1 hit and knocking them back a short distance.

Formation Abilities



  • Justice of the Depths - Vlithryn increases the damage of all Champions in the columns in front of her by 400%.
  • Cleric Clinic - Every second, Vlithryn heals the 3 most damaged Champion for 20 health. This amount is increased by 25% for each Tanking Champion in the formation.
  • Pantheon of Blessings - Vlithryn increases the effect of Justice of the Depths by 10% for each Global Tier Blessing you have unlocked, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Revivify - When a Champion is defeated, Vlithryn consumes a Revivify charge and screams in frustration, pushing back all enemies a short distance. She then casts Revivify and heals the defeated Champion, bringing them back to life at full health. Vlithryn's Revivify charges are equal to the number of Awful Ones in the formation and reset upon changing areas. The effect of Justice of the Depths is increased by 400% for each Revivify charge used in the current area, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Divine Intervention - Vlithryn gains one Dire Straits stack every time she effectively heals a Champion with Cleric Clinic. When she reaches 30 stacks, Persana appears and blesses her with the following:

    - Revivify immediately gains an additional charge
    - Justice of the Depths is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking multiplicatively
    - The healing amount of Cleric Clinic is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking additively.

    Dire Straits stacks continue to increase after Persana appears, up to a maximum of 100. Upon changing areas, Vlithryn loses up to 25 Dire Strait stacks, and if her stacks drop below 30, Persana disappears, taking his blessings with him.

Specializations



  • Who Else Would Save Them? - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 200% for every Champion in the formation with an INT score of 12 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Help the Unfortunate - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Spreading the Word - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each unique Species in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Ultimate Ability



  • Call Lightning(magic) -Vlithryn zaps the enemy with the most remaining Health and then empowers her attack with lightning for 15 seconds, increasing her attack speed and adding BUD-based damage.

  • Augment 1: Boon XP (Returning Augment)

    Description: The boon system has been reworked in this event! Eligible items purchased with Platinum now grant Boon XP, which unlocks Boon Levels. The Boon Level cap has also been removed. Check out April's Augment blog for details.

  • Augment 2: Extra Benefits (Returning Augment)

    Description: When the event ends, you'll earn Scales of Tiamat* based on what you completed within the event. You'll get 250 Scales for every event variant of tier 2 or above that you have completed and 250 Scales for each Boon XP you've obtained.

    *Scales of Tiamat are used in the Legendary Forge to craft Legendary Equipment.

  • Augment 3: Free Rerolls (Returning Augment)

    Description: You gain five free rerolls to use on each set of your Weekly Offers during this event!

  • Augment 4: Worth The Wait (Returning Augment)

What is the Notary?

The Notary allows Blacksmithing and Bounty Contracts to be converted between rarities at no cost. You can also directly convert Bounty Contracts into Event Tokens without needing to use them (though you forfeit the gold reward). Finally, you can purchase the average contents of Silver Chest and Gold Chest bundles without having to purchase and open the Chests themselves.

Can I trade my Bounty Contracts for Blacksmithing Contracts, or vise-versa?

No, you can not trade between types of contracts. You can only convert between rarities of the same type.

What do I get when trading Bounty Contracts for Event Tokens?

You get the same number of Event Tokens by converting Bounty Contracts through the Notary compared to using them manually. However, you do not get any of the gold.

What do I get when purchasing Chest Contents with Gems?

When purchasing Chest contents with gems in the Notary, you will receive precisely the average Chest contents for the respective type, assuming all equipment items were duplicates. Purchasing Gold Chest contents will award Event Tokens and Feats, whereas the Silver Chest contents provide more Potion Reagents, Evergreen Item Levels, and Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts.

In order to access this tab, all of the Evergreen Champions you own (both core and unlocked) must have Epic or better equipment in all slots.

The Vault reopens, offering different deals every day.

You can access the Vault from the notification pop-up or through the in-game shop.

      After such a long and cold winter, the citizens of Daggerford are eager to celebrate the Festival of Fools: a day of feasting, drinking, and general foolishness. People don brightly colored and garish clothing, dancing in the street like court jesters and competing with one another to see who can pull off the most foolish (yet harmless) pranks.

      During the festivities, a concerned villager approaches the party and asks for help. She says that her husband's prank is to try and taunt a frost giant...

    Festival of Fools 8 has arrived, and with it, a unique event: Beadle & Grimm have been separated and updated to become two separate Champions! For more information on this month's Featured Champions, read on -- but first, let's talk about an update we are making to Events!

    Events Update: Choosing Your Path


    When we introduced Events 2.0, players would pick from a range of Flex Champions for each event. However, if players picked the same Champion multiple times, that Champion's progress would continue where it left off. Moving forward, that need not be the case.

    For those of you who were playing last year, you likely have a selection of Champions in each event with some level of Event progress. Starting with Festival of Fools, if you choose a Flex Champion who already has event tier progress, you will be presented with a choice: You can choose to maintain that progress and pick up where you left off (automatically triggering any Champion Event Buffs you unlocked last year), or you may choose to reset that progress and re-collect Gold Chests and Bonus rewards from Augments as you complete each variant tier again.

There are some small housekeeping notes since this is such a unique rebalance:

    • Existing skins will be separated and credited to both Champions Beadle and Grimm (once you unlock him).
    • Equipment & Item Levels on the former Beadle and Grimm Champion will transfer to the new Beadle.
    • Most feats on Beadle & Grimm will transfer to Beadle, with the exception of Tavern Brawler and Grappler, which move to Grimm.

    Abilities


    Basic Attack


    • Magic Wand(melee/magic) -Beadle bonks a random enemy with a wand. This unleashes two magic missiles that fly out and hit two other random enemies.

    Passive Abilities



    • Inseparable - Beadle & Grimm are so inseparable that if either one qualifies for an adventure restriction based on their tags, ages, ability scores, etc., then both can be used.

    Formation Abilities



    • Brothers In Armors - If Grimm is in the formation, all of Beadle's equipment item levels are increased by Grimm's base average item level.
    • In The Shadows - Beadle increases the damage of Champions within 2 slots of himself by 100%, and enemies that hit targets affected by this have a 20% chance to miss.
    • Sticky Fingers - Whenever Beadle attacks an enemy, he causes it to immediately drop 20% of the gold it would award on death. The enemy then stops and checks its pockets, stunning it for 2 seconds. This can only occur to each enemy 5 times.
    • Share The Glory - Most positional formation abilities that affect Beadle also affect Grimm if he is in the formation. If Grimm is already affected by the same ability, Beadle instead increases the effect of In The Shadows by 400%.
    • Ultimate Tag Team - When Grimm uses his ultimate ability in the same party as Beadle, Beadle's ultimate ability goes on cooldown and he gains one Tag Team stack. For each Tag Team stack Beadle has, his ultimate cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds, and his next ultimate attack deals 200% more damage, stacking multiplicatively. Tag Team stacks cap at 10 and reset when Beadle uses his ultimate ability.

    • Epic Equipment - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 20% for each piece of Epic or better equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
    • Premium Gear - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 0.075% for every item level on your formation's Champions' equipment, stacking multiplicatively. Each individual Champion can contribute at most 1,800 stacks.
    • Shiniest Loot - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 30% for each piece of Shiny or Golden equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

    • Arcane Strike(magic) -Beadle teleports and blasts all enemies with arcane magic, dealing ultimate damage and stunning them.
