About the Upcoming new level
This is a screenshot of the sky area from the new level ( I want the rest to be a surprise, so I can't show too much, of course!). It's been a labor of love from the beginning. The models took me around 3 weeks to make and materialize correctly (I've been working on them since March). I use the 3D modeling software Blender for all of my 3D art. The level design, which I admit isn't my specialty, took an additional 3 weeks while working on the localization update. I usually start by roughly sketching the level and then laying out block pieces to try and visualize what I want to do while keeping my scope small enough to prevent becoming overwhelmed. This level includes 2 poems, but you may or may not see all of the stanzas since there are several ways to finish it. I have an internal system for handling the poems, which allows me to place them down fairly quickly. It's a universal system. The music is from multiple sources ( I do not write my own music. Again, it's not something I specialize in), but I do tend to mix and match several pieces of music and sound together to create a unique experience. This one has some sounds that are only heard in headphones.
3.0 Release Date Announcement
Hi Everyone!
I have finally been able to nail down a scheduled release date for the 3.0 release of Immersive Poetry, which includes a whole new map! This update is scheduled to be sent out on May the 3rd (May the third be with you... Nah doesn't work), anytime that day (I have to physically be here to release it, and sometimes I have a life to partake in). The new level has been completed, and since it's my favorite so far, it will be available to all players, regardless of how far you currently are in the game (Even if you haven't started yet, you will be able to play this one). I would release it earlier, but I am rushing to finish the localization for the new level and the settings menu as promised. I don't think I have the time to localize the poems before this update, but I am trying my best. A lot of time and effort goes into this process behind the scenes. I hope you are excited! I will post a teaser screenshot for the new level later today so you can see what it looks like. It's very different than everything you've seen so far!

Localization Update v2.8.0 (April 19th)
The Localization update is here!
Patch Notes
Added the Russian Language
Completely changed the fonts in the game to be more compatible with the Cyrillic AND Latin alphabets.
Small bug fixes in preparation for the end of April release.
What IS NOT TRANSLATED:
Poems (Coming Soon)
Poems in the extras menu
Settings Menu (Coming Soon)
Redesigned the handwritten font in the journals to allow Cyrillic.
Added a Language Option at the bottom of the settings menu to switch languages. Click the desired language and allow the game to momentarily load the language you selected.
Changed the way the game is packaged to allow a better and faster update system. This is why the update is ~400MB.
Known Issues
Missing capitalizations in Russian translations
Text may clip off screen at times due to the new font style and sizes.
This update brings the Russian language to most parts of the game, including all menus and instructional widgets. Support for additional languages is also now possible, and more languages may be added in the future if demand calls for them.
Additionally, all fonts have been changed to allow for cyrillic and latin letters to coexist with no foreseen issues. This includes the journal entries and menus.
HOW TO REPORT BAD OR MISSING TRANSLATIONS
This is an easy one. If you are reporting multiple bad or missing translations , please send an email to immersivepoetry@gmail.com. You will be credited for everything that you contribute. If you are reporting one bad or missing translation , please use the discussion forums on Steam OR send an email to immersivepoetry@gmail.com.
What’s next?
A new content drop will be ready by the end of April or the first week of May. As we get closer, I will be able to set an exact release date. This drop brings with it a new poem level and new music. New parchments will be arriving soon after that.
Upcoming Update 2.8.0 (Language Support) April 19th, 2018
The 2.8.0 version of Immersive Poetry will be releasing on April 19th. This update will add the Russian language to the game, as well as support for other languages in the future.
What ISN'T translated?
Everything in the game has been localized excluding the extras menu poems and the poem texts in game, the latter of which will be translated in the End of April update (3.0, no scheduled release date as of yet and may be the first week of May). It is possible that I have missed some texts throughout the game, and if this is the case, please email me or post the missing translations on the discussion boards. This is my first attempt at translating a game inside of this engine, so mistakes may be present, and I apologize in advance for anything that goes awry.
Why?
The unlockable poems are not translated due to the fact that these are images and not text on a backdrop. I will need to remake the assets and then replace them during runtime without causing any other issues, and I don't feel like I have the amount of time I need for it to live up to my standards. The poem popups in the game are going to be translated, I just did not have the time to translate them before this update, so hang in there!
What IS translated?
Basically, everything else not mentioned above should be translated properly. I am taking this next week to sweep back through it for mistakes (Russian is NOT my native language). The original release for this update was intended to be April 5th, but with my trip to the states, it just wasn't possible to hit that mark, and I apologize for its lateness; I take full responsibility. It's tough doing things on your own sometimes.
Are other languages possible in the future?
This system I have in place now will allow other languages to be added pretty seamlessly in the future. While I don't have plans for other languages at this time, I am open to requests. I do not speak any other languages (My Russian is barely intermediate; Most of the translations are products from my wife), and hiring translators can get pretty pricey. With that said, I'd love to pursue additional languages in between the planned updates mentioned in the roadmap.
Is there anything else in this update minus the localization support?
No, unfortunately, besides some minor bug fixes that won't mean much to you if you have already played the whole game. However, with that said, the 3.0 update will add a new level with some cool new things to explore.
Thanks to everyone who has been supportive throughout the lifetime of Immersive Poetry. Here's to what's next!
Returning!
Hey players! I just wanted to make a quick announcement that I am back from the states and back to work today. Localization setup is nearing completion and will be ready within the next week or two (All that's missing is the proofreading part). More info on that is coming soon. Additionally, things are still on schedule for this quarter's two updates, the first of which is April 30th. Thank you! :)
End of Q1 Update: Localization
Hello Players! This is an announcement regarding localization for the game. I am hoping to have this update out by the end of March, or the first week of April (I will be away for a week from March 28th-April 7th), depending on time. This update will bring the Russian language to the game. More languages will come in the near future. I sincerely apologize for the long delay. There were some hiccups a couple of months ago in the localization process. This update will wrap up the first quarter and bring us into the second with some bug fixes to accompany it. Thank you for your patience!
Controller Update v2.7.0

Full Controller Support is officially here, including UI navigation! Controls can be seen in the controls menu. Hopefully. key remapping will most likely be possible in the future!
XInput AND DirectInput Gamepads and Joysticks are both now compatible.

Redesigned the mouse cursor to be a quill.
Redesigned the main menu for Spring!
Added a new creature to the Underwater level to make it feel more populated. This will be part of a new goal for this level soon. Watch your heads!
Made the final code MUCH easier to spot in the journal entries by adding additional numbers to the pages. I apologize for the tardiness of this fix.
Various small bug fixes
Known Issues
Microstutter when using a controller and changing movement directions
Photomode can't be opened with a DirectInput Controller (Must be using the xInput API)
Mouse Cursor being reset to default windows cursor after exiting the main menu
Controller start button needs to be pressed multiple times to pause or unpause the game.
Some controls are unintuitive
Some 2.7.0 patch notes missing from Changelog in game.
Upcoming
Work has already begun on the second quarter update. This update will be split into two parts, each one including new content (at least one additional level in each). I am currently in the process of creating the environment art for the first new level. It will be slightly longer and more involved than the ones currently available. While I don't have an exact release date planned yet, I would estimate that work will be wrapping up around the end of April/Mid May for the first part and the end of June for the second. There will be several smaller updates along the way as well.
UPCOMING Update (March 15th, 2018)
Full Controller Support Update
Hello everyone! The update on the following Thursday will bring controller support to Immersive Poetry, long overdue. This update also includes a new main menu design, a new cursor design, and more. Along with all of this, I have introduced an easier method of getting the correct code at the end of the game for those who were struggling with it (found in the journal entries). The full patch notes will be available right after the update goes live, so stay tuned!
