Immersive Poetry 2018 Roadmap

Roadmap

Hello players! I have completed a short and sweet roadmap for Immersive Poetry in 2018. Development for the next title is slightly behind schedule, and as such, Thalasse Games will continue to provide support and content for Immersive Poetry in the meantime. I apologize for the lack of new content and features. Some things end up being more daunting than originally planned, but I promise that new stuff in on the way.

Q1

Even though the first quarter of the year is already wrapping up, don't fret! This update is already in the testing stage and is being pushed out within the next week or two. This is what I have spent the better part of the past couple of months working on, and again, I apologize for its tardiness. This update has full gamepad support for the game, including UI navigation, along with some other little features and design changes.

Q2

I am taking a trip to the states to see my family at the end of March, and upon my return, I will start work on the second quarter's planned update. This update will include 2 unique and brand new levels added to the game. These levels will be slightly more involved and much larger than the original content (an oversight on my part and a big reason I probably should have launched Immersive Poetry in Easrly Access). Additionally, the parchment system will be more fleshed out and award more things, such as new skins for your menu, new button designs, and new mouse cursors.

Q3

I am hoping to have the next title wrapping up development in this quarter. Along with its announcement, I plan to release a level based on the Grimm's fairy tales along with some new gameplay elements in currently existing levels.

Q4

This will be the anniversary update for Immersive Poetry and will include a new level for the game, new parchments, and some new soundtracks for you to enjoy.

Final Words

I hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek of the planned content! This also outlines when you should be looking to return to the game and try the new stuff every now and again. Have a fantastic March, and keep a lookout for the gamepad update coming in the next week or two!

Incoming Roadmap!

Hello everyone!
I apologize for the lack of communication and updates lately. I have been dealing with sickness and very cold weather as has my wife. Hopefully, things will pick up as usual soon. Enough about that, onto the announcement:
I am currently preparing a roadmap for Immersive Poetry that extends throughout the 2018 year. This roadmap includes the plans for the game and what to look forward to. I know that the game itself doesn't have much replayability, so I also hope that this roadmap will let you know when to return for new content updates! It should be ready in the next few days, and if anything changes, I will keep you posted!

Update v2.0.5 (February 5th, 2018)

Patch Notes

  • Fixed an issue that caused the player to die on the Four Ages of Man if they did not exit the level fast enough after winning.
  • Addressed an issue (hopefully fixed) that caused the boat to become unusable on a Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky if the player had already finished the level. Still monitoring for more potential causes

Small Patch Notes

I apologize for this patch being so small. A teaser trailer for Thalasse Games' next endeavor is in the making, and most time has been spent on this. Additionally, in the process of updating Immersive Poetry's engine version, something broke, and the project had to be reconstructed using a previous version. This may lead to unforeseen bugs. The studio is monitoring and testing gameplay to ensure that no major issues have been missed.

Upcoming Update (No ETA)

Good Afternoon! This is an announcement regarding an upcoming update to Immersive Poetry. While I don't have an exact date the update will be ready, it should be within the next few days. I am currently in the process of upgrading the game to a more stable and optimized version of its engine, which means a more stable and optimized experience for you! Additionally, there have been several bug fixes and optimizations made within Immersive Poetry itself (Thank you, bug reporters). I will have more details regarding the update soon, so hang tight!

Hotfix v2.0.3 (January 20th, 2018)

Patch Notes:

  • Fixed a sizing issue with the player on the Snowstorm level that prevented the player from entering the cave.

Hotfix v2.0.2 (January 16th, 2018)

Patch Notes:

<*> Fixed a bug that prevented the new parchment achievements not granting. If you did not receive the first 2 progress achievements, visiting the "extras" menu should now grant them if you have collected the correct amount of parchments. Sorry for the inconveniences this caused!
<*> Fixed an issue that disallowed players to pick up the second parchment (and sometimes the first) on The Snowstorm. The parchment is now obtainable the same way as the others. Additionally, I toned down the snow effects and re-sized the player on this level because it annoyed me, and if it annoys the dev, we all know it shouldn't be there!

    Update v2.0.0 (January 15th, 2018)

    Patch Notes:

<*> Redesigned the main menu to celebrate the winter season
<*> Added a new progression system called "Parchments". Parchments can be found throughout the world of Immersive Poetry and unlock special poems on th e "Extras" menu.
<*> All loading screens from the main menu will now fade out the main menu's music. All loading screens will do this soon.
<*> Minor fixes in "Autumn" and "The Snowstorm".

Feedback can be left in the discussion forums or sent to immersivepoetry@gmail.com. Thank you!

      Update Delay Announcement (1.4.2)

Hey Everyone! I wanted to make an announcement to say that, unfortunately, the update planned for Immersive Poetry today will be delayed for at least another week. I know this seems like quite a hefty delay, and I offer my sincerest apology for it. The delay is in part due to an error with the new progression system and my desire to flesh it out a bit more before releasing it to the players. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience, and I promise that the update will be more than worth it!

New Unlockables! (Upcoming Update January 8th, 2018)

First of all, here's to hoping everyone had a fantastic New Years! While things are winding down from the holidays, Immersive Poetry will be winding things up with some new content: Unlockable Parchments, along with some new achievements (which should already be visible in Steam).

      What are Parchments?

<*> Parchments are pieces of paper with poems on them, found throughout Immersive Poetry. Collecting a piece of parchment paper will unlock a poem in the new "Extras" menu (found on the main menu), which can be read on this screen. While poems that levels are based on are included in this set, there are also several others that aren't! To collect a piece of parchment, you need to search for them throughout the game and run into them to collect them. A sound will alert you that the parchment has been collected. More information will be available on update day!

Immersive Poetry January Plans and Warm Welcomes

First of all, I hope everyone has had or is having a fantastic holiday season! I wanted to take some time to elaborate on Thalasse Games' plans for Immersive Poetry in January. First off, there are several more QoL adjustments I'd like to make, including some UI changes and audio adjustments (Fading out sounds, better loading screens, etc.). Additionally, the new map is still under development and should be ready before the end of January. If anything changes, an announcement will be made in advance to keep everyone in the loop. Lastly, controller support development will be completed in January.

Also, a generous welcome to all of the new players from the Steam winter sale! I hope that you enjoy the game, and please feel free to use the discussion forums or email support at immersivepoetry@gmail.com with any questions or feedback you have.

Immersive Poetry will continue to be discounted 75% until the end of the winter sale! Computer games make great gifts. ;)
