Hello Fellow Poets! the 1.3.2 update for Immersive Poetry has just gone live. This update includes some minor bug fixes, a new main menu, and gamepad support testing!

Patch Notes

  • Added controller support (Still in development)
  • Redesigned the main menu to celebrate the season (includes new music and a tree!)

  • Fixed an issue that would cause the pause menu to open the original menu and not the seasonal one

What's Next?

While development on Immersive Poetry is winding down, there will still be regular patches and bug fixes incoming. Additionally, a new winter map is still in the works and should be ready for release before the end of January. More information on that will be released soon. Thalasse Games is currently developing two additional projects, and official announcements for one of them will be coming before the end of January as well. The second one requires more pre-production work before any announcement can be made. Thank you!

Upcoming Update V1.3.2 (December 20th)

This is the official announcement for an upcoming update for Immersive Poetry, scheduled for the 20th of December.

Prominent Patch Notes

  • Redesigned the main menu to celebrate the holiday season (This menu will remain until the 8th of January to cover ALL Christmas celebrating countries that have a different day than the 25th. Here's looking at you, Russia!)
  • Controller support has been added, but is still in testing mode. Please be patient with me as I work out any kinks that are found along the way! Additionally, controller support is still in development, and several menus will not respond to controller input as of now. However, in-game controls should work correctly. For a list of controls, please see the controls section of the main menu. If you feel the controls need to be changed, please do not hesitate to email support at immersivepoetry@gmail.com. You may provide feedback on controller support in the bugs forums or by emailing support. All emails are responded to within 24 hours.

Immersive Poetry News December 7, 2017

Where are the updates?

Hello fellow poets! I wanted to take this time to catch up with the community and let them know why there haven't been many updates regarding Immersive Poetry. I have decided to roll several larger new features together, including controller support and new content to celebrate Christmas, into their own large "Christmas Update". So please don't fret! Updates are happening and are on the way. Additionally, work on additional projects has been undergoing, making it critical for me to divide my time as best as possible for maximum productivity. Thank you for understanding, and I can't wait to share what's coming next for Immersive Poetry!

Content Update v1.2.2

Greetings Poets!

The long-awaited content update for Immersive Poetry is here! In this update, the focus was around designing and ensuring the new map would provide a solid experience without copying from levels currently in the game. To accomplish this, I borrowed elements already familiar within the game and expanded upon them.

While the new level is an exciting part of the update, it's not the only one!

Patch Notes:

  • Added the Autumn Level to the Game.
  • Redesigned the Main Menu to celebrate the new content and the season of Autumn! :)
  • Added the screenshot save location to the controls UI
  • The Changelog is now available if you click on the version number in the bottom corner of the menu.
  • Using the "Escape" or "Tab" keys will now close the changelog (Requested by Leroy Warnt)
  • The poems on the Boat Beneath the Sunny Sky level now display the poem in the correct flow.
  • Added considerable more poetry to the Limbo level (Requested by "English Teacher Plays")
  • Added an Achievement for completion of the Autumn Level
  • Added an Achievement for Taking a photo with Photo Mode (See controls tab for more information)
  • Added the newspaper entry for the Autumn Level
  • Added an awesome new little help widget for photo mode so you know how it works!
  • Miscellaneous Minor Fixes

In addition, I know that the second set of achievements (The ones that aren't "Complete this" or "Complete that") are difficult to complete as there is no direct or clearly indirect completion method. This is intended, and I have considered either writing a guide or recording a walkthrough to assist people who want to complete every achievement in the game. If anyone is interested, feel free to let me know on our Steam discussion forums, or by commenting below.

Future Plans

The scheduled weekly patches will resume starting next week, and I will focus my attention on QoL adjustments as well as the addition of gamepad support (mentioned below).
Immersive Poetry will be receiving a Christmas content update as well, featuring a new map that brings new mechanics and the ability to fly to the game.
In addition to this, gamepad support is coming in the near future (I have no ETA yet, but this will be added before the Christmas content update).
Lastly. the next project is still underway, and while it's still too early to discuss specifics, Immersive Poetry will receive one more scheduled content update during Q1 of 2018 that borrows mechanics from said project.

This is a "QoL" update with some minor design changes to the underwater level. I attempted to improve some design and direction flaws I noticed throughout the community during the first week. • The level's secret on the Fourth level has been moved and made more visible.
  • Added "Press the 'E' Key to Finish the level" to the 6th Level.
  • Texture now properly applied to coral in the 6th Level.

Next week's update will include any bugs encountered in the following week along with some small changes to Limbo. Update announcements typically happen around 1-2 days before the update detailing what will be included.

Lastly, the first content update for Immersive Poetry is scheduled for November 23rd and will include one new map with a journal entry. Have a great week!

Upcoming Patch v1.1.1 (October 23rd)

Hi all! I hope you're enjoying your first week in-game. It's definitely been a wild ride for me so far. This is the announcement for the upcoming patch on October 23rd, v1.1.1. In this patch, I will be addressing several issues and QoL complications. The game can be 100% completed, but I realize now that by the time that designing the game was almost complete, I was suffering from "Lack of Player Insight" syndrome, where I would make things too complicated for fresh eyes, even though they'd appear to be easy for me (due to the amount of time spent playtesting). I will be addressing several of these points in this patch, making things slightly more player-friendly. Thank you for understanding and for your patience! Again, this patch will be going out on October 23rd, on schedule.

Additionally, I'd like to announce that the first content update is in the planning stage, and there will be more information about it coming soon.

Patches will go out on a weekly basis. Hotfixes are unscheduled. Have a great day!
