Halloween DLC

The new Halloween DLC is now LIVE!

Small bug fix + mouse quality of life

Just a small push that should contain a fix for when clicks in the option menu would go through and interact with the grid below.
It also contain a mouse quality of life improvement:
-Pressing the middle mouse button and moving your cursor will pan the grid in that direction.
-Toggling Caps Lock change the scroll mouse behaviour from pan up/down to zoom.
Together, they should allow you to play with only your mouse.

Word Cascade Release!

Patch Addressing Linux Bad Graphic Drivers

With this patch, Linux drivers that return empty list of supported display should finally all be handled and will now offer a 800x600 window (resizable) by default rather than a game crash.

The Black Screen Plague is GONE!

Wow. I never thought such a small bug would give us so much grief. If you were playing this game on a smaller screen resolution, you might have noticed that, about 2 years ago, the game stopped working for you. Or, if you bought it since, it just never worked for you.

However, it took us so long to track it to a resolution issue, we practically went over every logical places for the game to fail first, as we could not reproduce the bug no matter what we tried. Worse, people affected had Linux, Mac, Windows, good graphic cards, bad ones, one OS version or another, no common thread that we could see...

While a few community members attempted to help us find and fix this issue, we have to give a special thank you to user doomseer who eventually led us to the solution.

We hope that was the last one, that you get to enjoy that little Picross game with infinite puzzle generation now more than ever.

However, if you come across something else, let us know. One day, one week, one month or one year, we WILL squash that bug. Take care everyone and thank you for giving us a chance to always improve!

Improvements to the UI

Thanks to the great feedback of some of you, both in the forums and in the reviews, we've revisited some GUI features and have attempted to improve it.

-The classical puzzles now have a next button that will appear as long as you have unsolved puzzles that meet your current filters

-In the classical grid view, an icon was added to filter out the puzzles you've already completed.

-The helper icon is now bigger, repositioned and more consistant. We're still working on it, so it may get improved further soon!

-The options are bigger and cleaner. They ALSO may get improved further soon.

-A very weird issue was found when the resolution is at its minimum (1024*768). If you play at this size and had black screen or the like, let us know! We'll fix it, but tracking it will be easier with more paths.

Sixth Content Patch

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Soooo... We may have done a December patch all the same. They're all multiples of 5 and sitting between medium and large (looking at you, widescreen users).

We've also tweaked a bit the option menu (made it as big as the smallest resolution will have it and made the icons bigger) and tweaked the tool (pictures will now default to their own dimensions assuming they are puzzle legal.)

We wish you the very best and keep letting us know your feelings about this game!

Fifth Content Patch (And a bit more egg on our face)

With the end of November comes the monthly content patch (10 smalls, 11 mediums, 10 large). We hope you've been enjoying those.

However, if you *have* been enjoying them, you might have run into an issue someone just kindly reported which is that custom puzzles did not give you size achievements. This has been fixed and you have our apologies, especially if you have solved the 100x100...

Also, we will likely skip the patch of December since we are a tiny team of two and will be very busy with our next project, family, holidays and snow (so tired of shoveling). But, if you feel like it, send us your puzzles (and right to distribute) so that we can make a community bundle. It'll happen if there's enough interest for it.

From us to you, we wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful, if snowy, beginning of winter.

Fourth Content Patch (+ minor fixes)

Hello everyone!

The month ends and with it comes 31 new puzzles (5 smalls, 21 mediums, 5 larges). We concentrated more on the mediums this time since we feel there's enough smalls for people to sink their teeth in and wanted people that have a bit more experience to have some too. If you don't like the ratio, or want more of a specific size, let us know!

As for the patches, they should address two issues. One is a shader patch that was created for one user who had a very unique issue. We're merging it with the main build, because it should be equivalent to the previous shader. If your numbering somehow becomes wrong, let us know, we'll figure something out...

The second one is an anti-nag patch, to our greatest shame. Hopefully, no one suffered from that issue. It seems that if you installed the game in some specific Windows directory, some config files were not taken into account. Not only is that an annoying issue in and of itself, but it made the "one-time" pop-up reappear for people using those configuration. If that was your case, you have our apologies and the latest build should fix that.

I hope you enjoy a wonderful Halloween (and Thanksgiving, for those celebrating it in November) and we'll catch you in a month!

P.S.: If you have an issue, come and tell us right away, don't wait a month!
