Watching let's plays of the demo is making the game better

Hello there Infliction fans!

It’s been amazing to let people play a small sample of the game in the demo, and it’s proven to be super popular on YouTube as well. The most popular YouTube play through has racked up over a million views! Just search for “infliction” on YouTube and you’ll find dozens of videos!

I’ve learned a lot from watching folks play the demo, and I'm tweaking the final game to make it even scarier. I wrote about these lessons in an Imgur post which attracted a bit of attention. It contains a handful of new GIFs that I haven’t shown publicly before, so if you’re hungry for more game info, go check it out. Just search for “infliction” on Imgur and it’s the top result.

To stay on top of the latest Infliction info, remember you can follow me on social media. I’m CausticReality on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, and add a “.com” for the official website.

Thanks again for your support!

Stay in touch and get the latest news!

Hello all!

There’s a lot happening in the world of Infliction, and it’s not always possible to keep you up to date on everything via these Steam updates.

One of the best ways to get the latest news is to follow me on social media. You can keep an eye on everything happening via Twitter by searching for @CausticReality, and if you’re more of a Facebook fan, search for Caustic Reality there too.

My crowdfunding campaign just hit its halfway point, and there have been some awesome free bonuses unlocked. Check out either of the above social media accounts to get the latest.

The Infliction demo has also been popular with YouTube “Let’s Play” video creators, with the total number of video views now well over 1.5 million! I’ve been blown away by the positive response the demo has received, both here on Steam and on YouTube.

Thanks again for joining me on this journey, with Infliction’s October release as our shared destination. It’s already been an amazing ride, and it’s only going to get better!

The demo is live, and there's a freaky new trailer!

Hi everyone, and thanks for your support of this independent game project. Community support and word of mouth are incredibly important for indie projects like this, so thanks so much for your enthusiasm and encouragement.

I have a few things to announce in this update, so let's jump into it!

First up, the demo is live now! This is a stand-alone experience that you can play through in 10-20 minutes to get a first-hand taste of how the finished game will play. It's spoiler-free, too: I made the demo to sample the gameplay, not spoil the story!

Second, I've made a disturbing new trailer. You can see it here on the Steam page, but I've also uploaded it to YouTube: https://bit.ly/InflictionTrailer If you could watch it, give it a thumbs-up, and share it with your horror-loving friends, that would be great.

I've also launched a Kickstarter to help get the game looking amazing for its Halloween release. If you've enjoyed the demo and the trailer, it would be awesome if you could go and back it.

Thanks again for your support! I've worked on this game on my own for two years, so it's great to finally be showing it to the world, even if it's only a demo and a trailer so far. In four months, you'll be able to play the whole thing!

Playable demo and new trailer launches next week! 😱

Hi folks,

We have exciting news on Infliction - we're coming to Kickstarter on June 26th, featuring a new trailer and playable demo!

Infliction is an interactive nightmare, a horrific journey through the dark secrets of a fractured home. Unstuck in time, players wander through the heartbreaking remnants of a once-happy family, piecing together clues and struggling to atone for past sins.

This game has been my passion and focus for over 2 years, and we're on the home stretch to launch in time for Halloween this year. The Kickstarter will help me hire an animator for final improvements, as well as additional features such as localisation if we hit stretch goals.
Thank you so much for your support so far, and I look forward to scaring the world with Infliction soon. I'll send an email to celebrate the campaign going live early next week, and there's a Facebook event to join for notifications and behind-the-scene peeks. If you have horror fan friends, please invite them to the event page so they can check out the new trailer and the demo that will launch with the Kickstarter.

Cheers,
Clinton

Development update

Although I have not yet announced a release date, I did put a tentative date of Q1 2018 on both my web page and the steam page. I was on track to meet this deadline but something major changed in the scope of the game. Late last year I made the decision that I wanted the game to be more substantial with a greater ability to deliver the story and offer a better experience to you. I can assure you I’m working extremely hard to complete the game and can say with confidence that It will be released this year. I’ve been working on Infliction for over 2 years now and I’m looking just as forward to releasing it as you are to playing it.

I’ll be releasing a second trailer and announcing the official release date shortly, so keep your eyes peeled for that. I know waiting really sucks, but I’m confident that you’ll really appreciate the additional content.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks so much for your interest in Infliction, it’s you that boosts my motivation each and every day.

For now, I hope you enjoy the trailer and if you have any questions please let me know.
