Infra

Update incoming!

Part two is now under development! Release date of part two will be announced later.

ALSO! INFRA is going to be on sale starting from tomorrow! As you probably know, when the second part of the game is released, the price will nudge higher. So this is a perfect opportunity for you guys who haven’t purchased the game yet or for your friends who are planning on getting the game.

There’s also a bigger update on the first part of the game coming up tomorrow.

Here are a couple of things that have been updated:

  • The player’s voice has been redone
  • The character textures have been refined
  • There are new puzzles in reserve2 and watertreatment levels
  • The interior areas of the dam have been redesigned
  • A large amount of random bugs have been fixed

Unfortunately the update will mess with your current saves in the game. To avoid this, leave the game in a beginning of a chapter during the update. You can also disable the update if you want to. To do this, go to: Steam Library -> INFRA -> Options -> Updates. Here are also some instructions in case something happens to your saves: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251110/discussions/1/412446292769452652/

We are excited to work on the second part already! You are going to love it, we promise!

Developer response to player feedback

Hello everyone!

We’ve now been live with INFRA for almost a month! We have got a lot of feedback on the game. We have studied all of it carefully and there are no words to describe how much we appreciate the amount of time and effort you’ve put into the numerous reviews, comments and ideas you have provided us. A great share of the feedback has been positive, boosting our feeling of being on the right track. You have also pointed out a number of things that take away something from the playing experience. All of the concerns you have raised are important, since they help us refine the game and repair the things that need to be fixed.

As you may have noticed, we have already made a number of improvements to the game based on your feedback. All details on the updates can be found in the Community News section of Steam. We keep on working on many things, such as the OS X version, redoing some of the voice acting among other things. A lot is still to be done, since we are devoted to constantly developing the game based on your feedback. So please, keep it coming! :)

We also wish to highlight how great it has been to see you take initiative as INFRA community. Following your offer to help, there is a community project starting in which the game will be translated from English to other languages. This is important, since translations will make the game more easily accessible to more players. We’ll keep you posted!

As many of you know, we are also working on the next episode of INFRA. Many of the great and creative ideas you have provided us will materialize in these future updates of the game. And, there is room for more! You should also know that the price of the game will rise a little on the launch of the next episode. However, as you possess the game already, you will not pay anything extra. You get the next episode for free. So, if your friends show interest in the game, please advise them to buy INFRA before the next episode is released.

To show our appreciation to you all and to keep you better informed, we’ve put together a list of pros and cons you have referred to in the discussions, comments and reviews. They appear below in a thematic order. In connection to the cons, we provide description of what kind of action has been taken and what has been planned to further improve the game. We also explain why in certain cases we have chosen not to do any changes.

You can read the rest of the message here.

Secondly, the support for XBOX 360 controller has been implemented almost completely. Only some small things, like not being able to use the ingame computers, are still missing, hence the partial controller support status shown on the Steam Store page.

Office level updated

Hello folks,

We had noticed that many of the players were getting lost in the first level of the game, so we took action. Many hints, both subtle and apparent, have been added to the level to help guide the player to his objectives. The level has also been generally updated as small things have been changed here and there.

Work with the level is still not done however, as we are planning to add a few monologue pieces to remind the player of the tasks at hand. The character models and voice acting in general need updating too.

The public issue tracker for INFRA can be found here.

Crash and audio problems fixed

Hello everyone!

Two big fixes today. The crash occurring when transitioning from watertreatment to sewer has been fixed, this time hopefully for good and for all of you players. The crash was solved by splitting the sewer level in half. The ending sequence is now a new level called sewer2. Another big fix today is the audio bug which caused all the audio recordings and dialogue to stop playing after a certain point in the game. This no longer should happen.

The public issue tracker for INFRA can be found here.
