Interstellar Rift

Weekly Workshop Showcase #2 Special: Piracy Ahoy!

Good evening again everyone, and we do hope you're having a relaxed Sunday filled with adventures in the Interstellar Rift universe!

In this week's showcase, we're going to be diving into the drifter designs uploaded. After all, where something can be claimed, there's piracy! And who are we to let you forget that.

#5: Lamentation Class Gunship by valiant7000

Coming in hot in this week's number five is a classic gunship! Drifters of course rely on brawn to take down what may come, and as such we decided this was an apt fit.

This snug little ship is easy to make, can be mass-produced (As the Drifters would have you believe!), and can cause havoc! What's not to love here.

#4: The Drifters - Unjust Principle by International Conglomerate

A retrofitted HSC Salvager has been ushered into Drifter service, and Hurles sure does condemn you for that, for how dare you!

But alas, this ship too will give you lots of room to work with and provides a good amount of amenities for you to use, be it violent or otherwise! And look, it even has vicious gripper claws! Now, isn't that menacing...

#3 Arcadia by John Nada

The "Are you sure about that" meme was likely on this ship designer's mind! An absolute beast in size and firepower, this ship will surely be the ultimate flagship of your Drifter fleet!

And there's even a few skulls on the ship design, because if you're not proud to be a Drifter, are you even doing it right?!

#2 DFT Marauder by colonelXL

This dual-armed drifter ship is spaceously designed, but with absolute versatility in mind. It might be a little older, but this ship will still run at 226 m/s, so that even retreat in battle is a viable option!

This ship will surely satisfy the intrepid explorer and resource-movers amongst the Drifter factions. We always say; Ain't no shame in logistics, because it makes the world run!

#1 Bentenmaru by Ryo

Perhaps a little bit of an older design, but look at that sleek design! Any self-respecting Drifter will feel mighty proud to be part of the wrong side of the law for once! (Crime sometimes pays, but don't tell our players that, shh!)

You might yet need to retrofit it, but who cares when flying this?! Worth every penny, we say!

Weekly Workshop Showcase #1 Special: Olden Days

Good evening everyone, and we do hope you're having a relaxed Sunday filled with adventures in the Interstellar Rift universe!

This is the very first of a weekly workshop showcase. In these showcases, we pick a few ships within a variety of classes and purposes to showcase. The ships that are shown are selected by exterior and interior.
In this week's showcase, we're going to be diving into the older designs uploaded. After all, what's old is not always forgotten! With some care and retrofitting, we are sure you can yet turn these older designs into your newest flagship or support vessel!

#5: ZMS Willem van Oranje, by Hurles

The game's developers are Dutch, and of course this list of older designs wouldn't be complete without a ship flying the colors of the Netherlands!

Flying the national colours of the Netherlands have never felt cooler. And hey, you even get a crown on your ship truly marking you the master of Interstellar Rift you are!

Interested? Check the link here!: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=580714088&searchtext=

#4: BS 62 Pegasus by Dokuchan

No self-respecting list would be complete without some fire power, and as such we highlight the BS 62 Pegasus!

A sleek-design battlecruiser will make any starfaring captain be entirely in their element, whether you're taking on players, rogue Drones (Damn Drifters!) or our lovely invaders, we are sure you can use this design to handle anything coming your way!

#3 UMC Mining Ship by Ethom

And of course, our list also can't lack a dedicated mining ship. Nothing makes peace like profits!

This UMC Mining Ship is sure to cover all your basic needs, and with some retrofitting we are sure you can turn it into a production powerhouse, and all of it is done in a muted orange and black hull. Who doesn't love stylish?!

#2 HSC Transporter Mk I by CrazyDeviant

And of course we can't leave a cargo hauler out of the mix! This ship, modeled in the original Hurles Co colour scheme and design philosophy, is literally jampacked with cargo pads. Trust us, this will be able to get your goods from point A to B, no problem!

Like all cargo haulers, you'll feel like fish in a barrel with this one, but the point is to get from point A to B, right? No time for luxury!

#1 Cyta Corp Headquarters by Mr Bubbles Wild Ride

And of course, at number one, is our goal to satisfy even the megalomaniacs under us! Do your ships no longer hold all your precious resources, do you feel as if it is too cramped, or are you simply looking for a new headquarters? Look no more!

Cyta Corp is designed beautifully internally and externally in a crisp-white hull and even has blue letters! Designed in 2016, it still allows you all the space you would ever desire, grant your fleet a place to rest at, and still do everything you'd like to!

Patch notes for Interstellar Rift 1.0.3.60

BUG FIXES

  • Optimize synchronization of fleet changes (is now ~8 times faster)
This should reduce the slowdown experienced when players are interacting with their large fleet vaults, however we're still not happy with how fast it is after this change. To hopefully completely get rid of this slowdown, crew and fleet vault synchronization will be rewritten in the next patch.

  • Fixed ships and certain other entities sometimes not saving at their correct positions
This may fix ship storage issues and some desyncs.

  • Fixed cloak not dropping when bumping stations (reported by Deathraven)

  • Fixed cloaking device deactivation popup cancel button not working (reported by Johnno)

  • Fixed player drones bumping into stations causing reputation damage for the owning player (reported by Hizeron)

  • Fixed rank permissions edit UI checkboxes mismatching with the text (reported by MaDsaiboT)

  • Fixed item locker screens not always correctly (de)activating (reported by Obsidiman)

  • Fixed moving crates from fleet vault to a ship creating empty crates (reported by Upgrayedd)

  • Fixed station shield not always remembering activation time and durability correctly, causing it to prematurely burn out and delete its focusing crystal (reported by Upgrayedd)

  • Fixed internal list of players on a ship not always saving correctly (reported by Calypso)

  • Fixed shield bar in stats screen to indicate the current shield charge versus the maximum charge, instead of target versus maximum (reported by Duke Mizanamous)

  • Fixed confirmation popups not closing on confirm in some cases

  • Fixed being able to remove creator rank and edit creator rank permissions

  • Removed possibly slow workaround for old bug from crew

  • Fixed /give(All)Res{Crew,Fleet} commands not ignoring vault limits and vault storage permissions

  • Fixed logbox not always remembering the set user data

  • Fixed incorrect mouse button prompt in Eggnite removal tutorial

  • Fixed possibility of teleporting a player to a newly rifted ship if that player was on a ship with the same ID, but in a different system

  • Added extra check to avoid teleporting players to a newly rifted ship when they weren't actually on that ship

  • Fixed condition when to log warning when failing to dock a drone

  • Disabled warning log when giving reputation through admin command

  • Fixed synchronization errors leading to entity loader and device state loader thread crashes

  • Avoided possible crash when trying to damage a debuf (f.e. an eggnite)

CHANGES

  • Show both resource and tool slots needed when salvaging a ship into a vault if both will go over the limit

  • Hide various buttons in the fleet GRIP UI when they are not applicable or cannot be used by the player
