The Steam Summer Sale has arrived, which means Intruder is 50% off for the Steam Summer Sale. As usual, XP gains are boosted 200% during the duration of the event -- so you can get Intruder on deep discount and earn double XP from June 26th until July 10th! [/p][p]But our team at Superboss Games has more up our sleeves for Intruder's 2025 Summer Update. Today we're excited to introduce several new gameplay features to augment your infiltrations, escapes, and defensive tactics.[/p][p]Listen closely.[/p]
Remote Speaker
[p]We're introducing a new gadget to Intruder: the Remote Speaker.[/p][p][/p][p]Guards and Intruders can deploy this device to any surface and trigger the sound of gunfire, grenade impacts and shattered glass. Simply set your Remote Speaker in your desired location and use it to trigger any of the available sounds. Enemies in range may find themselves distracted, disoriented, or distressed -- giving your team the opportunity to sneak or strike! The sounds played by the speaker are exactly the same as the real ones, making it impossible to tell real from fake if used properly.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Remote Speaker has limited charges, so use it judiciously.[/p][p]We're eager to see how teams lure opponents to their doom or make clutch escapes while the enemy investigates a shooter that was never there. Be sure to join the Superboss Games Discord to share your feedback and highlight clips![/p][p][/p]
Overhauled Item Descriptions System
[p][/p][p]A new item descriptions system has been created which shows much more detailed info about each item in your inventory, including all the different types of damage, controls, and different use cases. The added scroll bar allows more info to be displayed per item as well. Check it out![/p][p][/p]
Fall Damage
[p]Jumping (or falling) from high ledges now comes with the added danger of hurting your Guard or Intruder. If you impact the ground hard enough to crack the bones in your knees and ragdoll, you'll take damage. The higher you fall from, the more your landing might hurt -- or even kill you.[/p][p]Be careful as you leap from ledges. It's a viable strategy, but you'll need to calculate the risk of endangering your operative against finding another way down.[/p][p][/p]
Intrude Competitive League: Season 10
[p]A New season of the Intruder Competitive League is ready for sign ups! Check out the even details below. [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/518150/view/509583751892697651"]Unique Arm Patches for ICl 9 participants are also available now.[/p][p][/p]
Improvements & Fixes
[p]We've also made some smaller fixes [/p]
[p]You can now use items like the Laser Sensor while on ladders and vines[/p]
[p]Fixed camera sometimes turning backwards on crazy explosions[/p]
[p]Fixed shield pickup collider still being there after pick up sometimes[/p]
[p]Fixed shield spawn point sometimes moving on custom maps[/p]
[p]Fixed Dragon sometimes poking/firing through walls when prone[/p]
[p]Another attempted fix at chair desync upon entering a match and related FPS problems[/p]
[p]Multiple Riverside fixes[/p]
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!? The Remote Speaker also flashes an imitation muzzle flash with different sound selections[p]Special thanks to the Intruder community and Secret Base Alpha. Their suggestions, feedback, and ideas are a constant source of inspiration for the Superboss Games team, and updates like this are only possible because of the community's support. Introducing the Rock Gadget + 50% Off Sale
Greetings, Agents!
Not only is Intruder is on sale for 50% off, and 200% XP is active, until 4pm EST on April 8, 2025 -- but we're excited to introduce an all-new tactical gadget to Intruder.
Rocks.
That's right. Rocks. Stones. The kind you might find on Mountainside trails or in the dirt along the Riverside. Is that where they actually are? You'd better get out there and find out, Agents, because Rocks are a permanent addition to the Intruder arsenal.
And the effects should be, shall we say, tectonic.
Rock Gadget
The Rock is available as an item pickup on every official map. Rocks can be thrown to create a diversion, sow confusion, and even eliminate opponents.
To the enemy, Rocks hitting a surface sounds suspiciously like the sound of your team's footsteps. That goes both ways, of course -- you'll need to pay careful attention to the environment around you to determine if an enemy operative is actually stomping around nearby, or if the enemy's tactical Rock gadget is at work.
Striking enemies with your airborne Rocks deals damage to health, balance, and energy -- or worse, if your strategic stone toss connects with a headshot.
Be advised, our intelligence suspects the Rocks have other special functions. Please confirm if you find such capabilities, agents.
Rocks will also be added to an upcoming Intruder Mapmaker update. Whether you're a Mapmaker updating an existing map, or creating an entirely new one, we can't wait to see how Rocks affect the community's brilliant library of Workshop maps.
Finally, Rocks come in many visual styles. You can now earn cosmetic rewards in the form of unlockable rock skins. Take a look at this stunning render below for a sampling of stones you can earn and equip as you go up the ranks.
New Unlocks & Fix
An error have been fixed that prevented some of weapons skins from the last update from being delivered. We hope the 200% XP boost until April 8 gains you several stones and new unlocks for your favored firearms. Here are some of the new ones available now:
Improvements & Fixes
Added some mass to grenades and other objects so they don't get rocketed to so far
Fixed CS Gas showing particle effects under water
Added more detailed messages if you get disconnected from a server/room
Fix for skins sometimes not appearing when they should
Optimized glass code performance
Fixed some first person items never coming back on screen after landing from fall
Various small fixes and optimizations
Some of what we're working on
Progress continues on a new map, Checkpoint. Here's a shot of the hangar. More on this soon.
Thanks for your time and attention today, Agents. We're eager to see how you use the Rock gadget to augment your infiltrations and strengthen your defensive perimeter.
SPRING 2025: Item Cache Upgrades + 50% Off Sale
Attention, Agents!
The Spring 2025 Update is available now, and Intruder is 50% off until March 20, 2025. Until then, you'll also earn 200% XP in all Ranked matches. We hope this accelerates your ability to unlock the many new cosmetics we've just added to Intruder.
With so many new skins available, it felt right to upgrade the Item Cache so earning rewards is even more satisfying, and to enhance some of your existing gameplay gadgets.
Item Cache & Unlockables
You asked for it: You can now unlock several new weapon skins for the Dragon AR. As you level up, keep an eye out for new Dragon colors, patterns, and other cosmetic unlocks in your rewards window.
Tier 3 - Rare
Dragon - Field Tested
Tier 5 - Ultra Rare
Dragon - Caustic
Dragon - SilverSpecter
Dragon - OWL
We've also re-coded how weapon skins are loaded when joining a match. Our old system and implementation could occasionally lag/hitch the game when a player joined/left your match. This new system should mitigate that.
Alongside the addition of several new skins for all weapons, we're also improving Intruder's Item Cache in this update. To better balance all unlockable cosmetics, we're shifting around the rarity of certain items. As an example, we previously had multiple Bronze skins spread across multiple rarities -- now they're all in a single rarity tier.
Some of our older unlocks were inconsistent between other weapons, specifically simple colors not matching between all available weapons. Panther Blue was darker than Shrike Blue as an example. As of this update -- everything should be matching.
Speaking of those simpler colored skins -- they're available to unlock on every weapon! In the past you could never find an Orange Falcon or an Aqua Shrike, but that's no longer the case. Here's a list of the colors you can unlock after finishing a match:
Tier 1 - Common
Blue
Brown
Gray
Green
Orange
Pink
Purple
Red
Yellow
Tier 2 - Uncommon
Aqua
Cherry
Light Pink
Lime
Magenta
Stealth Blue
Stealth Green
Stealth Red
Tan
Tier 3 - Rare
White
Ever notice how the Falcon and HammerHead had some exclusive camos? That's been fixed too. The following skins are now available on every weapon!
Tier 3 - Rare
Desert UCP*
Southern*
Southern UCP*
Urban*
Urban UCP*
Woodland
Woodland UCP*
(*Not available on the Panther)
Some fan favorite skins like Blue Jack, Red Ace, Mach Pastel (Tier 4) and our beloved Jet Lucre (Tier 5) are available on every weapon!.. except for the Panther. That weapon has too many skins at the moment, so it'll get some love again in a future update.
Gadget Updates
Some in-game gadgets have received some small updates as well.
Both the Binoculars (specifically sending photos) and Mirror Camera gadgets also now support post-processing. This feature can be very taxing on your framerate so it's off by default, but can be toggled back on for the Mirror Camera in the game options.
We've also removed some very subtle aim-punch/recoil that happened after throwing things like Grenades and Remote Charges. It's original intention was to give your actions visual feedback and some weight, but it ended up hindering gameplay like throwing multiple Sensors or Grenades back-to-back.
Improvements & Fixes
You should no longer experience lag when other players (with many skins) join/leave your match.
Existing skins now match similar skins.
Binocular photos show Post Processing.
Mirror Camera has optional Post Processing.
Removed recoil on throwables.

Greetings, Agents. We have an assortment of Intruder improvements going live today, which should not only improve your gameplay experience with specific weaponry, but on particular maps as well. Check out the full details below:
Steam Timeline
Intruder now has Steam Timeline support! Record you mission gameplay with markers for key events. You can press Shift + Tab to bring up Steam Timeline settings. There is even some potassium tracking added in.
Map & Gadget Updates
Shotgun slugs now deal 65 damage, an increase from the Hammerhead's previous 50 damage. You should notice the two-shot-to-kill drop-off starts at a greater range, as well, making the Hammerhead more lethal than ever in close-quarters battles. Smoke grenades now emit smoke faster, so they'll be more immediately useful as a tactical gadget. We've also updated the VFX for CS Gas, which now features a more visible colored haze indicating the affected area. Smoke and CS gadgets are also better synced, so you should no longer see their effect at the start of a round when joining a server.
We made some changes with distributing items, so take note that rooms with shortened round timers or fewer rounds/sets than default will no longer grant players XP.
We've also made several updates to improve the gameplay experience on both Cliffside and Mountainside. You'll find changes to loadouts, fixes for known and new issues, and more. Additionally, the performance optimization introduced in Mountainside's launch now comes to Cliffside, so you should see an increased frame rate as a result of stronger occlusion culling processes.
For the full breakdown of each map's updates, check out the details below.
New Mountainside Changes
Guards no longer spawn with Dragon ARs. Loadouts have been reverted to Mantas.
The door that leads from Classroom Hallway to Roof is locked and requires a keypad code to open. The codes are located in the Armory and inside the Roof Security Room.
3 Dragon ARs can be found inside the Main Building: Executive Office, Roof Security Room and Roof Storage
The main zipline end point has been moved from the West Guard Booth Antenna to a tree right next to that booth
Added extra bushes and cover along the end of the zipline near the West Guard Booth
Added ladders onto the East and West Guard Booth
Added glowsticks on the main bridge marking the zipline starting points
Added an orange piece of cloth onto the Long Cliff Zipline to indicate you can grab it from jumping off the bridge.
Added text on the sides of the East/West Booths.
Slightly adjusted the position of the pickups in the Armory (pickups aren't as spread out)
Fixed the Satellite Control Server Room server racks not having proper collision
Fixed some ammo boxes slightly clipping into surfaces
Fixed round reset Elevator desync
Fixed round reset Attack Helicopter desync
New Cliffside Changes
Slightly adjusted Intruder spawn
Added and adjusted cover near the Garage entrances to assist Intruders with defending Guard pushes and attacks
Moved the Garage Shotgun closer to Intruder spawn
Fixed the Cliff not slipping players
Fixed a method to climb back into the Project Room ceiling vent
Fixed multiple culling issues
Fixed lighting on small props
Lastly, maps are split into two uploads: Windows and Mac. This was done for Mountainside on release. Now, rather than a single map requiring 1gb for each operation systems, it's split 500mb/500mb for Windows/Mac to lighten the load.
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
The Falcon inside the Mountainside Armory has 5 extra bullets to compensate for the extra work required to unlock it (compared to grabbing the Dragon AR) for a total of 15 bullets. Thank you to the members of Secret Base Alpha for their help testing updates like these. We appreciate you all. To share your own feedback, or apply to join Secret Base Alpha for future tests, join us on the Intruder Discord server. Be sure to check out the all-new Dragon AR weapon and let us know what you think.
No longer rank matches if rounds or sets are less than default
Turned off Mountainside Holiday, thank you for joining Agents!
WINTER 2024: Dragon AR + Mountainside Holiday
Happy Holidays, Agents! Intruder is 50% off during the Steam Winter Sale, which runs until January 2, 2025. To celebrate the season, the Superboss Games team got you a present: The Winter 2024 Update is available now.
This free seasonal release is secretly several gifts -- including a 200% XP boost, a festive update to Mountainside, upgrades for Cliffside, and...well, we got you something you've been wanting for a while now. We think you're going to love it.
Let's start unwrapping.
NEW WEAPON: Dragon AR
We're introducing a permanent new addition to the Intruder arsenal: Dragon AR.
This three-round burst assault rifle comes equipped with a built-in, low-powered optic sight, as well as a single-fire firing mode. With a 45-round magazine dealing 25 damage per shot, the Dragon is incredibly deadly. Because the Dragon AR uses lighter, caseless ammunition, you'll want to keep an eye out for the distinct new caseless ammo pickup item.
Two Dragon ARs can be found on Riverside -- one in each building. The Guard's main starting weapon on Mountainside, the Manta, has been replaced by the Dragon.
Good hunting.

New Ammo Box Models
Mountainside Holiday
We're closing out the year with the release of Mountainside Holiday. This seasonal map brings not only festive decorations and a healthy dusting of snow to the Mountainside facility -- but a new game mode as well.
The Guard and Intruder teams will spawn on the East and West Bridges in search of the Christmas Tree. Like all good Christmas Trees, this one comes loaded with gifts -- 90 seconds into the match, each team can loot a present. Use your unique new loadout to reach the extraction, get the gift out, and save the holidays. Hallelujah.
Mountainside Holiday also features a few map modifications. Keep an eye out for new ziplines, and note that the rooftop windows have been removed. Unfortunately, as frostbite-level temperatures settle in over the course of a match, this leaves everyone exposed to the elements -- and their health is at risk the longer the match goes on.
You'll also find the Dragon AR on Mountainside Holiday.
MSide Holiday is only available until the Steam Winter Sale ends on January 2, 2025.
Festive Favorites
While earning double XP in Intruder over the holiday, you're also able to unlock a few classic cosmetics. The Bulb, Snowman, and Candle hats are unlockable alongside the Reindeer Falcon giftwrap skin. These annual seasonal items are only available for a limited time, so be sure to earn them before the Steam Winter Sale ends on January 2, 2025. Good luck, Agents!
Cliffside Optimization
We've upgraded Cliffside's performance with the help of our custom occlusion culling system. We introduced this in the Autumn 2024 update. Now, like Mountainside before it, Cliffside will enjoy improved frame rates and overall optimization.
With the full release, we're also introducing two new map variants: Mountainside Sunset and Mountainside Night.
Alongside the updated Mountainsides, which are available right now, you'll earn 200% experience from Intruder matches until Steam's Autumn event concludes on December 4, 2024. Your double XP earnings should help toward unlocking a series of limited time cosmetic items as well.
Now, the view is good from up here. So let's take a look at what Mountainside is like after hours.
Mountainside: Sunset & Night
The sun has finally set in the mountains. In the sunlight, everyone was exposed and vulnerable -- incoming Intruders as well as eager Guards on the exterior. As daylight dims behind the rocky range, shadows begin to play a stronger role in developing new strategies for Mountainside Sunset. Keep an eye out for new angles and opportunities as you explore during the golden hour.
Meanwhile, with Mountainside Night's dramatic shift toward more severe nighttime shadows, teams will no doubt need to reimagine their infiltration routes, package extractions, and defensive tactics. Intruders can't linger in the dark forever, though....
The Guard team's helo strike also has more impact than ever now. While flushing out sneaks and snipers, the helicopter gunship now ignites a forest fire. But that's not the only way to illuminate the mountain trails...
The rooftop spotlight may prove to be an essential tool in exposing enemies slinking through the shadows as well. Intruders will need to avoid the sweeping spotlight to avoid exposing themselves in the upper levels as well as the facility exterior.

Autumn Cosmetics
Each year, we try to put the giving in Thanksgiving, so as mentioned above you'll receive 200% XP bonus for the duration of the Autumn Sale! But that's not all -- for a limited time, you can also unlock the annual exclusive cosmetics for the season. Now get to playing, ya turkeys.
Improvements & Fixes
The Superboss Games team has also been quietly hard at work on long-term technical improvements for Intruder. We recently designed and integrated a custom occlusion culling system. This means that if you're in Mountainside's lower-level bathrooms, the engine now knows you can't see the upper-level executive office -- so it doesn't render those objects at all.
Occlusion culling is a common process in many game engines, including Unity -- but we have some specific needs for Intruder that made this custom upgrade worthwhile. We've been testing this enhancement with Mountainside, and you can expect to have up to a 40% increase in frame rate in certain areas of the map!
Here's a preview of the new system in action:
The camera is flying to multiple predetermined locations and figuring out what objects need to be enabled/disabled to improve performance.
Mountainside performs better than ever because of this, and we're working as quickly as we can to bring the custom occlusion culling system to Cliffside next, and more maps after that!
Checkpoint and Beyond
Speaking of more maps...we know the Intruder community has long been looking forward to the Checkpoint map, which we know we've been quiet about. While our focus has been on other maps and features, we can confirm that Checkpoint is in active development right now -- along with other exciting Intruder features to be announced.
We'll have more to say about this soon, Agents.
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
The H2 shotgun is currently the only weapon with damage falloff! Shooting at enemies further than 10 feet (3m) away means that you'll need a third shot to finish them off -- beyond that distance, you also might not be able to knock down your target! Hammerhead headshots (Hammerheadshots?) will always instantly kill an enemy at any range, even if they are wearing armor!
THANK YOU!
A hearty thank you to the Intruder community for another amazing year of stealth multiplayer matches. It's been a delight watching you compete on the Mountainside remake, experiment with CQC tactics, and bait sharpshooters with clever decoys.
And an extra special thanks to the hardworking members of Secret Base Alpha for their fantastic help in releasing Mountainside Night. The value of these Agents cannot be overstated. To share your own feedback, or apply to join Secret Base Alpha for future tests, join us on the Intruder Discord server.
