Update 1854: Riverside B1 Hack-Asymmetry, 20 player Mountainside!
Hello agents and welcome to update 1854! This update brings hack mode to Riverside for the first time ever! It's the most asymmetrical and challenging mode ever on the map. We've also got 20 player Mountainside rooms up for testing, and more!
Riverside: B1 Hack - an asymmetrical assault
The guards have gone digital! Instead of guarding a physical package, the guards now have to guard digital files... on physical terminals. Luckily, B1 has also been updated to include shutters and other security systems that can be used to block off access to any intruders! If the intruders hack 3 of the 4 computer networks, however, they have all the intel they need and can consider their mission a success!
Upgraded security room
As seen in the picture above. The security room in B1 Hack has received a big upgrade. The large buttons on the security desk till activate shutters on the garden side of Building 1. Guards will need to use these new tools if they plan to win!
There are 2 shutters to close from the security room:
Upper Hall Window - Prevent intruders from seeing through the 2nd floor hall from garden rocks
Front Entrance Windows - Prevent intruders from breaking in at the ground level
Hack Monitor: The new hack monitor board will help the security Guard know which networks have been hacked throughout the building. As a network gets hacked, its screen will change from blue to green.
Other permanent shutters: You'll notice that Building 1 has been locked down by the guards more than ever. Because of this, certain routes are no longer valid, while others have gained significant importance.
Skylight Windows - Prevent intruders from dropping in through the roof
Rafter Windows - Prevent intruders from sneaking in from the top of the bridge
Guard and Intruder on Riverside Hack B1 have very different equipment sets this time around. Many player wanted to try more asymmetrical game modes so this seemed like the perfect mode to try it out. On both teams you will notice the ammo is much more limited. Conserve your bullets and shoot only when needed!
Guard Equipment:
All guards start with a Shotgun as primary and Shrike pistol. They lack concussion grenades and smoke grenades, but have a CS Gas. For extra firepower. Guards have 2 SMGs available in the security room. Make sure to use them!
Intruder Equipment:
Intruders are much more limited this time around. They have no SMG and their Panther pistol only has 15 shots. They do however get binoculars and 2 smoke grenades at mission start. Communication and team play is key to winning as Intruders in this mode. If you can manage to get into the B1 security room, you can also snag an SMG if Guards did not take them yet.
Play B1 Hack:
Riverside B1 Hack is available for all players. Just choose it from the map select screen in when creating your rooms!
20 Player Mountainside Rooms!
We're now testing Mountainside 10 v 10 rooms! Large maps like Mountainside lend themselves to higher player counts and this a perfect time to try it out. These rooms may be up for a limited time depending on bugs/server load, so try it out now!
Bugfixes and New Additions
Cliffside Clipping - Patched a spot where players would sometimes fall through the floor
Scrunched Leaning - Players can no longer lean while their legs are scrunched
Water Volumes - Mapmakers can now use volumes for water instead of the default water level
Level Loading - Improved feedback when loading into a new level
Room Info - Room info now appears in the team menu during a game
Asia Servers - Asia servers have been fixed, rooms hosted in Asia should work again
Full Room Error - Now displays a proper message when trying to join a full room
UI Fixes - General Changes to make the UI consistent and easy to understand
Map Maker Additions!
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BACK UP your projects before upgrading!

Update 1842: New Gadget Testing!
Hello agents and welcome to update 1842! From the Intruders' secret labs comes a new and exciting gadget with the potential to redefine how intruders intrude!
Goober Grenade
While working in their secret laboratory, the intruders accidentally dropped a grenade into their top secret Goober Goo! While the explosives were rendered useless by the goo, they found that it gave the grenade amazing bouncing abilities!
While this accidental discovery was kept top secret, the guards were able to extract some footage of Goober Grenade tests and replicate the gadget.
------Recovered Footage From Goober Testing------
Test the Goober Grenade Before it is too late!
Now that both teams have their hands on Goober Grenades it is only a matter of time before their use is outlawed by international law! All Agents are required to report to their posts in order to fully test the power of this new gadget effective immediately!

Greetings Agents and welcome to Intruder update build number 1820!
The Update
We are always looking to make Intruder better, and who is better to listen to than the players themselves? This update brings some fixes to Oceanside and gameplay changes based on suggestions from players like you!
Gameplay Updates
Riot Shield ReBalance
Sick of getting shield rushed? This bulletproof gadget has been a favorite for many players, but may have proved a bit too powerful. We wanted to take away some of the single-sided advantage that the shield gives with these updates:
Equip Times: It now takes longer to equip/unequip the Riot Shield. This should encourage players to commit to the shield and rely on teamwork to take out enemies they encounter while using the shield.
Usability: While the riot shield was never allowed while prone, it will no longer be allowed while swimming or climbing ladders.
The Riot Shield still retains its ability to block explosives and remains vulnerable to pushes. In fact, it should be safer to push over someone with a shield as they're less likely to swap to another weapon before you can close the gap.
Oceanside Updates
As an official map, Oceanside should be fun and fair to play. Here are some of the changes we made to improve gameplay:
New changes include:
Bloon is now usable by the Intruders!
Bush Camo also available
Placing giant wall tags bug fixed
Explosives and sensors now move with the van when it rolls up
The van is bulletproof, but now it throws off some cool sparks if you shoot it
Swimming under the map is no longer achievable
No more standing on top of trees
Some exterior cliffs/rocks have been made inaccessible
General Updates
These updates are not specific to a map or gadget, and are aimed at making Intruder more fun to play in general!
Greater than level 100 support! Keep gaining levels and unlocks infinitely, if you've got the guts!
Certain gadgets can now be used on ladders, but not in water, or underwater, etc.
Binoculars can be used in water, but not underwater
Players will no longer be able to crouch or prone while swimming.
Players who try to fire the rifle without having a high enough balance value will receive a warning message explaining why their shots are inaccurate.
The crackling or popping noises that some players experience after shooting an unsuppressed weapon should no longer occur.
When hovering over one of your stat charts on the website, the category percentage is now shown.
Longer timeouts on map loading for people with slow connections
Item Cache optimization after joining a room
Ping limit made more lenient
Workshop Highlights Update
Some amazing new maps have been made by community, so we've added some of them to the Workshop Highlights. You can subscribe to any of these maps to host on your own rooms as well!
MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR PROJECT BEFORE UPDATING!
New changes include:
Bloon pick ups now available to all!
UnityEvents make activators more powerful than ever
Ladder and Water volume updates
Light probe volumes for easier light probe placement!
Door editor fixes
Other new volume types for SabreCSG
LOOKING FOR ANIMATORS!
We're looking for animators to do first person weapon/gadget animations as well as 3rd person character animations!
PLEASE USE THIS FORM TO APPLY: https://forms.gle/WphrSdJWDWX7Fwgg7
Using Blender is a plus since many of the current animations are made in Blender.
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
You can still talk to teammates near your player while piloting the Bloon Cam by using local proximity chat!
Thanks again to all the dedicated agents of Secret Base Alpha who tirelessly test these updates before they are ready to go live. Stick around for a bit and you can join Secret Base Alpha too, we'd love to hear what you think!
Hello agents and welcome to update 1803! With it, another gadget has been added to the Intruder arsenal. We're very excited to introduce the Bloon Cam, a flying, photo capable reconnaissance tool that will send your tactics soaring to a whole new level.
Bloon Cam
Equip and deploy the Bloon Cam in the same way you would use remote charges, sensors, or other throwables. To toggle on Bloon's camera view, simply right click while it's equipped. Bloon can move forward, backwards, strafe, and turn using the typical directional button (WASD) and the mouse. You can also fly Bloon up or down using the lean keys or using the jump or crouch keys.
Pressing fire/left-click while piloting will have Bloon snap of photo from its position and send that to all of your teammates. Like the binoculars photos, these will appear in the lower right HUD of all your teammates.
Besides being used as a recon tool, Bloon can also be used as an impromptu security camera. As a guard, leave Bloon by a briefcase room to check up on it from time to time.
Bloon has some other interesting capabilities that we hope you explore. We'll have a more detailed video of Bloon and what it can do during a future update! Until then, we wanted to get this awesome gadget in people's hands and see what new strategies emerge.
Bloon can be found on all official maps (except Oceanside at the time of publishing). A new version of Intruder Map Maker will also be released soon that allows you to use Bloon on your own custom maps.
New Unlocks
28 new unlocks, mostly comprised of weapon skins, have been added! We've also rejiggered some of the drop rates so you might get more stuff you want more often. These are subject to change in the future though, so get 'em while they're hot.
New Additions
NEW GADGET: Bloon cam
28 new unlocks and reworked drop rates
Changes
Timers slightly shortened on Riverside and Mountainside
Room creators can not be vote kicked from their own rooms
Room join timeouts elongated in case you were getting UUID errors
Playing a lot of sound effects at once will no longer mute your game
Funky mirror camera in the sky bug fixed
Charges and laser sensors placed before joining a room should be synced better upon joining
Lots of little bug fixes and clean up as usual
What we're working on right now
We wanted to get this new gadget out for you all to use ASAP, but more stuff is in the works right now including:
A new official map prototype
A new SMG model
Trading up duplicate items for better ones
As usual, please join us on the Discord if you have any questions or would like to keep super up to date with developments as they happen: https://superbossgames.com/chat
Update 1772: Quality of life, Fixes, Intruder MM, & sale update
Hello agents and welcome to update 1772!
50% off Sale ends after this weekend
The 50% off sale is ending this weekend, but it was an amazing week! We brought in a ton of new players, with hundreds of matches going at a time. We got a ton of feedback and suggestions from new players so we started addressing them with multiple small updates with quality of life upgrades, bug fixes, etc. These include:
New Additions
Objective markers during spectate mode will help new players learn the maps and objective locations. These will also help you keep track of the briefcase locations and the status of the mission.
Room banning: room admins or room creators can now ban people from their rooms using the "Ban from room" button in any player info card.
Room mode now displays if a room has friendly fire or limited spectating activated. Limited spectating forces players to only spectate their own teammates.
Spectator camera with now move faster with either the crouch or sprint key
Spectator camera has a new follow collision setting to make it not clip through wall. Press F5 while spectating someone to activate
Ultra-wide support re-enabled. We may add a room setting in the future to limit this for "extra serious" play.
Tons of new outputs for different console commands so you know what's going on when you use them
More feedback provided when entering a room to let you know the modes activated (like reflective damage)
Changes
Reflective damage mode set to "all-round" by default. This will prevent TKing. Friendly fire can still be turned on by selecting a different reflective damage mode when creating a room.
Locked rooms are hidden by default in the server browser
Changed renaming of players with unknown characters in their usernames to "Agent-77" format
Removed mode filter from server browser
Mountainside bathroom stall doors can no longer lock
Mortar sound not so dang loud when it hits you right in the face
Fixes
Rep voting working again
Server browser now allows for an infinite number of rooms to display instead of only 100
Ragdoll zipline through wall glitch fixed
Red dot sight compression on low graphics settings fix
Riverside B1 push extra briefcase icon removed from objectives screen
Item cache viewer renderer improvements
Known issues
Some users are having similar issues regarding using their microphones or connecting to the game. We have compiled an FAQ thread/doc here for common issues that we will keep updating with solutions to common problems:
A new version of Intruder MM is in beta testing right now among the Intruder Map Maker community. Join the Map Maker channel on Discord ( https://superbossgames.com/chat ) for access to the update.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR PROJECT BEFORE UPGRADING MM versions.
Future Updates
Expect more updates with more content, fixes, and upgrades in the near future. Some stuff we're working on right now:
New official map prototype versions
Radial selector option for inventory items (instead of only number keys)
Item cache trading up, so you can get better items with any duplicates you have
More item cache unlocks of all kinds for your collection
Re-adding sensors and charges to inventory if picked up before they have primed
> Level 100 support
Voice overs for beginnings and ends of rounds
Better sound effects
Some of the content additions like new item cache stuff will be rolled out within smaller updates. We'll keep you up to speed with those as they happen.
Again this last week has been absolutely amazing so thank you all, agents! See you soon with the next update!

Update 1757 & SALE - 50% off, Unlocks, Item Cache, Physics, and MORE!
[previewyoutube="hCcgmK28Rw4;full"]
Greetings Agents and welcome to Intruder update build number 1757!
(edit: now 1759!)
Our first sale!!
This is the first time since Intruder's early access release that we have gone on sale! For the next week we will be %50 percent off! We're excited for this update and wanted to make sure it was more easily available for anybody looking for some stealth action.
The Update
This update is a big one, so let's break it down before we get started. First up is player progression. While levels have been introduced in a previous update, now you have something to look forward to with level rewards and the Item Cache! Next, the Intruders stepped up their game and now have a new version of their pistol codenamed The Panther. We also have a new and improved physics system for ragdolls, grenades, and other environment objects. Finally, we have some updates for the Intruder Map Maker which helps you make the game better for everyone else! Enough waiting around, it's time to dive in!
Progression System
Last time we sent you an update you saw the player progression system with XP and leveling. After each match you are awarded XP and level increases in the match summary screen. On top of that, you now acquire new items to add to your Item Cache. Some levels have preset rewards, but others are completely random, so be on the lookout for rare items!
Item Cache
Now that you're unlocking items for playing Intruder, you ought to be able to do something with them! That's where the Item Cache comes in. You can access your Item Cache in game on either the main menu, or from the team select menu when you join a match. Clicking on an Item in the cache brings it up in the inspection viewer so you can get a good look at what you'll be bringing to your next fight. After previewing, you can equip and unequip your items which you might need to do often as there are plenty to choose from!
Item Types
Skin - New weapon designs available for the Shrike and Panther
Reticle - New reticles available for the red dot and the sniper scope
Charge Sound - New sounds for when you detonate your explosive charges
Sensor Sound - New sounds for when someone sets off your motion sensor
Arm Patch - Patches for your character to show off your level
Wall Tag - Decals that can be applied to walls, floors, ceilings, and more
Hat - New hats to wear on your head
HQ Background - Backgrounds to display when you're at the HQ
Profile Background - Backgrounds to display on your player profile
You'll also notice that the room creation menu has some new options available. This new Item cache dropdown let’s you determine what items types are available for use in your room. You can choose what to allow in your room so you can go all out for some zany action or keep it plain for some competitive play.
The item cache was implemented using Steam's inventory system. This makes it really easy for us to add new items or change details on existing ones. The four tiers are Blue, Green, Orange, and Purple which have rarities common, uncommon, rare, and very rare respectively.
Another benefit of Steam is that the items you've acquired are open for trading and for sale in the marketplace. Members of secret base alpha have already been trading items during testing and it's been a ton of fun!
The Panther
The Panther is the updated pistol used by the intruders. It not only looks better, but works better too! The suppressor has been slimmed down allowing for a clearer sight picture! It also has weapon skins so be sure to unlock, trade, or even buy the skins so you can start out in style. Thank you Jake, Brayan, and Martino for the awesome art and technical work.
Ragdoll Syncing
Ragdolls are now synced more accurately for all players. Previously ragdolls were pretty accurate, but in certain scenarios slight inaccuracies could lead to a player's body falling off a ledge on one person's view while they actually haven't fallen on their end. Now ragdoll positions have much tighter tolerances and the previously mentioned scenario should not happen anymore!
Ragdolling With Weapons
Being knocked over used to leave your character literally empty handed. Now you hold on to your weapon when knocked over so you know when you shot a sniper or if they picked up one of the shotguns on the map.
The exception to this is the shield pickup. If you are knocked over with the shield out it will be dropped and can be picked up by other players! You can see Agent Bopman15 using some quick thinking to pick up a shield Agent SpoooKy3 unfortunately dropped.
Chairs as Weapons?!?!
Intruder is usually about stealth and cooperation, but sometime you just have to let out your inner wrestling star and slam someone with a chair. The good news is that now you can! By placing explosives or well-placed grenades you can launch chairs into enemies and take them out!
Intruder Map Maker 2.05 Preview
Jake and Clor have worked on the Map Maker in order to make it more accessible to people without as much knowledge in Unity. New scripts and activator updates make interactive level elements a breeze to add to your map. Player models and toolbars make it more intuitive to create and upload your maps to the workshop. Of course there's much more detail than this, so check out the Intruder MM portion of the video above in order to get a preview on what's been added! Some of the additions:
Character model references for spawn points
GUI updates for tons of scripts for easier management and use
Tool tips for everything!
Scene gizmos and UI to show the effects of your activators and other setups
Door swing angle/slide distance previews in scene view
New buttons for uploading or adding map features and game objects
Bug Fixes and QoL Improvements
As always, we are working to patch out any bugs and make Intruder smoother and more fun to play with minor changes that don't need a whole paragraph about them but are still nice to know about.
These changes include, but are not limited to:
Briefcase icon is removed when you go into spectator mode
You can now see LMS zones through the sniper scope
You no longer get stuck on small bumps that cause you to move slowly across a surface
Round timers now display correctly in IntruderMM
Ragdoll camera view can no longer look through doors or walls
Slit windows in Riverside B2 have been narrowed to prevent players from squeezing through
Walking over a friendly grenade will no longer cause reflective damage
Reflective damage from grenades is more consistent
CS gas now affects all other players in LMS game mode
Sensors and remote charge positions are now synced up between players
New visuals for capture zones
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
You can pick up a package from your teammates back. Use this as a way of getting the package from a higher location that the carrier can't quite reach!

Intruder Update 1648 - Stats, XP, Game Modes, MORE!
[previewyoutube="lqUWOk54c28;full"]
Hello everyone and welcome to Intruder update build number 1648!
In this update all agents now have a brand new player profile that contains stats, experience points, and more which can be seen at our brand new website IntruderFPS.com! Along with new profiles, this update contains new game modes on official maps and more tools for custom maps made with Intruder Map Maker.
Player Progression
When playing on ranked maps you'll notice the new Round Summaries that will list your actions for that round including kills, arrests, captures, and more. This allows you to analyze your gameplay without spoiling the stealthiness of Intruder with a kill feed that can be found in many FPS games.
Additionally, at the end of each match you will be able to see how much experience you gained from that match listed alongside your report for all rounds you played in the match. These Match Summaries show you how much experience each action gives you, and as you'll probably find out yourself, kills aren't everything. Finally, you can see your level rise as you fill up the experience gauge. You no longer need to challenge your buddy to a 1v1 on Cliffside to prove your skill!
Your player level is now displayed in the teams menu alongside your username and reputation rating so you can gain some more intel on the enemy before you plan your strategies.
Thanks to the awesome work from long time Intruder veteran DukeOfSussex, we have a beautiful and intricate new website with player stats, news, rooms lists, and the development roadmap.
Check out your personal stats page or find other agents by using the search bar or through their in-game profile card!
We are working on tracking more stats and adding more progression updates so please let us know what you would like to see by chatting with us on Discord or by leaving a comment on this article!
New Game Modes
The room creation menu has been updated to include map voting and a filtered search option, but that's not all! The new website backend allows us to make changes more quickly and allows us to put out new content such as Riverside B2 Alt or Riverside B1 Push.
Riverside B2 Alt
This mode is very similar to the default game mode, but with a few critical changes. Spawn locations have been altered so intruders spawn on the ground level of B1 and the guards spawn on the top floor of B2. The package locations have also been changed to B2 top floor Computer Lab and B2 basement Sample Room. Old strategies such as rushing Lab A or taking the vents to server room won't cut it anymore so it's up to you to find the optimal path to extract the package or create a devilishly devious rig!
Riverside B1 Push
This mode changes up Riverside even more by having the intruders spawn with the package. That's right, the package, as there is only one to pick up. Intruders must escort this package from B2 Gallery to one of the two possible extracts located inside of B1. The closer extract is located behind the front desk in B1 Lobby and the further extract is located in the B1 Executive Office. While the Intruders may seem like they have the upper hand, the shortened round timer and single package allow the guards to use their tactics and force the ball in their court.
But Wait, There's More
Like we mentioned earlier, we are now able to make additions at a faster pace and you can expect to see new game modes coming soon to the official maps you know and love. If you're reading this article right after it has been published then Mountainside Push is being tested and tweaked right now!
Map Maker Updates
Since the official maps are getting new modes, why not add a new mode to one of your custom maps with Intruder Map Maker version 2.04!
Game Mode: Hack
Included in this update are computer network prefabs that you can drag into your scene. You can add up to 60 computer nodes arranged in any network layout you want.
Game Mode: Raid
You can now add up to 10 packages and 10 capture points to your maps to allow for more diverse and exciting map ideas. You can even combine raid and hack by adding a computer network to your map alongside the packages!
Activators and Doors
Activators can now be used to lock or unlock doors in your map which can spice up gameplay and dynamically force strategy changes.
Bug Fixes and QoL Improvements
These changes include, but are not limited to:
New briefcase icon appears as part of your HUD when you have the package
New sound effect when you pick up or drop the briefcase
Riverside elevator floor display working again
End of match observe cam placement fixed for custom maps
Lockpick tooltip removed for doors which can't be lockpicked
Round timer display bug fixes
Music added to tutorial
Getting a draw on practice rounds no longer repeats the practice round
Use map changes to get to alternate Riverside modes instead of /lms or objective change button
Various tiny UI bug fixes
Mouse sensitivity bug when getting CS gassed and quitting fix
Slowmo mode will no longer affect the map vote screen
Various workshop map loading and server connection fixes
Cliffside roof security system upgrade
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
After a package has been dropped you can use explosives to blast it to a more convenient (or inconvenient) location!
The new Intruder notifications extension is out (and finally back on FireFox!) along with the new website! This new version is packed with way more features including:
See who is in each room by clicking the rooms
See what maps are being played in that room
Join a room from you web browser via the join button
