General If iRacing detects you are using an unsupported version of Windows, or iRacing is currently set to utilize a Windows Compatibility Mode for an unsupported version of Windows, a warning message will be displayed as iRacing launches (if able).
Controllers Support has been added for separating triggers on more XInput devices.
Race Control Fixed an issue at tracks like Wheatland where the pace car pulls off immediately after the Start/Finish line after going “one to green”, so if the leaders haven't crossed the Start/Finish line yet, the race could immediately go green instead of letting them do the final pace lap. Fixed an issue where cars involved in incidents that cause Cautions get marked incorrectly in the pace order. This could cause them to get a wave around at the “One to Green” right after they get shuffled to the back of the line, but then they are immediately slotted in behind the pace car ahead of the field, negating the wave around, and losing their position. For the Tire Compound Change Rule, fixed an issue where the pace car indicated it needed to change its tire compounds, or it would be disqualified. Split times are now using the correct precision to ensure the displayed values in the sim and the results match exactly. Fixed an issue that could cause user laps to be marked as invalid if they ended qualifying in an unscored state. This could also impact future events hosted on that race server.
Spotter Fixed an issue with the left/right calls in the Spanish language spotter pack. - - Thank you, Ari Cejas!
User Interface Fixed an issue with the F1 black box that caused the Driver Ahead/Behind lap times to not be reported. In the Session Information tab, fixed an issue where the measurement units were not updating properly when their format was changed.
Circuit of the Americas Track surface parameters have been adjusted slightly. This will result in a very minor grip reduction.
Fuji International Speedway Track surface parameters have been adjusted slightly. This will result in a very minor grip reduction.
Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg (All PEC Configs) - Fixed an issue that would lead to an error message about BMX files.

New Damage Model Fixed an issue where damage was being distributed incorrectly to nearby mounts. Fixed an issue for when a structure yielded to impact forces it was incorrectly calculating the deflection, causing too much damage. In particular, deflection of the other stronger object was taking far too much damage. - - This was especially noticeable for the front wings of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance. - - As a result of this change, all vehicles using the New Damage Model have been rebalanced for improved performance and realism.
Audio For the LFE system, improved the engine RPM effect. - - A low-pass filter has been added to reduce noise and a graduated RPM scale has been added to help keep the frequencies in the range most shakers can operate at, while still remaining harmonic with the sound of the engine.

Fixed an issue where the brakes were incorrectly disengaged when no throttle was applied while in Drive gear. Tire pit service duration has been reduced by about 7 seconds. The rear wing outer parts have been moved to the “car_decal” layer so they may be edited in custom paint schemes. Rear swing arm textures have been updated.
Williams FW31 Drivers of this car will now use the appropriate helmet style.

Virtual Reality Two new settings options, “UIScreenDistCM” and “UIScreenWidthCM” have been added to the [VR] sections of the “rendererDX11.ini” files. - - These new distance settings specify the depth and width (measured in centimeters) where the UI screens should render in world space. Generally, if you scale the distance you also want to scale the width about the same amount to keep the apparent size of the screen about the same, otherwise the screen may become too tiny or too large to utilize. When the Sim is launched from the iRacingUI with a specific display device request (OpenVR, Rift, OpenXR, Monitors), the Simulator will no longer try to detect/initialize unrelated VR HMDs/runtimes unnecessarily. Fixed the OpenXR re-centering issue where the head position tracking would be in the wrong direction after re-centering. For example, if the re-center rotated 90 degrees, the position tracking would be off by 90 degrees.

Virtual Reality Devices Native OpenXR support has been added to augment our native Oculus VR and OpenVR support. - - You may select OpenXR from the Display Mode picker in the iRacingUI before launching the Simulator. The OpenXR option will only show as available if the currently "active" OpenXR runtime selected on your PC reports that it is compatible with your HMD. In order to do this, first you will need to make sure you have the best OpenXR runtime set as "active" on your PC. There are several different OpenXR runtimes available, but only one is "active" on your PC at a time. And you want to make sure the "active" one is the best one for your HMD. - - - - NOTE: depending on your HMD, more than one runtime may be compatible, but only one is best. For instance: - - - - - - If using an Oculus HMD, you should use the Oculus OpenXR runtime directly, but you still have the option to try the SteamVR OpenXR runtime (Not worth trying). - - - - - - For Windows Mixed Reality compatible HMDs, you should first try using the Windows WMR OpenXR runtime (over SteamVR), but often these HMDs can also fall back to SteamVR's OpenXR runtime. - - - - - - For other HMDs, such as the Valve Index, the SteamVR OpenXR runtime is what you want. - - - - - - And there are also other OpenXR runtimes by some other HMD manufacturers. - - Generally, you should use the VR application software for the HMD to select its OpenXR runtime as "active". For instance: - - - - To select Oculus as active, you run the Oculus App, and in the settings, there is a button to make Oculus the active runtime (if it is already active it says that and the button is disabled). - - - - To select SteamVR's OpenXR runtime as active, launch SteamVR, and there is a similar button inside the steamVR settings to set it active. - - - - To select the Window's WMR OpenXR runtime as active, one method is to install the Microsoft "OpenXR tools for Mixed Reality" application, and use its settings to select WMR's runtime as "active". - - NOTE: There is a compatibility issue with the third party OpenXR toolkit application. The developer is aware of the issue. If you have that third party tool installed, and the Simulator crashes during startup when using OpenXR, you can go into that toolkit application and temporarily disable it while running iRacing using its settings. The Simulator is using an OpenXR feature correctly, but the Toolkit doesn't support that feature yet.
CARS: -------------------------------------------------------------- Dirt Sprint Car (ALL) - For the New Damage Model, the broken actuator models have been updated to better reflect damage when the wing is ripped off.
Radical SR10 For the New Damage Model, some damage morphs have been improved. For the Old Damage Model, fixed an issue where the mirror stems were not removed when the nose was detached.
TRACKS: -------------------------------------------------------------- Atlanta Motor Speedway (Oval) - North is now north. (Oval) - Ambient occlusion for posts has been updated. (Oval) - Pavement textures have been darkened. (Oval) - Fixed an issue with some dark lines appearing in the grass.

The friction coefficient for concrete walls has been increased slightly to make wallriding less advantageous. Fixed some inconsistencies with how an opponent car or car part would signal the player car that it was having an impact moment.
Graphics If compute shaders are disabled, do not instantiate the AMD FSR post-processing effects. 2022 Season 3 Patch 1 Hotfix 1 Release Notes [2022.06.16.01]
Rendering Removed a previous change that disabled the compute shaders functionality when iRacing detected certain AMD graphics cards to be in use. - - This fix was causing severe graphical errors for PC users with AMD 500-Series graphics cards. - - This fix was originally for our MacBook Pro users using Bootcamp. Unfortunately, this roll-back means the original bug will affect them once again. A long-term fix is in the works.
