It's A Wipe! Update 1.9.4 - Small Update, but Bigger Changes Coming to Beta

Hello All,

One big change that should hopefully fix an issue some people have had with the game not loading properly. Apparently the engine would crash out with some graphics cards when doing a check to see if it was Direct 3D compatible. In this build, it now only checks for D3D compatibility if OpenGL fails or Force Direct 3D has been set. Other than that, a minor fix for viewing character are and an updated Steam API.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Now With Less Crashing *
- Updated executable that no longer does extraneous D3D checks.

* That's Not A Cleric! *
- Fixed an issue in view character art, which was showing the wrong image.

* More Steam *
- Updated to use the latest Steam API.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other news, Player Made Content (and a Steam Workshop) should be coming to Beta shortly!

We're looking to target it being put into the Live build next month for the 1 year Steam anniversary. Right now we've got a system setup to play content, but haven't got an automated builder done yet. If you want to put in your thoughts on this upcoming feature head on over to the community forums.

It's A Wipe Update 1.9.3! (Or, the I'm not dead yet patch)

Hello All!

Sorry for the long time between updates, but I've been distracted with other people's nice games and starting work on a more serious take on a fantasy guild management game. No ETA on when that will be done (It's A Wipe! took two years to make), but I decided to take a little break and do some work on I.A.W! Here is what's new in 1.9.3:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* No Really, I Did Stuff! *
- Updated the library for handling some of the graphics files.

* BOTS - Even Easier *
- Useless morale items will no longer drop in BOTS difficulty.

* Where's My Loot!?! *
- Fixed a small 2% hole in the loot table for the third fight of the third Fiery Core raid where loot would not drop.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As always, I hope that you enjoy the game and please let me know if you have any issues or suggestions!

Music Of It's A Wipe!

Hello All,

For anyone that enjoys the music from It's A Wipe! the artist has put it up here. There's some bonus early editions of tracks that didn't end up being used in the released game. We hope that you'll check it out and enjoy!

Patches for It's A Wipe!

Hello All,

Most of these fixes were stealth patched over the past couple of months, but finally calling it a new build :)

Here is what is new in build 1.9.2:
------------

*Sound Off/Sound On*

- Fixed an issue where the sound would sometimes not be re-enabled after the game was paused by alt-tabbing when tabbing back.

*No More Multiple Personalities*

- Fixed an issue where creating your character with the same player name as a custom created player name for one of the other characters would cause one of the characters to disappear after saving.

*Charming*

- Fixed an issue with the sorting in determining whom a charmed player will attack. Occasionally they would incorrectly attack the target of a different monster.

*Beating A Dead Horse*

- Fixed an issue with switching tanks in combat not sorting properly or inappropriately listing dead monsters.

*The Boring Stuff*

- Updated the Steam interface .dll to the newest version.

-------------

Please let us know if you do encounter any other issues! We hope that you enjoy the game!

It's A Wipe! Mini-patch

Hello All,

A few small clean ups to the renaming functionality added in the last patch. Calling this one 1.9.1 since it's so small.

What's new in this version:

*Name Space*
- Added in restrictions to the length of the name fields to match the typical player/character name lengths.

*Who IS That?*
- Added a class display under the names, and tool tips on the selections that display some basic information about the character you are renaming.

*It Should Fit*
- Added one extra character to the player's character name limit! Go nuts! ;)

It's A Wipe! New Update (Version 1.9)

Hello All,

A couple of requested enhancements making their way out for the public!
Here's what is new in version 1.9:

------------
*The Name Game*

- You may not rename characters (and players) when starting a new game. There is also a Rename Scroll available for purchase that will let you perform a rename for all characters on a game in progress. (Except your character for some technical reasons... and I wanted to get this posted).

There is also a DefaultNames.txt file in the game\data folder that can be modified to change the default list of character names. A modified version of this can be moved into the %appdata% folder for the game (where config.txt is stored) to prevent any changes from being overwritten by integrity checks on the code.

*The New Easy*

- A new BOTS game mode has been added. This is an easier style of game play where morale is disabled.

*Can't Spend It All In One Place*

- Fixed a minor issue where you couldn't purchase an item if you had exactly enough gold for it in the guild bank.

*Background Fixes*

- A few other minor items were corrected that we came across while reworking code, but they shouldn't have impacted gameplay. Some objects were registering mouse clicks, even though they didn't do anything. Stuff like that.
---------

There were a lot of internal changes to support the name change functionality, so hopefully we didn't break anything too major that we missed in testing :veryhappyraider: ! Thanks to user [FG]Benbe/Elska for fnding some bugs with BOTS while it was still in the Beta build. We hope that you enjoy the changes and let us know if any odd behavior got introduced ;)

It's A Wipe Update!

Hello All,

A few changes (hopefully improvements) to the game based on feedback. There are still a couple of larger updates that I want to do, and some of these changes are part of that... but, I also wanted to post an update before too long :)

Here is what is new in version 1.86:

*Less Stupid Bards*

- Bards will now cast more appropriate songs to the situation... sometimes. Generally you will see less completely useless songs for a turn.

* No Longer in Triplicate*
- You will no longer see more than duplicate loot drops. There is also now an announcement of all of the drops. Eventually this will be updated to a screen where you can see all of the items before assigning them (when time permits to redesign this more).

*DPS Warriors*
- The base warrior threat modifies has been dropped from x3 to x2, as part of an overall adjustment to threat numbers. The bonus for the threat modifier on Tanks has been increased, so Warriors tanking should still maintain their prior threat. DPS Warriors will have noticeably less threat and other classes that try to Tank will have slightly more threat.

*Tank Priorities*
- You can now set attack priorities for Tank characters on the DPS priority screen during raid planning.

*Tanks More Reactive*
- Tanks will now react to general DPS focusing and stoppage of DPS.

*Keyboard shortcuts*
- From the raider selection screen, the 1,2, & 3 keys will now toggle to the corresponding load/save raid configuration option.

Not sure how many other people have been testing with the Beta testing build, so if I did introduce any new issues I may have missed them with just me trying to test everything. If you do notice any problems, please let us know. We hope that you enjoy these changes and there will be some more to come in a few more weeks! :happyraider:

Small Patch for It's A Wipe!

Hello All,

Doing a small patch to address one issue, with a couple small tweaks thrown in! Not exactly a lot of changes, so we're calling this one Version 1.8 1/2 (1.85). Here's what's new:

*Longer Sessions Should Stay Running*
- After a lot of testing, finally found an issue where the game would often crash when it tried to clean the log of game activities - which was when it hit around 10,000 entries. Made a correction to this, which hopefully will prevent these seemingly random crashes.

*Invisible Bugs Fixed*
- Fixed a minor scheduling issue on Ludicrous speed with the first fight of the last raid. I don't think it actually impacted play, but found it while doing debugging testing for the top issue.

*Threat Item Adjustment*
- The Bull and Dove lines have had their stats tweaked, along with the Angry Troll Stick. They should now have more impact if equipped.

*PVE now Easier on the Player*
- The morale loss for item envy was nerfed on PVE mode. The raiders may not slip into a spiral of despair and hate quite as quickly :veryhappyraider:

*Missing Patch Note*
- A couple of patches back we added multiple save/load buttons for the Raider Selection screen. Forgot to put it on the patch notes though. The documentation also still needs to be updated for this (note to self).

That's all for now! We hope you enjoy the game!

It's A Wipe! Patch 1.18S! New Game Mode Option!

Hello All!

We have posted up a small patch with one big enhancements, and a couple minor tweaks. Here are the details:

*Raid Reset Options*
- When starting a game you can now choose to have raids reset on a daily or weekly basis. If you wipe with the Weekly Reset option, it will start from the fight you lost on when attempting the raid again - until the week ends. We originally didn't add this so people wouldn't get stuck being unable to farm older fights for loot, but people requested it so we made it an available :)

*Minor Trinket Tweaks*
- Warriors can no longer use the Dove line of Trinkets and only Warriors can now use the Bull line of trinkets.

*Easy, Now Slightly Easier*
- Minor adjustments to PVE mode morale. Characters will lose -slightly- less morale when not getting items.

Let us know if you run into any issues with the game game mode, and as always we hope that you enjoy the game!

Shiny New Updates for It's A Wipe! (Version 1.17S!)

Hello All!

With most of the bugs reported addressed, we have started looking at adding some more quality of life improvements. We plan on doing further semiregular updates over the next couple of months to try to knock out some of the enhancements that we can do without needing lots of new art or major reworks... Then, we'll take a look at what we can do for those :) The next patch will focus on adding an option to do a weekly raid reset game mode.

Anyhow, here is what's new in version 1.17S:

*Offline Steam Play*

- You can now play the game in Offline mode on Steam. Stats and achievements will not update when playing offline, but you can at least play the game if you lose internet connectivity!

*Insanity Returns - Ludicrous Speed Updated*

- Since many of the underlying problems caused by Ludicrous speed have been corrected, we upped the speed to be quite a bit faster. You probably won't get to read much of the text without the announcement log open, but people who wanted a faster play mode should hopefully appreciate this! There were a lot of timing tweaks for this and we tried to test everything, but it is possible that we missed something this breaks. If anyone runs into any new issues with this mode please let us know!

*Minor Raid User Interface Cleanup*

- We noticed that there were a few confusing portions when using the keyboard and mouse on Raid selections where there were several layers of selection. Also corrected an issue where you could incorrectly confirm an invalid command by using a specific series of key presses and mouse clicks. Probably nothing most people will notice :)

We hope that you are enjoying the game! :veryhappyraider:
