- Incremental updates to both chunking of the city and VRAM usage which should further help both CPU & GPU load. This is a continuing process.
Two New Missions:
Thoccer - Thad's shooting #sponsored content for the latest item to hit Rockhaven's streets, the Gorb, or giant inflatable Orb. Head on over to Big Hit driving range and treat Thad like a soccer ball, ruining the video shoot in the process. Stop the Yappin - Spud's on North Beach enjoying a beer and a moment away from his wife and kids, but a pack of dogs won't stop barking nearby. Take Spud's water cannon and see if you can put an end to the noise.
Two New Locations:
Big Hit Driving Range
Party Palace
Three new items all purchasable at the Party Palace:
Gorb: Roll around Rockhaven in style. Encase yourself in a rubber sphere and experience traversal like never before. Just watch out for innocent passerbyers, as it reportedly hurts a lot to be rolled over by one of these.
Mini-Trampoline: Deploy one at your feet to go flying, or throw it at someone elses feet to give them an unexpected voyage to the sky above. Try it next time a squad of cops is chasing you.
Water Cannon: And they said Rockhaven had no guns. High pressure streams of water not only knock you back, enabling rocket jump-esque movement possibilities, but whoever's unfortunate enough to catch the bolts of water will shriek in pain as they ragdoll to the ground.
Two new Vehicles:
Oxen Tradie
The workman's van of choice, the Oxen Tradie is perfectly suited to carrying a lot of stuff around. This includes friends, stolen goods, or if you're lucky enough to spot a Rockhaven Conservation version of this vehicle, procure it and check the inventory: You'll have a batch of new Slimeway competitors at your disposal.
Tiger Clubbie
Just like the Oxen Mulcher, the Tiger Clubbie is another smaller, slower vehicle that's perfect for weaving in and out of the tight alleys of Rockhaven. Find a Clubbie at the Big Hit Driving Range and take it for a wee spin.
New Cosmetics:
Party Palace also stocks a range of hats, such as Cones, or Squid hats. You can even score your own Pat the Dog mask, if that's your thing!
Hotfix 8 NOW LIVE!
Hey everyone,
Kicking off the week with a wee hotfix to rectify some of the issues found over the weekend. We're full swing on developing Chapter One (which we'll talk about soon in a blog post), but will continually do performance fixes/updates every Monday (NZST) and more through the week if needed. Additionally, every Friday (NZST) we will continue to deploy a Minor Content patch. People asking for expanded inventory size and other upgrades might want to take a peep this week..
Vehicles
- Extended Axles and improved collision for the Oxen Mulcher
UI/UX
- Added undiscovered locations to DestiNation, as well as a counter indicating full completion of discoveries. This will dynamically change as we add more discoverable locations.
- Moved sell All Junk button.
- Mission counter on GetAJob now properly reflects mission count in-game
Bugs
- Now correctly reading if a player owns the Founders Pack or not. Some users were experiencing an issue where if a client joined the game without owning the DLC, it would cause other players who do indeed own it not to see their verified crookbook tag and Box Knight outfit in wardrobes.
- Weapons now properly displaying and accessible in Car Inventories (Crutches and Tennis Rackets)
- TR3 (Ride On) Mission now should properly show markers as to where to go (Welty's house), and the incoming texts from Welty should now show correctly as well
- Oxen Mulchers should now properly respawn in world outside Hardware shops
Minor Content Update #1 NOW LIVE
Hey everyone,
First off: The game's been out for a week! As most of you know, it was a fairly rocky start and there's still work to do when it comes to bug fixing and increasing performance across the hardware spectrum, but we endeavoured to fix as much as we could over the past 7 days, and we'll continue to target problematic areas of the game and improve them. (Here's the hotfix notes incased you missed any!)
A huge thanks to everyone who joined the discord and reported the issues, and our continued appreciation for those who continue to share issues and suggestions.
On the note of appreciation, a heartfelt thanks from our small team of 5. We know this is early days, and there's a hunger for a lot more of Rockhaven's goofy antics. If you've at all shared something nice about the game, know that it meant the world to our team to see you enjoy the game. We don't take it for granted.
As mentioned in our "How we approach Early Access" blog post, we plan to drop one "Minor Content" update every week while we work on the Major Chapter updates. Additionally in the blog, we mentioned we might not get to these for a few weeks, but surprise! We got the first one in store. Let's tuck in:
Missions
Pat the Dog: Yet another annoying Crookbook influencer grabs the attention of our player. Patrick, or better known as "Pat the Dog" to the locals, hosts an annoying Crookbook live show where he demands any passer-byer to indulge him.
Ranger: Teardown: In a continued effort to teach the player about the Bounty system, Ranger explains the bounty posters for those who are yet caught up to speed with the concept.
Tikey's Treats 3: Tikey's not feeling so well after eating Snails and Air Fresheners. He's claiming he's seen a sentient Hot Dog walking around the beach.
Trinny: Ride On: Trinny needs another ride stolen, but not just anything on the streets of Rockhaven will do. Something a little more.. purpose built
Clothing
As requested by community member "MoonDemon", a selection of cheaper kicks has been made available to all three Bo Jumbly locations in Rockhaven. The "Trainer" shoe debuts in 9 colorways, 3 for each store (Trenchtown Bo Jumbly/North Beach Bo Jumbly/Green Island Bo Jumbly). At only $100 a piece it's an approachable way to add a bit of flair to ya feet.
Weapons
Another common bit of feedback we received was the lack of weapon variety currently in game. We had added a frying pan weapon to every MayorMart location in an earlier fix, but as of today there's even more. Additionally, MOVR's will now spawn and use a variety of weapons instead of just Batons.
Electric Guitar (Purchased from Oboe Electric) Acoustic Guitar (Purchased from Oboe Electric) Flower Bouquet (Purchased from Fill Up! Gas stations) Steel Crutches (Found in Car inventories) Tennis Racket (Found in Car inventories)
Vehicles
Added a new vehicle, the ride-on lawnmower: Oxen Mulcher
The ball's rolling on Chapter One, and we look forward to talking to the Discord community about the works in progress. The team's looking forward to expanding on the seeds planted in Chapter Zero. Additionally, we'll continue to do Hotfixes to rectify issues found, and continue on with these weekly content drops.
Thanks again to everyone who has enjoyed the game so far,
- The Usual Suspects team

Hotfix 4 Now LIVE
Hey everyone,
Another daily hotfix and this is the 4th! We've got a range of fixes and stability improvements involving Multiplayer, Savegames and more.
Fixes
Fixed ATM's not sending or receiving money properly in multiplayer
Added feedback to 'Save and Quit' for clients
Added more Savegame stability to prevent loss of saves

Fixed multiple food item tooltips relaying incorrect values of effects
Fixed clients seeing a white box as their weapon when joining another player
Fixed Tikey missions not showing a HUD marker back to his barrel during jobs
Doubled Slimeway betting time to 30 seconds
Fixed the Verified Tick showing in GetaJob when the player doesn't know the Founders Pack
Fixed some small padding issues in LandLord app
Fixed some typos throughout dialogue texts
Again another huge thanks to those who's helped us identify issues and shown support. We're going to keep at it as always!
Here comes Hotfix 3. Included this time is a new mission giver. Say hello to Tikey, a shipwrecked merchant sailor stuck in the foreign land of America. Tikey's Treats will be a continuing story arc, with the first 2 parts included in this hotfix. To access Tikey's missions, you must complete the Beggar King's mission: "Moving & Shaking".
Overhauled Save/Load System
Additionally, players expressed frustration at the save system, especially in concert with the range of problems that can cause crashes or having to reload. We're truly apologetic. This is entirely on us as a team, and we should have done better. Thankfully, the save system was robust enough that even if you lost a save and the option to continue, the new Save/Load menu will have your saved content there to load. The save/load front-end will be a continuing evolution. We'll expose more information as we move forward.
Performance:
Decreased VRAM usage, which should lead to improved and more consistent performance. This is an ongoing process which we'll keep at for as long as people are having issues.
Player Adjustments:
Inventory Capacity increased by 10KG before encumbered takes effect
Adjustments to items:
Singular Snails now weigh 0KG (down from 1) Snail Bags now weigh 1KG (Down from 3) Snail Crates now weigh 2KG (Down from 5) Chunkum Fish Cans now restore 30 Hunger Mayormart Food Pucks now restore 20 Hunger Removed Legacy Perk from Cowboy Time Darts
New Item
Junk - Air Freshener (Spawns in Cars, sold at Fill Up! Stations)
City Adjustments
Purged overlapping and duplicate physics objects
Text Adjustments
Removed some duplicate dialogue in quests.
A huge thanks to those who's helped us identify issues and shown support. We're going to keep at it.
Hotfix 2 NOW LIVE
Hey everyone,
Another hotfix is deploying that we hope further improves performance across a spectrum of hardware.
A potential fix for some NPC's becoming invisible and pushing you around (let us know if this continues)
Fixed a particular Car missing their engine audio when driving
In-Game cutscenes will now respect the audio sliders you set
A potential fix for changing texture detail level crashing the game (let us know if this continues)
Changing the Nanite option in game will now prompt you to restart to force the changes to take effect
Added the ability to jump during the Encumbered state to help you get out of tricky areas
Spawning ease-in during the "Man with No Name" mission to give players more time to prepare
Hunger depletes 20% slower
Navmesh generation optimised further to help decrease CPU load
Additional set dressing improvements to: North Beach Mayormart
Reduced cursor speed when using a controller/gamepad
Additionally, while this is a hotfix, we've added a new weapon to the game, which is available to purchase in any Mayormart. The Steel Frying Pan is yet another thing you can bonk MOVR's over the head with.
Hotfix 1 Now LIVE
Hot Fix 1 has gone live. Please verify files on Steam to ensure you get it. Additionally, please make sure you have the latest drivers for your GPU.
Added a loading screen to reassure and confirm that single player offline sessions are being created and loaded. In the previous version this would appear as if the game was hanging (when it was instead loading), causing some to think the game wasn't playable offline. We apologize for the confusion here.
Improved LOD performance, draw calls, vram usage, ram usage, and cpu performance. This should be dramatically noticable on lower end hardware, and hopefully appreciable on more modern systems - however we know there's more to be done here, and tailored work will need to be done as we investigate reports from people with varying hardware.
Fixed the VRAM error causing the game to crash on some PC's, Steam Decks and ROG Allys.
Please ensure you play with AI/Vehicle Density, as well as the quality of distant buildings options to find a happy medium for your machine. Also, if Nanite being enabled produces visual oddities, we've found moving to the latest GPU drivers or restarting the game should rectify these immediately.
Please, keep sending us the issues you're having, our discord is the best way. We understand most will be the game is running poorly for you and you'll want to leave it at that, but if you can provide some additional information, such as location in the city, the activity, whether it's a MP session or your hardware spec, that'll help us isolate bad stuff and prioritize fixes.
Our apologies to those who wanted the game to run a heck of a lot better. We're going to keep chipping away at this.
