Player

  • New vaulting system allows character to climb over the top of obstacles such as fences and walls.
  • Player jump height has been slightly reduced, so vaulting and climbing make more sense.
  • Player can now climb out of water onto ledges.
  • Replaced ladder climbing animations with improved motion capture animations.
  • Player can now slide down ladders by descending while holding [Shift].
  • Added new leaning animations while free-looking [Alt] on ladder.
  • Fixed camera becoming stuck when getting on ladder in ADS (Aim Down Sight).
  • Improved detection for when getting on the top of ladders.

  • Fixed free-look [ALT] functionality which was causing the player’s head to get stuck in a single direction.
  • Added new Amy voice lines when her weapon jams or is low on ammo.
  • Added new voice lines variations when Amy is on low hunger or hydration.
  • Reduced rate at which hunger and hydration decreases.



Game

  • Help pop-up menus which freeze the game no longer appear on their own when doing activities. The help prompts can still be accessed by clicking on question mark help (?) symbols.
  • Can Openers can now be found as individual pieces of domestic loot in houses and other places spawning loot. This addition will also make them slightly more common.
  • Added ‘Old Rucksack’ which the player can equip.
  • Weapon optics in ADS now use FOV to change their zoom level instead of a 2D screen capture for performance.
  • Antialiasing now defaults to FXAA. Temporal AA currently causes some visual issues with the new Vitals HUD.


Quests

  • Partial fix for overlapping audio dialogue in questline. Extra quest audio in hardware store should no longer start over the top of main dialogue.


Environment

  • Fixed various floating trash items around the map.
  • Expanded Hanouten with start of a new area on the west side.
  • Added new walkways to Hanouten safezone.
  • Replaced small portable cabins with new larger ones.
  • Revamped liveable area in Hanouten with improved asset performance optimisation.

Player


  • New hair for Amy with physics movement. Hair movement can also be affected by the weather.
  • Fixed camera breaking after moving in to water while in Aim Down Sight (ADS).
  • Player can no longer lean while swimming.
  • Fixed player camera going in to ADS after reloading while holding down Right Mouse Button. Camera now returns to over the shoulder view as intended.
  • Picking up items no longer locks or affects the player’s movement.
  • Picking up items no longer forces player to holster their weapon.
  • Pocketing sound effect when picking up items now varies slightly.
  • Player can now pick up many items much faster because pickups are no longer limited by lengthy animation sequences.
  • Player no longer unholsters and reholsters their weapon when picking up other weapons.

Game



  • Fixed frame rate spike caused when looting debris on the ground.
  • Fixed issue where debris would not fade away correctly on pickup.
  • Fixed issue where rocks would disappear when harvested with a pickaxe, rather than crumble.
  • Fixed looting quad bike from causing other lootable items to always spawn car parts.
  • Game ambient music and sound is reduced while radio audio is playing.
  • Added Sheriff Sen signature stinger audio.
  • Reverted back to original system of map loading (before version 0.2.0.3a) in response to performance issues. Additionally expected to improve cases where loading a game causes character to fall though the landscape.
  • Fixed censorship option to be on by default.
  • Added user setting for Anti-Aliasing (AA) method.

  • Restructure of player weapons management. Players can now pick up multiple weapons of any kind and keep them in their inventory. Collected weapons can be swapped out in the ‘Character’ tab.
  • Weapons no longer spawn with ammunition in the magazine.
  • Taking a weapon out of an equipment slot will now return the ammunition inside the magazine to the player’s inventory, allowing it to be used for other firearms.
  • Fixed various issue preventing weapon HUD not showing or hiding.

  • Fixed player receiving a duplicate weapons in their inventory when picking up another weapon of the same type (e.g. replacing an AR with another AR).

  • Fixed issue where weapons could not be reclaimed directly from the player’s loot bag after death.
  • Fixed issue where weapons could not be picked up from player’s loot bag after the loot had been emptied onto the floor.
  • Reworked keybinding system to allow changes to axis inputs (WASD movement).
  • Fixed flashlight orientation when weapon is raised.
  • Added clothing and backpack foley audio when Amy is moving.
  • Fixed weapon HUD not showing at correct times.
  • Starting inventory loot is now capped at the maximum stack limit for each item (e.g. building materials are no longer set to 9999).

  • Fixed Wanderers spawning without a head.
  • Fixed Wanderers not being able to do any damage or get knocked down.
  • Fixed circumstance where loot bags dropped by Wanderers would despawn too quickly or not spawn at all.

We are keen to keep the updates as regular as possible, but increasing our development window between updates will allow us to focus more time on some of the border issues which require the benefit a longer fix time and testing.

Player

  • Increased rate at which oxygen depletes when submerged in water.
  • Added new bloody damage display (no more grey screen when getting hit).
  • Disabled sidewards and backwards swimming.
  • Player now moves slower when wading through shallow water.
  • Added radio to character’s belt.
  • Fixed camera from clipping into the character, especially when stood in building interiors.
  • New leaning system [Q]/[E]. Allows player to peak around corners.
  • [Q] no longer holsters the equipped weapon. Tap the weapon’s key [1]/[2]/[3] to either take out or holster it.
  • [E] is no longer used for as an action key. You can now tap [F] to do an action or hold [F] to interact. For example, tap [F] to ignite a campfire and hold [F] to interact with the items on top of it.
  • Character’s head now follows the orientation of the camera while looking around in Focus Mode. Hold [L-ALT] to enter focus mode and free look around the character while highlighting items that can be picked up.
  • Fixed issue where building menu could be opened while in the inventory.
  • Added new ST-RV system to character’s wrist. Character will look at ST-RV display to check their vitals while holding down [V] (new UI and interactions in development for ST-RV System).
  • Campfires are now constructed from the ‘Building Menu’ [noparse][B][/noparse] in the ‘Basic Survival Tab’. They are no longer crafted and kept in the inventory.
  • Campfires can now be destroyed. Use the ‘Delete Tool’ from the ‘Building Menu’ [noparse][B][/noparse] to remove them.


Game

  • Fixes for loading and saving. In a bid to improve reliability of saving and loading the game, you will need to start a new game from v0.1.5a in order to ensure that your save file is up to date. We apologise for the inconvenience of saved games lost, although this is necessary in order to fix some saving and loading issues.
  • Fixed cooked and burned meat appearing jumbo-sized.
  • Fixed bug where picking up meat off the grill while not in the campfire was not updating the number of free slots on the grill.
  • Fixed circumstance where metal grill could be picked up off the campfire even though meat was placed on top.
  • Meat can now be dragged out of the inventory and dropped directly on to the campfire grill, rather than having to drop it above or to the side of the grill.
  • Fixed circumstance where raw meat could not be added to the campfire grill.
  • Improved performance when spawning a campfire.
  • Fixed campfire properties saving and loading properly. Items placed on the campfire, the ignition status and fuel visuals (e.g. fresh wood / burned wood) are now being saved.
  • Fixed tapping ‘F’ to light the campfire causing the camera to be offset.
  • Fixed Fan Belt item which no longer appears as an empty object (cat-box) in the world.
  • Added five additional “Shats” tinned food variants.
  • Prison shirt and trousers now recycle into cloth and twine.
  • Improved random loot item spawning system.
  • Spawned firearms now lay on their side.

  • Fixed issue where Wanderers could not be killed unless they had been shot in the head.

    Wanderers no longer freeze/twitch when the player shoots their weapon.


Building

Player

  • Added new distanced based icon system to make loot items on the ground more visible.
  • Fixed situation where Amy’s clothes could disappear while ragdolling.
  • Minor optimisation improvements on character’s ragdoll.
  • Fixed bug where Amy would not be able to jump if taking a single large amount of damage.
  • Painkillers are now consumable. Provides 25 health with a debuff on hunger and hydration for 120 seconds.
  • Added fully operational Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).
  • Fixed issue where ammunition was not being added to the players inventory when picked up.
  • Removed requirement to have 100 feathers to craft a sleeping bag.
  • Consumable items will now return empty containers back to your inventory when used (e.g. water bottles return scrap plastic, canned food returns an empty tin can, etc.).



Game

  • Fixed various issues preventing player from successfully reloading a save-game properly.
  • Fixed various issues preventing player from successfully respawning after death properly.
  • Fixed issue where respawning after death would cause Amy to appear naked for a short while.
  • Fixed issue where, upon loading a save game, Amy would appear in the wrong location or below the landscape for a short while.
  • Fixed issue where splitting open containers (e.g. trash bags) caused items to spawn below the ground.
  • Fixed collisions for white trucks and Humvee.
  • Fixed floor collisions in store building that caused some lootable items to spawn in the ground.



AI

  • Fixed issue where AI could spawn and attack the player before they had finished initialising into the game.
  • Reduced range at which Wanderers will notice the player.
  • Optimisation of wanderer spawning and despawning.
  • Wanderers will now walk to investigate sounds made by the player, but will then run as normal if they identify the player.
  • Looting now causes some level of disturbance that can cause nearby wanderers to investigate the noise.
  • When the player makes a noise, Wanderers will now move towards the location where the noise happened, not just directly after the player who instigated the noise. This means players can now create a noise to attract wanderers in their direction then relocate without being immediately chased down.
  • Removed randomness on headshots. Headshots now always kill wanderers.
  • Optimised spawning of loot bags. This was the likely cause of notable lag spike noticed when killing wanderers.
  • Fixed spawning of loot bags to prevent them appearing in rooms above the wanderer that dropped it.



Building

  • Fixed gap between building parts when placing a ceiling or floor piece to a wall.
  • Improved snapping area for ceilings and floors connecting to walls to make placing these pieces more comfortable.



Environment

  • Replaced streetlights around Hanouten.
  • Removed some minor particle effects which were having a notable performance impact.
  • Fixed issue where streetlight effects were not being disabled when they should.
  • Reworked player spawn locations. Players now always start on the Hanouten beach with a nearby firearm, pair of NVGs and other starting loot.
  • Reworked Hanouten boat repairs and storage area.
  • Reworked West Marshlands completely. Added new foliage, waterways and areas which will be developed further in the future.
