Welcome to our Update 6 Highlight where we'll be exploring what's going to be included in the upcoming free update for Jurassic World Evolution 2. This update will be free for everyone who owns the game, and will be available on March 30, alongside the launch of the Feathered Species Pack, which you can find out more about here.
Let's take a closer look!
Remote Viewing Galleries An exciting new addition we have in Update 6 are Remote Viewing Galleries! Introducing brand new ways to decorate your park, we've added two building attractions, the Log Viewing Gallery and the Dome Viewing Gallery. These new building pieces can be placed anywhere in an enclosure to allow your guests to get up close and personal with their favourite prehistoric species. Of course, within the safety of the gallery!
Disguising itself amongst the natural enclosure, the Log Viewing gallery is as the name suggests! As you can place these anywhere inside an enclosure, you will need to ensure they are connected to an entrance building using an underground connection. Once they are connected, your guests will be able to journey into these viewing galleries to experience up close dinosaur interactions.
The dome viewing gallery, much like the log viewing gallery, will also need an underground connection to an entrance building to work as intended. This particular gallery is the perfect addition to the Aviaries. Watch your flying reptiles soar through the sky and if you are lucky, they may even perch alongside your gallery for a unique encounter. We are sure these glass domes will give your guests an entirely new perspective!
You can find both of these viewing galleries in the 'attractions' menu. We're looking forward to seeing all the ways you decide to use these new additions in your enclosures and aviaries!
Cinematic Camera Mode For those with a keen eye for photography, we've added a new Cinematic Camera Mode. We can't wait to see what you do with this new feature! The cinematic camera will allow you to transition between camera angles and viewpoints across your park to instantly snap those picture perfect views and exciting interactions between your prehistoric species.
This mode will be accessed through Capture Mode and you will even be able to add existing overlays of postcards, stamps, logos, letterboxes, filters and guidelines to enhance your photos with a truly personal touch. Make sure to share your screenshots with us once you get a chance to try it out.
Zipline Variants Variants to the Zipline attraction that was first added in Update 1.5.10, on the 1st anniversary of Jurassic World Evolution 2 are also being introduced.
Now you can choose between the new DFW Zipline or a Jurassic Park zipline variant to decorate your parks with! These variants will be era limited, therefore you will only be able to mix eras on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One you will choose between either for your parks. Which one will you be opting for to entertain your guests?
Sandbox Mode Sandbox mode is also getting a plethora of additions in update 6, let's take a look at what we've added! 6 new square levels will be available for you in Sandbox mode that are all based on the 6 different biome types in the game. Southwest USA, San Diego and California levels will also be getting 3 expanded square levels.
Some more settings in sandbox are also being introduced, such as Unlimited Feeder Reserves, Income tax, Wild Capture Frequency and Decoration Foliage. If you choose to turn on the Unlimited Feeder Reserves setting, feeders will no longer need to be refilled by the ranger team, freeing up management time.
Income tax and wild capture frequency settings can both be toggled in 4 levels: none, low, medium and high, so you have full control of how much income your park generates and how often wild capture events will occur. For the wild capture frequency to be adjustable you will need to make sure 'expeditions and fossils' setting is also turned on. Lastly, the decoration Foliage setting will allow you to use foliage from all biomes or the level's specific biome as you choose, this will only be available on new generation consoles. We hope these new settings will be a rewarding addition to managing your parks in sandbox mode.
Quality of Life Changes Of course we can't forget all the quality of life updates coming your way in Update 6!
No need to wait for toilets, amenities and shelters to be built over time anymore, as they will now be built instantly. We've also added the ability to place multiples of the same building without needing to enter the build menu each time, with a quick shortcut. Just use Ctrl + Left Mouse Button on keyboard and R3 on controller!
Small dinosaurs are also being given more behaviours in Update 6. They will now be able to raise their heads when walking through water and even navigate through areas where they would have been blocked before.
Combat for Sauropods has also been adjusted to improve the quality of their fights. They will now take damage in chunks rather than continuously and begin bleeding out once they reach 15% health. Feedback for when the bleed out state is affecting a dinosaur has also been added, so you'll be able to manage your injured dinosaurs more efficiently.
To further facilitate these changes, hunting behaviours of carnivores have also seen some changes. They will now attack less frequently and may even fail a hunt depending on their individual combat stats and the defense level of the Sauropod. We've also adjusted the UI cohabitation feedback on the Therizinosaurus, Indominus rex, Velociraptor and Indoraptor to more clearly reflect their likes and dislikes, which should be a welcome change to better care for these dinosaurs.
Our console community will also be excited to hear that you can now import your PS4 player progress to the PS5 version of the game, meaning all your progress will be merged and nothing will be overwritten when being transferred over onto the PS5. The best way to do this would be to upload your PS4 save onto the PS Plus cloud and then download the saves from the cloud onto the PS5 and launch the game. Once in the main menu you should get a prompt to import the saves.
We hope you've enjoyed this highlight covering the new free update. More detailed patch notes on all the quality of life changes, as well as bug fixes will also be coming out on 30 March.
Keep your eyes peeled to our forums and social channels for any and all updates, and get more information on the new Feathered Species Pack here, and add to your Steam Wishlist here.

Dominion Malta Expansion and Update 5 Out Now!
Hello Park Managers!
We're pleased to announce that the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion is now available, alongside Update 5!
You can also purchase the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Bundle here.
The Dominion Malta Expansion will introduce you to four magnificent new species that we're sure your guests will love. You'll discover the fierce Atrociraptor, the powerful Lystrosaurus, the unique Oviraptor, and one of the smallest Tyrannosauroids to have ever existed, the Moros Intrepidus. These incredible species are bound to make an impressive addition to any park.
New Prehistoric Species
Atrociraptor Known as one of the 'designer dinosaurs', the Atrociraptor is arguably even more dangerous than its Velociraptor cousins. Of course, we'll also be providing you with Atrociraptor's iconic Jurassic World Dominion skins: Ghost, Red, Tiger, and Panthera!
Lystrosaurus Notable for its tusks and horned beak, we're sure your guests will be thrilled to see Lystrosaurus' powerful forelimbs and an unusual-shaped skull in your parks.
Oviraptor Oviraptor possesses an incredibly effective jaw for their size, and was named 'egg thief' because they were originally thought to steal other species' eggs! It's since been understood to be an omnivore, though. With a distinctive head crest and feathers, your guests are going to love Oviraptor's unique look!
Moros Intrepidus Moros Intrepidus was one of the smallest Tyrannosauroids to have ever existed, and is only a fraction of the size of its famous relative, the T. rex. This quick and nimble hunter, Moros Intrepidus is a formidable addition to any park.
All of the dinosaurs included in this pack come with 12 body colour and 7 skin patterns each, and we can't wait to see how you incorporate them into your park!
New Variants and Skin Based on the iconic dinosaurs from Jurassic World Dominion's stunning Malta setting, Allosaurus, Dimorphodon and Iguanodon will all have 2022 variants. Carnotaurus will also have a 2022 skin!
New Campaign In Jurassic Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion, you'll get to experience a brand new campaign, which will see you leading a new enterprise in Malta, set before the events of Jurassic World Dominion. You'll be working alongside Cabot Finch and key figures from the film, including Kayla Watts (voiced by DeWanda Wise), Soyona Santos (voiced by Dichen Lachman), Barry Sembène (voiced by Omar Sy), and Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott). You'll set up parks across three new Mediterranean locations, acquiring new species, eggs, and genome data via the Dinosaur Exchange in the place of Expeditions and Fossil Extractions.
Progress is persistent across all three locations, including your research – switch between them on the fly, or even move dinosaurs from one island to the other to optimise each of them using the Cargo Ship. Money and scientists will be independent per island, though, so you'll need to ensure each one is running as well as possible to complete this new campaign scenario - we're sure you'll be up to the task!
You will be able to experience these three locations during campaign mode, and will also be able to enjoy each of these new islands in Sandbox Mode as separate maps. Alongside these maps, you'll also be able to utilise all new Malta buildings and decorations.
Free Update 5 Releasing alongside the Dominion Malta Expansion is Update 5, which is a free update for everyone who owns Jurassic World Evolution 2. This includes some exciting additions as well as some quality of life updates and bug fixes, as well as the ability to import saves from PlayStation 4 consoles to PlayStation 5 consoles, and all you need to do to access this content is update your game.
Update 5 includes the 5 DFW Campaign maps as Challenge Levels, which will become accessible once you've earned earns 3, 5, 7, 9 and 2 stars respectively across all maps in Challenge Mode. You'll also be dealing with some brand new Challenge Conditions, which will vary across levels - but don't worry, we're sure you'll be up to the challenge!
You'll also notice some brand new behaviours for tiny dinosaurs in Update 5, including group attacks for Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus on guests & goats, as well as changes to navigation logic, so that Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus will navigate around water. There will also be some changes to collision logic for Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus, so that they no longer collide with guests or vehicles.
Update 5 will also include some changes to UI, including seeing the outlines of territories and dinosaurs of the same species when transporting a dinosaur, as well as an icon above which dinosaurs are liked, disliked, or neutral to that species. You'll also notice a new 'ailment and tranquilise' icon when controlling the Capture Team or adding a new task, as well as earlier fight notifications and a notification when Park Tours are disabled by a storm. See the patch notes below for more information on some of the additional UI updates coming your way in Update 5!
Of course there are also some quality of life changes to come in this latest free update! These include Tour vehicles honking at dinosaurs blocking their way, as well as ensuring sleeping dinosaurs are reactive when being honked at, and territory decaying more slowly near desirable feeders that are inside the territory.
Finally, we've also added support for NVIDIA Streamline, DLSS3 and NVIDIA Reflex, and the ability to import your PS4 saves to the PS5 version of the game.
The full list of changes and quality of life enhancements can be found in the changelog below.
We hope you enjoy the Dominion Malta Expansion and free Update, Park Managers! You can purchase the Dominion Malta Expansion here.

Species Field Guide - Lystrosaurus
Welcome back, Park Managers, to another new Species Field Guide!
In this series, we discuss some of the fascinating dinosaurs and reptiles you're able to care for in Jurassic World Evolution 2, including both familiar faces and some new ones, and we're really excited to be able to continue sharing and highlighting them!
Today, we'll be looking at another one of the upcoming prehistoric species joining us in the Dominion Malta Expansion, coming on December 8: Lystrosaurus!
Lystrosaurus is a herbivorous dicynodont therapsid from around 250 million years ago, thought to have lived in what is now Antarctica, India, China, Mongolia, European Russia, and South Africa.
Notable for its tusks and horned beak which it's believed were used to bite off bits of vegetation, its name, meaning 'shovel lizard' is certainly fitting! With powerful forelimbs and an unusually-shaped skull, Lystrosaurus is bound to be a hit with your park guests.
Being quite a social species, Lystrosaurus will need to have some company in their enclosures. As herbivores, they'll also need plenty of plants to eat from to prevent escapes and keep their welfare in check.
We're looking forward to seeing the enclosures you build for Lystrosaurus in-game, and we're sure they'll be a welcome addition to your parks.
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all things Jurassic World Evolution 2!
You can find out more about purchasing Jurassic World Evolution 2here. The Dominion Malta Expansion launches December 8, and you can add it to your wishlist here.
Dominion Malta Expansion Park Management Guide
Hey Park Managers!
The Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion is coming on December 8, bringing with it new prehistoric species, three new islands, some Malta-inspired decorations and buildings, and an all-new campaign. Today, we're sharing a Park Management Guide about the exciting new campaign you'll get to experience in the upcoming expansion.
Three Mediterranean Islands One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming expansion is the brand new campaign you'll get to experience. You'll be leading a new enterprise in Malta, but gameplay won't just take place there; Malta is just the beginning! You'll actually be working across three islands in the Mediterranean, San Albertus Peninsula, San Marie Bay, and Santaegidius Island, to set up a range of parks. You'll even be able to move dinosaurs between the islands with the Cargo Ship, ensuring you can create the best possible parks in each of the different locations.
Whilst your scientists and finances will stay localised to each island, your research will be universal across the three locations, meaning you can run a cohesive range of parks and even switch between them on the fly!
The Dominion Campaign: Malta is set before the events of Jurassic World Dominion. You'll be working alongside Cabot Finch and key figures from the film, including Kayla Watts (voiced by DeWanda Wise), Soyona Santos (voiced by Dichen Lachman), Barry Sembène (voiced by Omar Sy), and Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott), offering your expertise to this latest dinosaur hotspot, and caring for them as best you can - will you be up to the task?
The Dinosaur Exchange Acquiring dinosaurs will be an entirely new experience once you've landed in Malta - you'll be using the Dinosaur Exchange to get new species, eggs, and genome data. However, to do so, you'll need to gain Trust with one of two organisations; the Authorities, and the Underground, striking a balance between dinosaur welfare and well, profits and power. You might not always get what you buy, however...
The actions you take will determine your Trust Level with each of the Factions - you'll need to strengthen your Trust with both factions over time to be able to access all of the incredible species and genome data possible from the Dinosaur Exchange, so choose your contracts (and actions!) carefully, Park Managers!
How will you strike the balance between these two opposing Factions?
New Buildings Of course, a significant aspect of running a successful dinosaur park is keeping your guests happy, and with some all-new buildings and decorations available in both the campaign and sandbox mode, we're sure you'll be able to do just that.
The new Malta Arrival Building functions as both an Arrival Point for your guests and a Control Centre, and the new Acquisition Building functions as both a Science Centre & Expedition Centre - whilst you'll be acquiring dinosaurs from the Dinosaur Exchange in the Campaign, your scientists will continue to go on regular expeditions for fossils around the world during Sandbox Mode. Emergency Shelters, Hotels, Restrooms, Viewing Galleries and Large Power Stations will also come complete with Malta livery.
Naturally, your staff will be comprised of a Malta Capture Team, Malta Ranger Team, and Malta MVU Team, utilising the Malta-themed Response Facility and Paleo-Medical Facility respectively, and your scientists will head to the Staff Centre to rest. Once those prehistoric species have been properly cared for, they'll also be able to enjoy some Malta style, with a new Lagoon Hatchery, Lagoon Section and Viewing Gallery, and a new Aviary Dome, Viewing Gallery and Hatchery, all of which will also be available in Sandbox Mode.
In terms of decorations, you'll also notice a new Atrociraptor Cage, Storage Area, Comms Tower, and various new Wall Sections and pieces, amongst other things. You'll be able to see the full list in our patch notes, which we'll share on December 8.
We hope you've enjoyed this closer look at some of the things Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion has to offer! The Dominion Malta Expansion will be released on December 8; let us know what you think in the comments, and don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all things Jurassic World Evolution 2!

These new conditions include Tranquilliser Upgrades, which will require you to complete research before tranquilising dinosaurs with anything above a Level 1 or 2 Security Rating, Psychological Trauma, where some dinosaurs will require scientists with the trait of 'Psychologist' to cure them, and Staff Hiring Requirements, which will need you to meet specific requirements to hire 'Expert' staff members. California Photography is also a new type of challenge, a Photo Level, which is a new timed photography mission that will test your camera skills!
We're excited to see how you step up to the challenge of these new levels - we're sure you'll be more than up to the task, Park Managers!

UI Changes We're including a range of UI changes to Update 5, giving you even more control over how you manage your prehistoric species in-game.
Now, when you transport a dinosaur, you'll be able to see an icon above which species said dinosaur likes, dislikes, or feels neutral towards, as well as seeing the territories and dinosaurs of that same species in your park. Once in your enclosures, selecting the Alpha of any particular species will highlight the rest of that species, so you can see how many you have in the one enclosure.
You'll also notice that when controlling your Capture Teams or assigning tasks to them in your parks, there's a new 'ailment and tranquilise' icon, to streamline the process of caring for your dinosaurs with ailments.
Alongside these changes, Update 5 will also include earlier fight notifications, so that you'll get a little more notice when two dinosaurs aren't quite getting along, Lagoon and Aviary preview rings now highlighting the map boundary when placing them, and a new notification when those pesky storms disable your Tour Vehicles, so you have more notice to get them up and running again.
Tiny Dinosaur Behaviours There are some changes to how your tiny dinosaurs behave and interact coming in this latest update, which we're very excited to share with you.
First up, group attacks! Both Compsognathus and Moros Intrepidus (coming in the Dominion Malta Expansion) will team up to attack both goats from the feeder, and your guests, when they manage to escape.
Both Compsognathus and Moros Intrepidus, as well as Lystrosaurus and Oviraptor will also behave slightly differently around different obstacles. They're all getting adjustments to their collision behaviours in Update 5, so that they will now no longer collide with guests or vehicles. There will also be some adjustments to their navigation logic, so that these tiny dinosaurs will now navigate around water.
New Dinosaur Colourings You'll be able to enjoy some new colouring and pattern options for some of your favourite Variants as of Update 5!
Both Kentrosaurus 2015 and Ouranosaurus 2015 Variants (both from the Camp Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack), as well as the 2022 Variants of Dreadnoughtus and Giganotosaurus from the Dominion Biosyn Expansion and the new Iguanodon 2022 Variant from the upcoming Dominion Malta Expansion will each be getting 12 new body colours and 7 new pattern colour options. We've also incorporated a new Body Variant selector in the genome editor and Species Viewer for these species, so you can get an idea for how they'll look in your parks.
Quality of Life Changes Update 5 comes complete with a whole range of quality of life changes, which we're sure you'll really enjoy utilising in your parks.
Tour Vehicles will now honk at dinosaurs at dinosaurs which are in their way during tours, and any dinosaurs which have managed to fall asleep in front of your Tour Vehicles will now also be more reactive when they're honked at, so your tours can continue along!
We've also made some improvements to how Lagoon decoration functions in-game, including the camera staying below the water surface whilst being rotated, as well as the camera staying in the Lagoon when moving into the Lagoon walls - we can't wait to see how you decorate your Lagoons with these new angles!
We hope you've enjoyed this closer look at what you can expect from the new free update, coming December 8! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to see all the latest news about Jurassic World Evolution 2!
