Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr. Wu Coming 20 November!

Hello there,

This is Dr. Henry Wu speaking. I know you've been working hard across the islands to design and breed the most awe-inspiring and, sometimes, fear-inducing creatures. You've had success, I can tell, and I like your methods. So I'm here to ask for your assistance. I've got a very, very special project for you, should you choose to join me in my efforts. Think about it, but do know: the reward we will reap is... compelling, to say the least.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr. Wu is coming on 20 November, 2018! New missions, locations, and dinosaurs are waiting to be unlocked by you, and will offer a new and intriguing side to the story that you haven't experienced in the game before!

Dr. Wu is looking for park associates with a track record in running a successful organisation and experience with the design of hybrid dinosaurs. Earn his trust, and you will embark on a business venture together which include all the features of this new content.

If you accept his mission, a new area will unlock on Isla Muerta, where Dr. Wu is working in secret to research and breed never-before-seen hybrid creatures... If you do well, you can unlock a host of new research options and upgrades. There's a lot more to the story, but we won't spoil the fun for you here!

Aside from a whole new narrative for you to follow, there'll also be five new dinosaurs to provide additional challenges with their own behaviours and needs: the Troodon (which has a poison bite attack), the giant herbivore Olorotitan, and Dr. Wu's special hybrids: Ankylodocus, Stegoceratops, and Spinoraptor will all be making their appearance here. Be careful, some of them have sharp teeth...

There will be new genetic research items such as comfort genes, which will let you manipulate how tolerant dinosaurs are to their conditions beyond the expected traits, and, for the selected few Dr. Wu deems successful (or worthy...) enough, you can unlock the Indominus Rex camouflage gene; upon breeding an Indominus with this modification, it can camouflage when it exits its Creation Lab, hunts, panics, is idle, or is in a forest. Don't let this one out of your sight!

Finally, there will be some new building upgrades like additional Incubation Speed increase or Speed Increase for the transport team, plus an Advanced Storm Defense station to provide better protection against rough weather conditions.

Do you think you have what it takes?

Secrets of Dr. Wu will launch alongside our recently announced free update 1.5 on 20 November, 2018. You can get it from Steam, PlayStation or Xbox Store (depending on which platform you play the base game on) for £12.99 ($14.99, €14.99) - please note that it is completely optional for you to purchase, as update 1.5 (including Group Leaders, dynamic Day/Night Cycle, etc.) will launch for free for all players. Please note that if you do purchase Secrets of Dr. Wu, you'll need to own the base game in order to play.

We'll be doing a livestream on 20 November at 3PM UTC over on www.twitch.tv/frontierdevelopments, so we hope to see you there! In the meantime, you can check our November streaming schedule here and join us in the chat if you can!

Jurassic World Evolution Update 1.5 coming soon!

Hello park managers!

We're excited to share some amazing news with you: the next update for Jurassic World Evolution is on its way to the islands!

More importantly, we are combining the free update with some very special paid content, which we will reveal more of later this week! First, we wanted to tell you all about what's coming for free to all JWE players:

Additions to Dinosaur Behaviours

After looking at all of your feedback since launch, we've been working on improvements to dinosaurs and their behaviours. We're happy to announce that we're adding two highly requested additions: Group Leaders, which means dinosaurs will now look for an existing group leader and follow their behaviour, actively keeping the dinosaurs together as a group. Group Leaders can change during leadership contests, and the dinosaur with the highest prestige will lead the group. Groups try to stick together when fleeing from danger and when drinking, eating or sleeping. They can also be herded with the vehicles!

Another addition to the dinosaurs is their sleeping behaviour, which means dinosaurs will now take a nap when they are comfortable and idle. This also combines with groups, which will now often sleep at the same time.

Day/Night Cycle

We've added a day/night cycle to all game modes to enable a more dynamic environment. This feature will be instantly available from the gameplay setting menu in both Challenge and Sandbox modes, but for the Career islands it'll have to be unlocked as a setting by achieving 5 stars on each island. We can't wait to see how this challenges you or what kind of creative images you can make on each island!

Higher Capacity Feeders

We've added larger capacity feeder types which require less resupply for you! This means you can worry less about your dinosaurs' needs whilst attending other tasks. Please note this will not be applicable to the goat feeders.

New contracts

There's a bunch of new contracts for you to get stuck into! Can you sell your dinosaur with a certain gene modification, or get the infamy rating to go through the roof?

We're very excited about this update, which will also include a number of minor tweaks and fixes, and we will have more information about the additional paid content this week! In the meantime, you can check out our weekly livestreams on www.twitch.tv/frontierdevelopments!

More coming soon!

Free Update 1.4 Coming September 13!

    Hello park managers!

We're happy to announce that the next free update for Jurassic World Evolution is coming on 13 September, 2018! Hold onto your butts while we tell you what you can expect from the update, or watch back the livestream with Execute Producer Rich Newbold here.

    ALL NEW CHALLENGE MODE

A new feature greatly requested within the community is Challenge Mode (separate from Story Mode). You'll find yourself with very little starting money as you progress through Isla Nublar, with difficulty levels that you can adjust before you start (easy, medium, hard and Jurassic). We're also adding some new mechanics like Hammond Foundation fees, contract cancellation penalties, and personal best completion times. You can unlock new skins (and achievements/trophies!) when you complete Challenge Mode for the first time and also when you beat the ultimate challenge, Jurassic difficulty! Good luck!

    MORE SANDBOX OPTIONS

Isla Nublar is our dedicated sandbox island, and we're adding more options so you can play the way you want to; you can toggle these settings in the Options Menu at any time. A few exciting additions are the lifespan toggle (dinosaurs no longer die of old age), cash level toggle (decide how much cash is available to you), various difficulty settings (dinosaur variety, rating, guest count, and economics), feeder resupply toggle (no more pesky ranger jobs!), and power toggle (no power stations or power requirements needed, as well as no power outages).

    LIGHTING OPTIONS FOR CAREER ISLANDS

Once you have achieved 5 stars on each island in Career Mode, you'll unlock different lighting options: default, dawn, dusk, and night. You can now revisit your islands and choose which setting you want to play in, which should give you some nice new challenges and more opportunities for gorgeous photographs.

    NEW CONTRACT TYPES

We're adding some more variety of contracts for all Divisions, which will have you working to improve guest coverage, increase dinosaur visibility and rating, and achieve higher levels of profit for your island. Make sure you're up to the task before accepting them!

    NEW VIEWING CAMERAS

We're adding new camera features to the viewing gallery and viewing platform so you can watch your enclosures from your guests' perspectives, as well as a first-person camera to the monorail train - positioned at a height above the train that will go over stations.

    KOREAN AND ITALIAN LANGUAGE SUPPORT

We're happy to be bringing both Korean and Italian Voice Overs and subtitles to the game, so players from those regions can enjoy the game with their native language. Welcome to the community!

    SIZE MATTERS

We've listened to your feedback regarding some of the carnivores' sizes in the game, and are making the following changes to bring them more in line with the Jurassic franchise:
<*>Scale down the Ceratosaurus from 9.6m (current) to 9m
<*>Scale down the Tyrannosaurus Rex from 14m (current) to 13.5m
<*>Scale up the Spinosaurus from 13.7m (current) to 15m (making her taller but less bulky than the T-Rex)
<*>Scale up the Giganotosaurus from 12m (current) to 13.5m
ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Other than what's above, we're also adding several new things based on your feedback such as a camera zoom toggle, the option to cancel a research project or incubation, the option to revert all the genes to default, new dinosaur bio information in the Genome Library (health and comfort requirements), shortcuts to research items from the Upgrade and Build menus, and more general fixes and tweaks to the game. We will post the full list of fixes on September 13 with the 1.4 Release Notes for you to go through at your leisure.

We thank you for your continued support since the game's launch on June 12, and for your diligent bug reporting on the forums. We're very excited about this update and cannot wait to see what you'll make of it!

    Important News about Dinosaur Sizing

As posted from our official forums...

    Hi everyone,

We hope you're all having a wonderful day.

We'd like to start with saying that we are incredibly grateful for having such a passionate and enthusiastic community. It's been a pleasure to read everyone's Jurassic journey so far, with people achieving platinum trophies or sharing their favorite dinosaur screenshots with us.

We've also received feedback regarding certain elements of the game, one notable example being the sizing of specific species of dinosaurs. Initially we stated that addressing these issues wouldn't be possible due to technical difficulties, including potential clipping/gameplay issues within the environment that the dinosaur interacts with, potential save game issues, and the adjustment of hundreds of connected/associated animations per species. However, the community have spoken and our amazing dev team have been hard at work to investigate these issues and look for solutions. We're pleased to be able to confirm that in the coming update, the team will be making some much-requested adjustments to the dinosaur sizes, while at the same time keeping true to the Jurassic dinosaurs which has always been our aim.

The changes we are making are as follows:

Scale down the Ceratosaurus from 9.6m (current) to 9m
Scale down the Tyrannosaurus Rex from 14m (current) to 13.5m
Scale up the Spinosaurus from 13.7m (current) to 15m (making her taller but less bulky than the T-Rex)
Scale up the Giganotosaurus from 12m (current) to 13.5m

We apologise for the time it's taken to confirm these details. However, we feel it is vitally important that we triple check that any new additions are achievable before announcing them to the world. We hope that these changes better address the concerns regarding dinosaur size and look forward to seeing the your reaction once the free update goes live.

We've received a lot of kind words from you with the faith that Frontier will continue to support Jurassic World Evolution with new and exciting content. It's heart-warming to see comments with that level of trust in the development team, and it's absolutely what we will be doing. The team are hard at work planning future content for you to enjoy and we'll be revealing all of the details of the first update in a special livestream with the developers, of which we'll be sharing the time and date this week!

Thank you again for your patience, feedback, and understanding as we continue to work hard on Jurassic World Evolution; we're excited about what the future holds and definitely have lots more in store for you!

Whilst we would love to include every piece of content that the community want to see in the game, we have to look at a number of factors before deciding what exactly makes its way into each update. Please do continue to give us your feedback and suggestions, and we’ll aim to address the most common requests through our community responses where possible.
