Empty Installation Folder Issue * Solved! *

Thanks everybody for your patience, and a huge shout out to Malik who spent several hours of his free time helping me to sort this out this morning!

I somehow mixed something up when setting up JAC's soundtrack, which since it's not out yet and none of you own, wasn't allowing you to have the core game.

So try it again and you should all be golden!

Update #5

Because, you know, the word 'Patch' seems so negative doesn't it?
So 'Update' it is!

A few things you will obviously notice this morning-

UPDATE NOTES
=============

*The game now runs in a fixed window instead of fullscreen. The reason being is the full screen object I had been using was causing some issues with the Steam Overlay. And just this morning I got another report on how it's also screwing up the Steam Big Picture display. So that's enough reason to get rid of it for me.

*The next big thing is the "Q" Key (used to immediately quit the game at any time) has been replaced by the "ESC" key. The in-game menu also reflects this change for reminder's sake. And because the game's now windowed, you can also 'X' out of the thing in the header of course.

*Last thing- There was a bug where if you got hit by the sleeping magic while your prayer book was open it's get all BUSTED and NOT TOO GOOD. This has been fixed across all areas of the game.

Thanks for bringing these issues to my attention, good people of the JAC community!

Super Boss / Weapon Contest Winner Announced!!!

Patch #4

I'm not too pig-headed to admit when I make a design flaw. Having 2 tough missions back to back with one of the hardest bosses in the game right afterwards was, in retrospect, a no-no. I didn't like when NES Ninja Gaiden tossed me all the way back to stage 6-1 and JAC doesn't have to be that way now.

And in fact, it's not anymore! I woke up this morning and immediately went to the comptuer and made some very necessary changes. And lo and behold, they worked right away (thank GOD).

It's a sign of a crappy dev who doesn't take criticism into account, and make changes where possible while still maintaining the integrity of his game.

So, without further ado:

PATCH NOTES
============

*Created a new area in between the 2 final stages of the game, complete with the choice to save your game there. If you do save and get killed, reloading your file will bring you right back to that point. Thanks to Doyledeth and his honest review for getting me to make this, as the game's honestly much better off now.

*Fixed some code for the Church / bless discounts triggering earlier than they should. Sorry, but it wasn't supposed to be cheap that early!

*Increased the raw material requirements of the Katana at P.P. Smith's. This thing just destroys everything, and for a silver class weapon it had to be nerfed a bit materials-wise. The damage and etc remain the same otherwise.

*Sandstorms can now happen during the regular playthrough during the 'Isle of Denial' mission.

*Fixed a bug where if you tried jumping up a ladder that went all the way up to the ceiling (or wall) you could get stuck. I went through every instance of ladders like this (there were maybe 6 or 7 in the whole game) and now it's been taken care of.

Well if nothing else I get to have more practice using Steam's patch doohickey

If you don't have your auto updater for JAC on, you might have to delete the local content for JAC first and re-install (right click on "just a cleric" from your list, easy as pie!)

* Fixed more issues that I think I caused while trying to fix the web ladders!
* Added a moon to the cult mission & town. Why? Because moons are cool.

* And for the aggravation of having to deal with not one but TWO patches on the same day? I've taken a gold class item and put it into the silver class item pool. This takes longer to do than it sounds, but the good thing is that now you guys will have a shot at getting this on your regular game playthroughs ːsteamhappyː

First of all, I'm very glad so many of you out there are giving my game a shot!

* Fixed an issue where you could possibly get stuck on the spider web ladders.
* Spider King boss damage slightly reduced (8 -> 7)
* Added a few more health potions to the Spidertopia mission
* Added another health potion to SPF3000 mission part 2

As far as patches go, that's not too bad I'd say!



Super Boss / Weapon Contest!

Hello!

I'm running a contest where the first person who can successfully defeat JAC's Super Demon Boss and post a screenshot of it to the group hub will win this cool prize:

Design your own weapon, which will be added for us all to enjoy!

There are a few guidelines to design weapons for this game you should know about. The code reads the beginning of each weapon's name (since upgraded gear is followed by a +1 and etc, only the beginning is necessary to choose the cleric's attack animation). So since there's already a weapon named "Sword" you couldn't name it "Sword of Poop", you'd have to call it the "Poop Sword". Yes, I would not object to this being in the game haha.

For properties, weapons will need anywhere from 1-2 stats from which to draw attack power from, in percentage form. An example would be "Attack Influence: STR 50%". Any weapon can only have a maximum of 3 or 4 other properties, depending on the ones you choose for yours. A list of the available properties can already be found on JAC's "Equipment Guide" here:
