Hello all! I thought I'd pop by to give a little update on what's being worked on in the world of Kainga: Seeds of Civilization!
New Content
First things first, there are a few houses in the game that are currently not unlockable but a teaser to what's coming up. I should have hidden them but I didn't :) sorry!
I'm working on quite a bit for update 1.2 which of course includes new technologies, beasts and map modifiers. The main thing I'm working on is what I'm calling "Points of Interest" which are locations that can spawn on any map similar to the Belowlands Karma Shop or the Necromancer's tower. These points of interest are things like NPC's to interact with, Thinker-less camps and new world mysteries and puzzles to be solved!
I have a bunch of ideas for potential points of interest but I'm always open to hearing yours!
Technical Changes
That's the fun stuff, but most of my time has been spent on fixes, keybinds reformatting and restructuring code to allow for things like proper UI and text scale to match standards of the Steam Deck and consoles. That's right! Kainga is getting controller support!
I had a lot of fun coming up with the control scheme and I think I've come up with some clever ideas!

In addition to that, I'm working on some deeper features that have been highly requested like a sandbox mode, and I'm trying to come up with a good way for players to share the maps they generate!

Update 1.1.18 - You can now pet the snails!
Happy Lunar New Years!
I've made some minor changes but working on something much bigger, including new houses and new interactable landmarks, but there was a bug with the bridge pathing so I wanted to push this fix out sooner rather than later.
But here's a fun little thing in the meantime, you can now pet all wild animals!

Additions: - You can now pet wild creatures! - Town borders now don’t overlap each other visually - Added some Lunar New Year flair - Added some upcoming items in the encyclopedia - Added a button in the settings to turn off seasonal decorations

Fixes: - Fixed some audio issues with Walkers - Fixed an issue where AI created beast attachments wouldn’t have a name when converted - Improved the pathability of fishing towers - Hopefully fixed the bridge collision issues introduced in the last update - Fixed demands and trade table locations on water - Fixed an issue with the selection box while not playing fullscreen

Update 1.1.14 - Adjustments and Fixes

Changes: - Cages will now collapse automatically when an AI is defeated - AI will no longer place new houses in your territory - You can now more easily convert Thinkerless braves - AI will be more accepting of gifts, even as enemies - Gifts and Baskets can now cross bridges - Changed the way a few festivals affect allies - Updated the Chinese, French, Spanish and German translations - Raised the seafloor in the Flatlands - Grenadiers will no longer hit their own balloons - Smoothed the loading process significantly at the cost of 0.5 seconds
Fixes: - Fixed an issue where people would get stuck on slopes - Fixed the Firebird Perch - Fixed the missing name of the Blastpowder Factory - Blocked the chef’s wok from appearing in the tutorial - Fixed a bug where ash would be labeled as mud - You can no longer get water from destroyed shadufs - Fixed some invisible boxes that were casting shadows in the skyloft - Synergies display properly with Thinker provided techs now - Beast Farmstalks and the Mastadon Milker properly count as food tech for the starting checklist - Kiva houses can no longer be built on stilts - Fixed a bug where units wouldn’t finish their task of entering a transport

Kainga: Anniversary Edition & new DLC out now!
Hello Kaingans! I'm thrilled to unveil the latest addition to your Kainga experience: a DLC support pack! As I alluded to in the last update, I've been working hard drawing alternative versions of all 8 Thinkers in brand-new, stylish outfits!
The main purpose of this DLC is to support development of Kainga going forward so I can continue to expand this weird and exciting world! Here's a video to share what to expect:
Thinker Outfits Support Pack
Love Kainga and want to see more? This official Kainga support pack is a cosmetics-only DLC that allows you to switch the outfits of all 8 Thinkers to newly designed alternatives for that extra bit of flair!
Explore parallel designs to the current Thinker outfits, each uniquely envisioned to add a touch of novelty. These designs follow the "B-Side" alternative versions of the Thinkers, released in update 1.1 . While the DLC isn't necessary to play these alternative versions, it does introduce some cosmetic flair to your gameplay!
Unlock the "B-Side" of each Thinker for a new starting loadout, three exciting festivals, and a bonus passive technology. Obtain these in the base game by either unlocking all basic technologies, unlocking all Thinkers, or mastering one Thinker. Once achieved, embark on a quest to access the B-Sides of Thinkers – a cool twist to your Kainga experience!
So, if you're yearning to add a touch of sophistication to your Thinkers, this cosmetic DLC awaits!

Additions: - Added the new Thinker Outfits DLC! - Added lights to 3 landmark festival types including the lanterns - The telescope now moves in the Skyloft - The quest corner now has a pillow in the Skyloft
Changes and Fixes: - Fixed some synergy links for halbadiers - Added a synergy between crop rows and the the blastpowder refinery - Fixed the Alabastron’s color being default - The Alabastron will no longer duplicate when carried - You should no longer instant-lose on high-water Terraces - Tiwa houses’ invisible platform won’t break from fire - Towns will not see gift carriers as intruders - Snails will no longer melt it’s passengers when spitting - Brought back the “Next” button in the Thinker selection menu by popular demand - Fixes some fonts and tooltips on the Thinker selection menu

Making some changes based on community feedback and setting up some things for a future update!
Change log: - Added some Kainga Birthday surprises! - You now get access to the B-Side Thinker’s quest from unlocking all Thinkers as well as unlocking all technologies OR mastering a single Thinker - Fixed some animations that were running backwards - Removed the useless “next” button on the Thinker select menu - Fixed the holes in the floor that would appear in a specific pattern on the Edges - Screen no longer shakes when nomads span - Campfires on Nomad walkers can now be destroyed - Beastmasters will no longer float when their walker has been destroyed - Added the current map and modifier to the menu in the encyclopedia - Charnushka’s B-side no longer spawns a cloud in the skyloft - You now lose the game when your caged Thinker escapes
