Dev Log #13: Balancing & More!
NEW / CHANGES / FIXES * Added a queued cast system to make sure spells can not be casted too quickly. * Added prevention for abusing the skill Counterattack. * Will no longer display friendly npc's killed on the monster data list in the game. * Tired of your hairstyle? You can now randomize a new hair style and color from the ingame payment menu. Costs 10gems to do a randomize and your player updates right away. * Now displaying the Colosseum identity (1,2,3,4) in the colosseum monster name so that it's easier to understand the monsters in the in game data list. * Added a new page to the ingame data list that shows formulas from the game. It will be built out more over time. * Fixed the missing localization text on the very first map you start the game on.
WARRIOR (Paladin) * Taunt now makes it so monsters with multitarget only attacks the player that casted Taunt. Other players within the range of the monster will not be attacked until the taunt period elapses. * Taunt duration has been increased from 6sec to 10sec.
WISDOM MAGE (Paladin) * Protection spells now get better the more wisdom you have. * Boost Stamina spells now get better the more wisdom you have. * Changed bless spells to give WIS/5 instead of WIS/8 in boosted HP and lowered their base HP by 5-10HP. * Damage given by statpoints changed from 6 to 9 wisdom to get 1 dmg. * Lowered mana requirement by 1 for Blizzard. * Lowered wisdom spells by 1 damage.
ARCHER * Damage given by statpoints changed from 6 to 7 agility to get 1 dmg.
INTELLIGENCE MAGE * Lowered mana requirement by 1 for Armageddon. * Also benefits from spells that gets better with wisdom. (but not as much since they have much less in wisdom).
BALANCING * The NPC sight area has been changed from a square to a 45degree tilted square. * Minimum damage has been lowered for monsters and bosses. Highest minimum damage is now set to 10. * Less bosses now utilizes the teleportation skill and also those that do use it teleport less frequently. * Changed so there is no random (0 to 1) dmg added on the minimum damage and so that the minimum dmg does not increase from 0 to 1, 0 to 2 and 0 to 3 depending on your level.
Dev Log #12: Fixes and Group content Improvements!
New Content: * Castle of no return has been extended. * New items (rings, amulets, quivers..). * New monsters added. * More quest points has been added. * First town has been partly remade. All shops are now located on one map so that it becomes easier for new players. New NPCs has been added to the town with good to know information.
Fixes: * Fixed an issue on Colosseums/Arena that could cause HC characters to die. * Fixed issue where you could drop items in the town/items lost. * Fixed poison strike skill name. * Fixed trueshot skill not working on the first "monster map slot assigned" monster on the map. * Fixed lag issue where you could freeze. * Fixed entering spectator area for Colosseum. * Fixed gathering text so it now shows +2 instead of +1 for Sunday events. Since the event boosts +2 Gathering. * Fixed some small NPC related errors. * Fixed some other small server errors. * Fixed some mapping issues.
Balancing: * You now get 1 token per player in the colosseums battle ground when a token is dropped by a monster/boss. So if you are 3 players, then 3 tokens will drop instead of previously 1 when you are lucky and get it. * Increased the chance of getting the super rare colosseum only items (the cape, ring and amulet). * Added a chance for colosseum monsters to drop a small amount of gold upon death.
Stability/Performance/Security: * Improved map transitions. * Improved character login. if you reached the char selection screen too quickly, you would have to wait before it would allow you to login. The total time was 7sec from game startup that was required by minimum before. * Some visuals has been slightly speeded up so the game feels more action oriented.
Other: * A guild recruiter can no longer recruit a Leader. * Now supports up to 150 different monsters, previously 125. * Updated the pvp info in the tutorial.
Dev Log #11: Colosseum, group content and much more!
This update focuses on new fun content. Experience the Colosseum by yourself or in a group. And see how far you can reach. Earn tokens and unique items in this competitive zone.
New Content: * Added 4 new Colosseums, you can enter solo or in a Group! 1 for each island. The colosseums can drop tokens and a very rare ring, amulet and cape. * You now get 1 token for completing a daily quests. * Added many new maps. * Added new items: ring, amulet, capes etc... * Lots of new item upgrade types added. * You can now upgrade items with skills using Tokens. This is done at the same place as normal item upgrades. * New crafts added. * A new requirement type for crafting added: Tokens. * Added a new stronger pet. * All pets can now heal you 10% of the time when attacking. The heal amount is based on pet level and increases the more rare the pet is. * Added 2 new ongoing events every Saturday and Sunday. Every Saturday there is a +10% gold boost on all servers and on Sundays everybody has +2 Gatherer skill to get more resources. * Added many new capes with new graphics. * Many new chest types has been implemented. * Extended the castle of no return. * A brand new starting Tutorial area added. * Added a new document to the tutorial area + some things that old players also want to get. You can travel to the tutorial area from the basement of the starting temple. * Added at least 7 more quester points, meaning the top score for the "Top Questers" can reach higher by finding them. Fixes: * Fixed Plate armor graphics. * Fixed traps so they do not drop loot on Arena maps. * Fix for very rare item upgrade issue. * Fixed issue where monsters could not attack you on certain tiles. * Fixed so trueshot does not do damage to friendly npcs. * Some fixes/improvements for npc checks/attacks. * Maybe fixed very rare item disappear on death occurrence. * Fixed additional Sneak skills from items now applying correctly. (I had previously turned that off to debug potential lag and forgot to enable it again.) * Fixed some hidden client errors. * Fixed an issue where a certain length of your character name could cause you not to be able to write in global chat.
Balancing: * Being in a party and killing monsters now gives gold to all the party members that are on the same map. Lets say 2 players are on the same map in a party. Killing a monster that gives 100 gold will give each player app. 75gold each. * Changed EXP loss on PVE death to 5% from 10%. * Pets now get higher damage if they get above level 150. * Higher chance for crafted items to be +0. * The previous craftable mining axe has now been changed and moved to be a token craft. * The seraph island has been slightly boosted. * The monsters at the seraph island has a very small chance to drop Tokens. * Dying in PVE now has lower chance to drop equipped and inventory items. * Increased allowed items on map from 50 to 60.
Stability/Performance/Security: * Increased item upgrade security. * Implemented lag death prevention. Meaning that upon the event of the server detecting bad connections and it triggers a maintenance reboot. It will immediately set all players to be immortal so you can not die during that time (this is announced globally in the game when it happens). Also added 60sec temporary immortal during another server occurrence that could happen (this is not announced in the game). * Increased info for debugging server lag. * Client improvements not to process stuff when not needed. * Fixed a networking issue that's been evading me for a long time. If it has performance improvement is currently unknown. * Improved SQL retries. * Improved server packet security and stability. * Improved movement for very laggy players. * Improved server logs. * Improved client logs. There is a Log folder in the game directory, if you have strange occurrences please do not hesitate to email a zipped version of that folder to backtothepastlore@gmail.com
Other: * Swapped the chat commands for global and map chat. So just typing in the chat will now make a global message. * Sad to announce that I removed the SEA server. It was causing too much problems so if I invest in a SEA server again I will need to pay more. But I hope the SEA players can still play on any of the other 3 servers without too much ping. If you are heavily invested into the game and only play on SEA, you can send me an email on backtothepastlore@gmail.com for an appeal. * Improved spectator areas so that you can not be attacked by NPCs. * Items upgraded with skills will now show that clearly in the item description. * Changed the graphics of the dino and drago pets and changed the pet names. * Changed some pet spell attack animations. * When you have above the skill amount on the skillpage you will see a nice blue color on the text. * Did some improvements to NPC movement.
