        • Matriarch Tesla Blast.

  • Perks

    • Berserker

      • Level 25 ZED TIME - Berserker Rage

        • Fear does not cause Zeds to flee anymore. It now immobilizes them.

Designer Note :
For the Skip Trader Vote improvements, we implemented the system using elements from the player kick system to make the process of skipping the trader easier and clearer for players.

As for the healing UI improvements, we want to add more clarity on the amount of health being healed on any player. This will help players gauge and improve their healing.

The Seeker Six was underperforming compared to the other Demolitionist Tier 4 weapons. We made some tweaks in order to make it more attractive to use while differentiating it more from the RPG-7 and the Husk Cannon. We increased the explosion radius and damage to improve its ability to handle groups of weaker Zeds. Currently, the Fragmentation Rounds Perk skill will increase the explosion radius enough to cause self-damage in close quarters, introducing a small risk factor. Finally, the weight was reduced to allow more weapon loadout combinations.

The Mac 10 received some changes in order to improve its viability for the Firebug and SWAT Perks. The burn rate has been reduced to reduce the likelihood of causing Zeds to fire panic too fast, and the damage of the damage over time and bullet stumble rate have both been increased to allow the weapon to deal with medium to larger Zeds more effectively. Also, the base damage has been increased and the Dosh price has been reduced to allow the weapon to become more viable in earlier waves.

The Bone Crusher was updated to improve the defensive capabilities against E.D.A.R.s and the Matriarch.

The Berserker ZED TIME - Berserker Rage now immobilizes the feared Zeds instead of making them run away. This should help improve its gameplay with all Perks, allowing players to have an easier time landing their shots.

The Survivalist ZED TIME - Lockdown Perk skill has been reworked to allow any weapon used by the Survivalist to apply stun to any Zed. We want this skill to effectively ‘lockdown’ Zeds, and the previous iteration did not suffice in doing that properly.

The Survivalist Melee Expert Perk skill was underperforming so we increased the damage boost a little more in order to improve the melee viability of the skill.

The Field Medic Acidic Rounds Perk skill also got a boost to its damage to become a better tool for Field Medics with a more offensive gameplay style.

As always, we’d like to hear the community's feedback on these changes. You can do so by visiting and posting in the ‘general’ section on the official Tripwire Interactive forums at: https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forum/killing-floor-2

Please continue to report any QOL changes you believe should be added to the game by submitting your feedback in the ‘general’ section on our official forums at: https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forum/killing-floor-2

Balance

  • Zeds

    • Bloat

      • HRG Teslauncher bullet damage vulnerability decreased from 0.8x to 0.58x.

    • Quarter Pound

      • HRG Teslauncher bullet damage vulnerability decreased from 1.0x to 0.5x.

    • Fleshpound

      • HRG Teslauncher bullet damage vulnerability decreased from 1.0x to 0.5x.

    • Scrake

      • HRG Teslauncher bullet damage vulnerability decreased from 1.1x to 0.6x.

  • Weapons

    • HRG Teslauncher

      • Grenade spare ammo capacity reduced from 10 to 8.
      • First upgrade damage modifier reduced from 20% to 12.5%.

    • Blunderbuss

      • Cannonball shrapnel pellet damage increased from 45 to 50 per pellet. This effectively increases its damage by 11%.
      • Cannonball shrapnel spread reduced by 30%.
      • Cannonball shrapnel bounce increased from 1 to 2.
      • Cannonball fire rate set to the same rate as the cannonball shrapnel. This effectively increases its fire rate by 8.7%.
      • Cannonball self-inflicted damage reduced by 50%.

    • Glock 18c

      • Weapon recoil increased by 18% for dual and 35% for single.
      • Bullet damage reduced from 39 to 37. This effectively decreases its damage by 5%.
      • First upgrade damage modifier reduced from 20% to 12.5% for single and dual.

    • Seeker Six

      • Reverted the reduction on the distance before round duds.

Designer Note :
The HRG Teslauncher dealt with certain Zeds too effectively due to the microwave damage type of the bullets, so we adjusted the resistance of the Bloat, Quarter Pound, Fleshpound, and Scrake to the HRG Teslauncher bullets. Also, the weapon possessed a sizable amount of grenade rounds that offered a lot of utility, so we reduced the grenade spare ammo capacity to address this. Finally, the damage boost of the first and only upgrade was very high, so it was reduced.
The Blunderbuss received a few adjustments to improve its cannonball shrapnel performance. The damage has been increased and the cannonball shrapnel spread has been reduced to improve its gameplay, especially for the Support Perk. We also added an additional bounce to the cannonball shrapnel to increase the likelihood of stray rounds striking Zeds. Alongside these changes, the cannonball self-inflicted explosion damage has been reduced because the previous value created too much risk firing in close quarters for Support players. Lastly, we set the fire rates of the two fire modes to be the same value, so this effectively increases the fire rate of the primary fire. This was primarily done to sync the fire animations and to improve the likelihood of setting off a nuke explosion with the ZED TIME - Destroyer of Worlds Perk skill when rapid firing the weapon.
The Glock 18c performed very well and provided Gunslingers a powerful weapon, so we made adjustments to alleviate the power concerns from the community feedback. The damage has been decreased and the recoil increased. Finally, the damage boost of the first and only upgrade was very high so it was reduced. The goal of these adjustments is to continue providing fun, unique gameplay experiences without overshadowing other Gunslinger weapons of similar Trader price.
The Seeker Six dealt a lot of self-damage to players due to the reduced distance before it explodes. We reverted this change to alleviate that concern. Currently, the Fragmentation Rounds Perk skill will increase the explosion radius enough to cause self-damage in close quarters.

We reduced the arming distance of the projectile to allow explosions to occur closer to the player to boost its close quarters effectiveness, but this will also add a risk factor by increasing the likelihood of taking self-inflicted damage from the explosions.

Bug Fixes

Top Community Issues:

  • Fixed an issue where the Survivalist Perk’s secondary XP objective was not granting XP.
  • Fixed an issue where weapons would not benefit from Zed time until after firing the second shot which prevented slower reloading weapons (ex. Mosin Nagant) from being useful during Zed time.
  • Fixed an issue with all grenades fired from underslung launchers which would sometimes cause erratic behavior in poor connection environments.

Zeds:

  • Fixed an issue where the Matriarch’s Tesla Blast would remain queued up for use during the destruction of her arm cannon.
  • Fixed an issue where the Commando’s callout ability was not showing the Matriarch’s red outline to teammates.

Maps:

  • Fixed an issue in Biolapse where a section of the wall was not rendering material on low and medium graphics settings.
  • Fixed an issue in Sanitarium where users were able to get to an unintended location with the Doomstick.

Weapons:

  • Fixed an issue where the Ion Thruster's special attack was inheriting the damage multiplier corresponding to its last swing.
  • Fixed an issue with the HRG Incendiary Rifle where if you throw it down and pick it back up the grenade ammo refilled.
  • Fixed an issue with the Railgun where its lock-on would remain even after changing fire modes.
  • Fixed an issue with the Hemoclobber not showing reload animations outside of first person view.
  • Fixed an issue with the Pulverizer and the Eviscerator glowing green when dropped while out of ammo.
  • Fixed an issue with the Compound Bow where the Cryo Arrow FX would shift away from the arrow as the sight was moved.
  • Fixed an issue with the Compound Bow where the Cryo Arrow FX would have a large amount of motion blur applied when shifting aim.

Cosmetics:

  • Addressed an issue where users were receiving Dosh Vault Crates after any and all account activity.
  • Fixed multiple issues with skins where blood was not applying to the skin:

    • Dragon & Koi Pulverizer
    • Dragon & Koi Eviscerator
    • Vault Vosh Precious Hemoclobber

    • Dragon Koi M16 203 - Underslung Barrel

User Interface

  • Fixed an issue in the Trader menu where the weapon damage bar would reflect the previously selected weapon and not the current selection.

As always, thank you for your continued support!

Merc Report - More Explosions, More Bullets

Hello Mercs,

Last week we gave you intel on an old outpost that may have information on the Patriarch’s whereabouts. We won’t be sending you empty-handed. Horzine research and design has a few new additions for you to consider adding to your arsenal.

For the Demolitionists out there that are always asking “What else can we blow up, and how?”, we have the new HRG Kaboomstick. Fans of the HX25 Pistol will appreciate the increased pellets, double the magazine size. It has an alt-fire for even more boom when firing both barrels at once. Perfect for clearing away those pesky Zeds that have come in a little too close for your liking... and arming distance!

For the Berzerkers, a new ranged weapon. The HRG Teslauncher fires microwave rounds and has an alt-fire guaranteed to give mercs a shockingly good time. This assault rifle can deliver EMP grenades wherever needed most, disrupting Zeds and allowing you time to execute your plans to charge forwards to finish the job a little more personally, or backward at your own discretion!

For the Gunslinger who either can’t find a weak point or stopped caring when that Fleshpound broke the line, the team at Horzine has heard you and has developed the new Glock 18c with an integrated silencer attachment design for you!! Usable as a single Glock with semi-automatic and full-automatic fire modes. Pick up a second one to commit to full auto only, showing you really know how to toss lead downrange and clear a path for that tactical backward push with the Demolitionist. Negotiations over, the sentence is death.

And finally, we have the Blunderbuss built for Demolitionists and Support specialists. A closer range firearm that utilizes a flintlock single action revolving drum magazine for 3 cannonballs of Jolly Roger Joy and cannonball shrapnel right where it will hurt the most, and that is anywhere you want it to be! The cannonballs do not explode until they make contact with a surface or a Zed, allowing some hallway clearing opportunities, without ever having to look down that hallway! To really shiver some zed’s timbers, hold down the trigger to save the explosion for the perfect moment, triggering the explosion once let off.

As a reminder: HRG weapons are free for all users, while the Glock 18c and Blunderbuss are purchasable after the Summer Update Final Launch as Weapon Bundles packed with weapon skins for cosmetic customization. The Glock 18c is a different weapon from the previously released G18 and Riot Shield combination featuring a new model, textures, animations, VFX, SFX, and gameplay differences.

We hope to see you soon in the Steam beta! Keep eyes on this space for the release and a more detailed changelog.

Merc Report - Improving Field Conditions

Mercs,

As part of our efforts to continuously improve your in-field experience, the techs have lined up some enhancements across your perk abilities, arsenal as well as UI!

Starting with the Seeker Six and Mac10, two weapons that were not getting much field usage. The Seeker Six projectiles are getting a larger explosive radius as well as a slight damage increase combined with a reduced arming distance. This will allow for better trash clearing and nearer explosions, with some risk. The weight is also being reduced to see if this helps it better fit into loadouts.

The Mac 10 is getting a price reduction, sliding it more into a tier between 2 and 3 to better match its current performance against other perk weaponry. This should make it a good choice for Firebugs and Swats looking to step up their firepower a little sooner. As part of this change, we will likely be doing some minor upgrades to its damage and incapacitation power as well.

The following Perk skills are also being improved:

  • Field Medic - Acidic Rounds will have improved damage
  • Survivalist - Melee Expert will have improved damage
  • Berserker - Berserker Rage is being changed so Zeds will no longer flee, but stay rooted in their initial position

Finally, we have two UI changes to round things off. The Skip Trader vote has been added to the pop-up UI system, so after an initial merc has triggered it, other players will be asked if they want to proceed. This should make it easier for players to use and understand what's happening.

The last change also will help the team coordinate, by showing the Healing Over Time currently being done to a player in the in the world health bar. Medics will be able to see which players are on their way to being “topped off” and can better focus their attention elsewhere, such as their friend who somehow managed to get across the road and almost around a corner and is now somehow “needing a medic”.

Heal Over Time WebM

Several new arsenal additions are on the way to help you survive in the jungle, and other ZED infested areas, and we’ll be sharing more over the coming days!

Merc Report: It’s A Jungle Out There

Mercenaries,

Apologies for any confusion, but our previous messaging headers have been co-opted by corporate for some other campaign! If you have nice things, the wonderful team at the main Horzine office is always there to take them (and the credit)... But we digress.

We have intel about your next field locale, which looks to be one of our older black ops complexes. Thought “lost” both in the literal and figurative terms, we’ve found some trace evidence that this may have been done on purpose by the Good Dr, the Patriarch. As they say, science finds a way.

You know what that means, go in, hit the ground running, and find out anything there is to know and report back. This facility features an exterior loading zone and helipad, with an extensive, multi-level interior. If you are a clever merc, you may just be able to get the generators back on. Survival of any intel and assets is a priority and do assume the worst; expect hostiles. It's a jungle out there.

Desolation is the next community created map by Delta joining the official rotation, supporting standard survival, endless, and VS modes. We’ll be sharing several QoL and balance improvements we have planned in the coming days so stay tuned!
