Seasonal content: The Chained God
The Chained God is a seasonal content, a short, stand-alone campaign where you control a fearless Fomorian Champion. This campaign is a set of skirmish missions without management options, a purely tactical experience with a story that ties into the main story of Knight's Tale
The four difficulty levels available in the regular campaign are available in the Season as well
These Seasonal missions will remain playable even after future releases
Revamped Endgame
20 new Endgame missions available now after one completed the story campaign. These missions require an even more tactical approach than the previous ones
In 12 missions you will face the mighty Fomorians
8 missions are against the various enemy factions you already encountered in the campaign
Old Endgame missions are still accessible by loading saves which were created after the completion of Act IV
Those players, who haven't yet reached the end of the story will gain access only to the new Endgame missions
Players who finished the story already can open up the new Endgame by loading their save file which was created right after the completion of the last Act IV story mission. A new tab has been added to the Main menu under which this specific save will be displayed
The fights against the Endgame bosses (King Bres, Great Worm, Balor) were rebalanced to provide an even greater challenge than before
Most Endgame units were revised: their damage output has been decreased slightly but their Vitality has been boosted at the same time
Seasonal endgame mechanics
Collect Soul Fragments
Slain Fomorians drop a Fragment of their Souls that can be collected by stepping on them
Soul Fragments still hold part of the malicious Fomorian essence; picking one up bestows various debuffs on a Hero, based on the type of Soul
Soul Fragments expire after 2 Turns
Soul Fragments are lost if not picked up before expiry or by the end of the Encounter (except for the ones dropped at the very end of an Encounter)
Fomorian Spires
You may encounter Fomorian Spires on Missions
These Spires empower Fomorians and conjure powerful Hurricanes every Turn
Destroying them not only eliminates these effects, but also grants a Spire Shard
Collect Spire Shards to empower your Relics' unique enchants
New building: Soul Merchant
The Soul Merchant is located in Camelot
20+ new Seasonal Relic items have been added to its stock. Acquire them with collected Soul Fragments to enhance your Heroes' capabilities
Some of these Relics have unique enchants that get stronger as you acquire more Spire Shards
The Soul Merchant's stock does not refresh, all his goods are visible from the start, so you can plan ahead
Reduced storage space requirement
The occupied hard drive space of Knight's Tale has been decreased by more than (%). The current size was reached by compressing most textures as well as models
Side effect: due to the aforementioned changes the current patch has a much bigger size as the update restructures and replaces many files in the game's directory. All saves will remain playable

We're thrilled to announce that the voice of Balor during the Chained God mini campaign is narrated by Twitch streamer Cohh Carnage, who was a supporter of the game from the very beginning, so it was a no brainer to do something cool together
Difficulty levels in Roguelite mode
The four difficulty levels of Classic mode are now also available in Roguelite mode. All levels are identical to their Classic mode counterparts
Players can only set the difficulty level before starting a new campaign

A new shielded Melee role icon has been added to units with shield to indicate that these unit block a certain amount of incoming damage

Rebalanced some stats of the Vanguard:
Their default Surprise damage has been lowered to 30% from 50%

Their Backstab damage from ambush has been lowered to 15% from 20%
Various items granting surprise damage have also been moderately nerfed
Developer comment: Vanguards got really out of hand late game, easily dealing 3-4 times the damage that other classes were able to. These nerfs aim to mitigate that, while keeping the early and mid-levels of the class intact. After the changes, Vanguards will still be able to dish out more damage than any of the other classes (about 1.5x times the damage of Champions for example), but they won't be able to single-handedly delete whole enemy teams
Rebalanced the effect of the Demonic Possession tag to be less potent
Various Endgame maps have been improved from a balance perspective
Most of the endgame enemies have been rebalanced. Damage numbers have been scaled down, while vitality, armour, and AP numbers have been tuned in order to present a more fair, and consistent challenge
The minimum range of the Marksman's Poison Bomb is now 2 instead of 3
From now on, the Mental Debuff Resist stat defends units against the Chill effect of Lady Morgana le Fay's Glacial Strike skill instead of Physical Debuff Resist
The Vanguard's Sprint skill will put the Hero into Hidden state at the end of the player's turn if the conditions for Hide are sufficient (the Hero ends up on a tile where they can hide)
The Fire Drake skill received a ranged tag so it can benefit now from enchants providing increased range for ranged skills

Reduced install size coming on Thursday
Knights!
One of the most requested features to be added - or rather removed - was addressing Knight's Tale's install size. We're happy to announce that after in-depth testing we found a working solution that allows us to keep the game's visual fidelity while significantly reducing install size, and it's going live with the next update on Thursday.
With this fix, the game's directory will take up nearly 60% (!!!), or roughly 70GB less space, on your disk. We achieved this by compressing most texture files so that Knight's Tale is less demanding on storage devices.
Please note that the update will be larger than a normal patch, but once everything has finished downloading and installing, the overall file size of King Arthur: Knight's Tale will decrease significantly.

these past few weeks were spent busy around the studio, and we're super excited to announce that Knight's Tale's first major update will hit Steam in just 3 days! This means that come June 23, you will be able to embark on a mini-adventure to find out how Balor, the monstrous God-King of the Fomorians managed to free himself from the chains binding him. And we've got a couple more things in store too!
Revamped Endgame
First off all, with the new patch, we're reworking the structure of the Endgame in manner similar to Seasons in other titles. This means that each seasonal content update will focus on a new enemy faction, this time around the Fomorians. The Endgame will consist dozens of maps (just like in the current iteration), 12 of which are against the season's main antagonist faction. Besides this, you will be able to earn seasonal currency that you can exchange for unique rewards and enchants, as well as power-ups for these items.
Fixes & balance changes
We're also addressing various balance issues and several bugs reported by the amazing people in the community - our gratitude goes out to everyone who reported these to us on the forums and through Discord. With these, you can expect a more balanced experience and fewer difficulty spikes during the campaign, no matter which difficulty level you're playing on.

Developer comment: The combination of stacking AP per kill from various sources and the ease at which certain heroes can close the gap with enemies, combined with other, stacking on kill effects made this enchant far too powerful. We hope this change reduces the possibility to abuse this mechanic, without taking away from other builds that use it.
Increased the cooldown of the Vanguard's Jump skill a little bit. 3 turns needed for it to be used again but with its mastery this number can be lowered to 2
Developer comment: The Vanguard had the ability to deal massive damage, and do that without any repercussions. Jump combined with Hide was a complete safeguard for the class, no matter how aggressive or risky one played. With the changes, mistakes can be punished by the AI, and the Vanguard can't close distance so easily - thus making it harder to clear the whole backline of enemy teams with only one Hero

Tweaked shadows to improve the general performance across all maps
The Mission briefing window received a tooltip to indicate where you can change your active party's composition

Your journey in Avalon has just begun but things won't stop after the launch of course. Besides some hotfixes which are in the works (already released minor ones), the game will receive its first big patch in a form of a free content update in June.
The Chained God
We're happy to announce "The Chained God", the first free seasonal content update for King Arthur: Knight's Tale, coming in June for all players.
In "The Chained God" players will take up the role and will be able to play as the mighty Fomorians, the brutal and terrifying giants of Avalon - the main enemy faction of the Knights of the Round Table. The update features a brand new chain of short story missions, focused on these mystical creatures, introducing new gameplay, new items and expanding the lore.
"The Chained God" is the first of many free content updates coming to Knight's Tale. Besides these, other, longer form content is also in the works, however, details about these will be revealed later.

Fixed an issue where after saving your gameplay, the game could not detect the save files in the Documents folder
Implemented a new setting in the Options under the Graphics tab called 'Precise GPU Shadows'. The setting enabled can improve the shadows in the game
Developer comment: When disabled, this setting can tremendously improve the general experience for players who ran into frequent crashes in Knight's Tale, especially those who have an AMD Radeon card

Overwatch can be cancelled now in the same turn if one clicks on the button again and the Hero receives back all their spent Aps (Action Point)
Added a Quicksave/Quickload option

Fixed an encounter in the Forbidden Keep mission where sometimes not all Heroes were placed into the area of the battle
Fixed the Poison Cone skill's effect
Removed the difficulty level options from Roguelite as it was accidentally available in this mode
Fixed various Endgame missions which could not be finished even if you finished all objectives
Sometimes after loading a save file, critters did not move at all. This has been fixed
Fixed various voiceovers (including the female voice of the Merchant in Old Monastery which was supposed to be a male voice)
Fixed the Tradesman trait which did not display its benefit if we put Sir Bors into the Merchant
Fixed an issue where the Minimap could turn completely white if one selected another localization in mission
Corrected the description of the Travelling Merchant event to be more comprehensible
Skills (like the Unyielding skill of Mordred) which grant HP when hitting or killing enemy units will now work against Lost enemies and objects as well
Fixed an issue where players could get the same loot in the first few missions. Now the loot is more randomized
The Accept button did not work when one tried to save their progress with a controller. This has been fixed
