TOWER SPOTLIGHT: ROCKET RIDERS
“Ready for the big boom-boom?” the twitchy goblin lighting the fuse asked the one riding the rocket.
“To infinity and beyooooond!!!!” replied the rider as the rocket blasted off soaring higher and higher.
When the first rocket prototypes were introduced they were a big hit amongst the Dark Army, but they would always miss their mark, someone would have to control them, but who would be crazy enough to do so? There was only one answer, the reckless explosion loving Goblins!
“Soar high and explode big!” is their motto and the only thing they love more than a bunch of gunpowder is getting to light it up.
HERO SPOTLIGHT: OLOCH
Oloch, the demon, always excelled in both learning and using the dark arts. A mage prodigy who constantly got shadowed by his older brothers. The resentment and jealousy grew inside him, consistently striving to gather more power and thus show them who’s the best.
He started looking for “alternative” ways to get into a position of prestige, that’s when he found out about my plans to finally escape imprisonment. A deal was struck, power was given and I, the Dark Lord, was now free. Yet, everything always comes with a price, and for this favor, I granted Oloch a position as one of the top servants of my cause.
However, his plans didn’t end there, this was but the beginning of something bigger and far more sinister. Oloch thinks he can plot to take my crown and proclaim himself the new Dark Lord… I do not care for traitors, but it will be amusing to see him try.
HERO SPOTLIGHT: ASRA!
Heavy rains poured down the orphanage’s doorsteps as a baby girl was left there by a cloaked person. Not much was known about the baby’s origins other than the wrappings had the name “Asra” on them.
Years went by and Asra proved harder and harder to contain, her fits of rage grew heavier with each day’s passing. Something about her was amiss... her guardians could swear her eyes sparkled whenever she played with her wooden dagger.
The night’s sky roared with the sounds of thunder on Asra’s ninth birthday, and when everyone was about to go to bed, a group of cloaked strangers came asking to adopt someone by the name of “Asra”.
Little did she know that this would be the beginning of her path as a shadow assassin.
Her days, filled with the tortuous training needed to become the deadliest of assassins seemed endless, but something deep inside her told her she had to persevere, she knew she was destined for greatness.
With her training over, Asra joined the Dark Army and rose through the ranks faster than her arrows. When the time of vengeance arrived, Vez’nan himself handpicked her to lead part of the army.
TOWER SPOTLIGHT: INFERNAL MAGE!
Hailing from the hellish fires of the Rift of Cinders, the Infernal Mages devout their immortal lives to serving their Demon Lords with their pyromancy.
Although most mortal mages get their spellcasting powers from studying grimoires, harnessing the innate abilities of their bloodline or even making pacts with dark entities, the infernal mages cast their spells by channeling flames from the depths of the nether world itself.
They specialize in turning their enemies into fine ash and roasting chicken.
HERO SPOTLIGHT: VERUK!
The sun was setting over the tents, Veruk watched while an ogre and an orc set up a campfire, not far away, a goblin was busy bringing the meat that would soon be cooked. If he had said this could be true not too long ago, he would have been called delusional.
Ogres, Orcs, and Goblins do not mix; this is the motto he had heard since he was a young kid. He learned to stay away from those Greenskins whereabouts. Each race thought of themselves as higher and mightier than the others. This grudge was as old as time, so much that no one knew what started it anymore.
The only thing worse than Ogres and goblins were the bandits. Those humans were frail, but they compensated it with a sharp mind. The Kingpin's men knew how to set a trap that could capture even the smartest of Greenskins. He learned this the hard way: by falling prey to one while trying to save his kinsman.
The Bandits would not only steal his freedom but also treat them like animals, used to entertain the bloody tastes of their master: the Kingpin. Veruk rubbed his wrists, remembering the shackles that would come off once a day when he was forced to fight as a gladiator, turning the sands red with the blood of beasts to stay alive. It was on those sands that he learned to call any Greenskin a brother and helped them stay alive one more day, until that evening when he led a revolution against their captors and escaped.
His bravery became a legend on every Greenskin village and soon hordes of Orcs, Ogres, and goblins approached him looking for his protection and wisdom. Old quarrels were forgotten, and Veruk became their leader and hero, an honor he never asked for. Now it's his fate and destiny to lead the Warmongers to the gates of the human realm and guide his people, the Greenskins, to victory.
