Klepto v0.1.5 patch is now available for download. This patch includes the following updates and fixes:
-House loading fix is now applied to the Fragbound Farms neighborhood
-AI pathing around vehicles has been improved
-Police arrest sequence has been cleaned up, this fixes a bug where the arrest event was not getting properly triggered in some instances, the thief will no longer do the "running man" while being arrested, we have added a kneeling animation that will now trigger
-Police car AI has been improved for suspect detection, if you are currently wanted, police cars will now do a better job of detecting you if you get too close to them, we may continue to adjust the range of this detection in future patches
-A minor bug with interactive furniture has been fixed, internal drawers would remain open and sticking through the main door when closed, i.e. refrigerators
-additional houses now furnished in fragbound farms
Enjoy the new patch and happy stealing!

Alpha 0.1.5
This week's patch was primarily focused around the police AI. We've improved how the AI cop cars detect suspects (players with an elevated alert level). We've also resolved the "Running Man" dance caused by the arrest sequence occurring while the player was mid-run. Additionally, we've reworked the pathing for AI vehicles. As always, we've also updated Fragbound Farms with additional houses populated.
Alpha 0.2.0 Progress
In addition to the continued fixes and improvements to Alpha 0.1, the team has been hard at work on all of the features being packed into our first major content release, Alpha 0.2.0. This release remains on schedule to be delivered in Q4.
Multiplayer: Cops & Robbers
Excessive force has never been so much fun! The Stun-o-matic 9000 is the latest in nerve twitching, somewhat less-than-lethal, tools of behavioral modification. Wield corrective action at a bladder alleviating 7.8M volts longer than ever before with the newly redesigned nickel-metal hydride (NI-MH) battery standard in all models. Call your authorized reseller today to schedule a test prodding.
Mission System v1.0
The updated mission system framework has been one of my main priorities. Rather than trying to summarize this feature in a short paragraph, I'll be writing a dedicated dev blog post next week to cover all the details of "Garret's List" aka Mission System v1.0 coming in Alpha 2.0. Be sure to check back!
Hacking v1.0
New toys arrived! I've been diving deeper into RF hacking in the real-world to ensure our hacking mechanics remain as realistic as possible. I spent some time over the weekend reverse engineering the RF signals from my car's key fob and garage door opener in an attempt at some replay attacks I have planned for Hacking v1.0 in Klepto.
As I have planned for the Mission System next week, in a couple of weeks I'll be writing a dedicated dev blog post to dive deeper into the Alpha 2.0 hacking mechanics.
klept_os Mobile v2.0
Both the mission system and hacking gameplay along with the upcoming Cops and Robbers multiplayer game mode rely heavily on the players klept_os tablet. Because of this, a lot of work is going into redesigning and expanding upon its functionality and ease of interaction. Some of the changes include a GPS/Maps app to help you navigate the neighborhoods. Additionally, we're working on full touch interaction for HTC Vive and Oculus Touch controllers.
Be sure to check out the upcoming dev blog posts on the Mission System v2.0 and Hacking v1.0 for more details on the upcoming tablet changes.
Inventory v2.0
With the upcoming Mission System v1.0 and klept_os Mobile 2.0 changes, we're reworking several aspects of the inventory / loot management. We'll be updating the current placeholder loot values with more realistic prices. Although food items will no longer have a monetary value, we do have some special plans for these items.
Safe Cracking v2.0
Safe cracking is getting a major overhaul to include all new types of safes with varying levels of difficulty. While we still intend on these being very difficult to crack, at least without the in-game purchase of specialized tools, certain safes will have unique weaknesses making them easier to crack.
Post-Alpha 2.0
Although there's still a lot of work remaining to finish Fragbound Farms, Apothis, our lead level designer has created some new luxury townhomes to be used in our next neighborhood. Here's an early look.
New Build on Beta Branch
Hi Everyone,
We just posted the latest build on our beta branch. This introduces our new house loading system to the Fragbound Farms neighborhood. So now you should be able to explore and preview that neighborhood much more easily. As usual, please let us know if you encounter any issues!
Also, stay tuned for some exciting dev updates from NobleSpoon (Matt) this weekend!
Klepto Alpha 0.1.4 Patch Released
Hi everyone!
We're excited to share that we've pushed out our 0.1.4 patch today. Two big issues have been fixed in this patch.
- House Loading, houses will now load in immediately as you approach them with no delay in Murky Meadows. This fix has NOT yet been applied to Fragbound Farms while our level designers are still actively furnishing new houses. We'll get this fix applied to Fragbound Farms in the next patch.
-Turning/Movement Controls, we've fixed up the turning controls for gamepad and keyboard. There will no longer be any jerkyness and annoying delays while you were waiting for your character to finish its turning animation. It should be a much smoother experience.
Some other minor issues that have been addressed include:
-Pedestrian AI pathing
-Tweaks to vehicle AI collision avoidance
-Traffic lights getting stuck on yellow
That's our patch for this week, we hope you enjoy the fixes. With those 2 big ticket items now out of the way we can get focused on our new features we want to get in for alpha 0.2.0. Thanks to everyone for their continued support!
New Test Patch on Beta Branch
Hi Everyone,
We've just posted a new test patch on our beta branch. This patch is to test our new method of loading houses in Murky Meadows. House loading should be instant now with little to no delay. If you have your Klepto install set on the beta branch it should pull the new update. Check it out and let us know what you think and if you encounter any issues!

Recent Updates
Since launch, we've continued to push out patches every 1-2 weeks. The primary focus for these recent updates has been crash fixes and stability improvements.
This week's patch (Alpha 0.1.3) fixed the black screen issue that occurred during level loading in offline mode. Additionally, the time of day selection has also been fixed.
The previous patch addressed the Fatal Error crashes reported by a small group of players.
With each patch, we have also been adding additional game-ready houses to "visit" and new residents to welcome to the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, I've been slacking on getting the release notes published when these patches go live. We'll be getting more formalized release notes posted with our future patches going forward.
Coming Soon
More bug fixes! We're also completely redesigning how we save/load the persistent state of the thousands of individual dynamic assets that players can interact with in the levels to reduce loading times of house interiors with a more reliable level of persistence.
We're also adding more interactive furniture to stash all of our little secrets, spare change, TV remotes (batteries not included), unpaid bills, and perhaps a few valuables.
Alpha 0.2.0 News
Our first major feature release is currently planned to be completed in Q4. We're expecting this update to more than double the current amount of in-game content. Planned features include (but not limited to):
<*>Multiplayer Cops vs Robbers: Competitive team-based multiplayer
<*>Improved multiplayer matchmaking
<*>New multiplayer chat/social system
<*>Fragbound Farms game-ready (currently in a "preview state")
<*>Mission System 2.0 (lots of new missions and mission types)
<*>Residential hacking 1.0
<*>New security system types
<*>Additional lootable items including unique and rare items
Alex, our 3D prop modeler has recently finished up some of the new security system and hacking related assets based on popular home security devices like the Canary and the Netgear Arlo.

Game Updates
We are planning weekly patches for fixes and minor content updates/improvements. In addition to the minor content updates, we’ll be posting larger content and feature updates on a monthly basis as these new features are completed. Be sure to cast your votes on the Trello Early Access Roadmap to help us determine which of these upcoming features you're most interested in seeing implemented first.
Issue Reporting
We’ve setup a subforum on the Steam Community discussion board to report new issues. We will open a Jira (internal bug tracking tool) ticket for new issues and include the ticket number in our response.
We will then post cards of these tickets on the Trello Early Access Roadmap under the Bug Tracking list. Be sure to cast your vote on these cards if you are also impacted by one of these open issues.
VR Support
We are planning to release an update next week that includes several VR specific options to customize from the main menu including graphical settings and default locomotion options.
Supporting both VR and non-VR gameplay presents us with a difficult decision regarding tradeoffs. We don't want a visual reduction in quality to impact non-VR players who are not impacted by the massive rendering overhead of VR but at the same time, we want to make sure our VR players enjoy the same level of gameplay.
Our VR implementation still needs quite a bit of work on both an optimization perspective and overall controls. Keep the feedback coming on the VR subforum. We’ve got a lot of improvements in the works, much of which has been based on feedback we’ve seen so far.
