Patch 1.2.0: Key Bindings and Leaderboards

Update Patch 1.2.0 is live and key bindings are finally here! Besides key rebinding this update introduces leaderboards and more! Below you will find all the changes for this patch:

Features and Fixes



  • Keyboard key rebinding is now available!
  • Added the Crawler Callboard! This interface lets you see a few statistics about your crawlers and your leaderboard rankings. A lot of these values will be zero as they weren't tracked before the Callboard was added but will update as you play
  • Added Leaderboards for deepest depths reached and hardcore deepest depths reached
  • So far only the above leaderboards exist. I plan to add more in future updates
  • You can view the full leaderboards through the Steam Community page and clicking on "View Stats." Alternatively, you can click here to view them

  • You can now extract essence from Glyphs at your blacksmith
  • Glyphs are now sorted at your blacksmith from highest to lowest rarity
  • Glyph roll values have been adjusted so higher tier Glyphs do not roll lower values than lower tiers Glyphs
  • Glyph maximum rolls have been buffed by up to 75% for Ethereal, Astral, Celestial, and Cosmic Glyphs
  • Glyph drop rates have been lowered across the board due to the value changes.
  • You were previously guaranteed a Cosmic Glyph when you were above depth 20. Rarity is now randomly rolled depending on depth, with higher tier Glyphs being available at deeper depths
  • Depth breakpoints for Glyphs have been changed to the following:
  • Temporal Glyphs : Depth 1
  • Ethereal Glyphs : Depth 5
  • Astral Glyphs : Depth 12
  • Celestial Glyphs : Depth 25
  • Cosmic Glyphs : Depth 40

  • Added new cards : Sanctity, Divinity, Purity . These cards heal you and increase your max health
  • Maximum Health cards no longer heal you if you are at full health. Only the new hybrid cards heal and increase health
  • Barrels used to get up to hidden chests in a certain room are no longer destructible. You can safely pick Orbital cards without missing out on hidden chests.
  • Added backgrounds to menus to make them more legible
  • Added post processing effects when pausing in the Sanctuary to make the pause state clearer
  • Added volume sliders to audio settings buttons in main settings menu
  • Controls panel now only shows the bindings for your current controller type
  • Welcome message no longer appears if you have already seen it once

  • Melee attack speed was bugged and enabled you to attack 50 times a second instead of a maximum of 5 times a second. Melee attacks are now capped at 8 attacks per second
  • Fixed a bug where you could get stuck on the big beer kegs in an overgrown room
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to rack up infinite domination runes. If your character has more than 5 dominion points allocated this update will reset your dominions and you will have to reallocate 5 points in your tree.
  • Fixed a bug that caused hardcore characters to not be reset as intended after perishing
  • Fixed an issue that caused some XBox One controllers to not be recognized
  • Fixed a bug at the Blacksmith that did not update the button prompt text
  • Fixed visual artifacts for smaller fonts when playing in resolutions below 1920x1080
  • Fixed an issue with the loading screen not consistently fading in and out as intended

Balance Changes



  • Buffed all melee damage cards to help with melee scaling in deeper crawls
  • Slightly reduced attack speed scaling and buffed base weapon attack speed to balance late game laser beam attack speeds
  • The following cards have had their values reworked:
  • Aria of the Druid - Increased Enhanced defence from 5% to 15%
  • Composure - Increased melee damage from 20 to 50
  • Permanence - Increased Maximum Health added from 75 to 95
  • Perseverance - Increased Enhanced Melee Damage from 10% to 20%

Patch 1.1.1 is now live! Below you will find a list of all the changes for the current version.

UPDATE 1.1.1 PATCH NOTES



  • Reduced the jump cooldown from 1 second to 0.5 seconds
  • Items can be extracted over the spawner without activating it... for real for real...
  • Added an icon and text value for domination runes so players know if they have runes to spend
  • Fixed PS5 and XBox 360 controllers not being recognized
  • Fixed a bug that caused crawlers to be yeeted out of rooms
  • If you still manage to be catapulted outside a room somehow, the room will come to your rescue <3
  • Fixed a bug that caused crawlers to get stuck in walls or through the floor
  • Fixed a bug that stopped crawler from shooting projectiles
  • Fixed an issue that caused enemies to take inconsistent amounts of force, making them ping-pong around rooms at neck-break speeds, breaking your neck if you were hit by a goblin fighter jet
  • Crawler level icon and text moved to the inventory as it was being confused with depth level
  • Fixed a bug that stopped multiplayer matches from being completed as intended
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies to stop moving after being chilled
  • Fixed Occultist auras freezing enemies in place instead of slowing them down
  • Reduced the sound effect volume of ignite, chill, and poison effects
  • Reduced sound effect volume of Trickster passives now
  • Fixed an issue that caused enemies to drop items twice... sorry...
  • Reduced the drop chance of cosmetics from Khorgos as it was an easy and reliable way to farm cosmetics

Hotfix v1.1.0.3

Hey peeps,

Quick little hotfix that addressed some issues from 1.1.0.


  • Fixed a bug that made the glyph tooltip not disappear after extracting essence from it
  • Addressed an issue where minimizing the game did not block input, essentially still running even if the game window wasn't focused
  • Slightly reduced the chance for weapons to drop but increased their chances of rolling higher values

Thank you for bringing these issues to my attention so I could get them fixed!

Patch 1.1.0 is Live, and it's a biggy!

While working towards patch 1.0.5 I ended up making a lot of changes, bug fixes, and additions to Knight Crawlers and thought this patch deserved to be upgraded to 1.1.0! Below you will find the changelog:

UPDATE 1.1.0 PATCH NOTES



General Changes and Fixes



  • Domination Runes now drop as intended! You can find up to five domination runes scattered throughout the Ancient Realms.
  • Creating a new character now works as intended and all progress is properly reset. This will override your save file, but all your cosmetics will be carried over between saves. I intend to add more save slots in the future so you can have multiple characters.
  • Game mode selection screen now appears as intended when creating a new character.
  • Glyphs can now be extracted for essence. You can't sell them at the Blacksmith yet, but this mechanic will be implemented in v1.1.1.
  • When going to a new room, all items left on the floor are automatically extracted. Don't be scared when you are chased by a thousand essences!
  • The spawner has had a visual overhaul so as to not have it be confused with corpse explosions. The size of the spawner has also been increased.
  • The shadow the spawner casts has had its opacity reduced so you can see the traps underneath it more clearly.
  • Fixed a visual issue that made your crawler's arms shake uncontrollably as if he were real cold.
  • Slightly rebalanced Earthquack to compensate for the insane damage output of the Spell Slingers out there. This only affects people who have specced into tiers 2 and above of the Spell Slinger tree.
  • Corpse explosions should not be going off and floating in the air.
  • The depth 100 chest now appears as it always should have.
  • Base movement speed has been increased by 20% and base health has been increased from 300 to 400 to make the early game easier.
  • Critical Strike Chance now updates and displays as intended in your UI.
  • Defence scaling has been increased to feel more impactful.
  • Shrine effects are now disabled if you travel to the Terror's Chamber.
  • Fixed an issue with Crawler Duties regressing instead of progressing after defeating the First Terror.
  • Attack speed slightly rebalanced for the end game as it was very easy to fire off 50 projectiles a second.
  • Projectiles stored in memory during a crawl has now doubled, essentially doubling the projectiles per second you can shoot if heavily investing into attack speed.
  • Projectiles properly update when picking up a different ranged weapon type instead of only updating after starting a new crawl.
  • Fixed a visual bug that caused essences to spawn downwards instead of upwards.
  • Fixed a bug that stopped Khorgos from attacking.
  • Added a visual message when looting the Domination Runes and the Ancient Artifact.
  • Fixed a collider that was awkwardly close to Earthquack that shouldn't have been there.

Dominions Rework


Conjurer

  • Friendly Imp now gives you 3 minions instead of 1.
  • Minion damage and attack speed has been significantly buffed.
  • Scent of Blood - Now triggers at 35% health instead of 25%

Trickster

  • Dash's distance has been increased to make dodging enemy attacks easier
  • Intuition - Now deals more damage when landing on enemies.
  • Impact - Dashing now fires 35 projectiles instead of 15.

Occultist

  • Malediction - Damage has been increased from 50% weapon damage to 125%.
  • Terrify - Significantly increased the size of the aura's area of effect.
  • Intensify - Now also increases your Occultist aura damage from 125% weapon damage to 175% while also increasing your crawler damage by 25%

Spell Slinger

  • Reworked off-hand ranged weapons that can be used with Unstoppable
  • Once Unstoppable is allocated, off-hand ranged weapons will start dropping
  • These weapons have very high local damage and attack speed. This is because off-hand weapons are not affected by your main damage, only by ranged damage and weapon type damage.
  • Off-hand ranged weapons cannot be worn on the main hand and vice-versa

Other Changes

  • The Void - Reworked how the void works. You now get 1 extra damage per enemy killed, but have a 5% chance of increasing the damage you take by 1.
  • New particle effects have been added for The Void. The higher the amount of extra damage you deal and take, the more intense the effect gets.
  • Brawler - Added visual effects for Anger Management and Ravager.


Besides the above changes, some polish and small tweaks and bug fixes have been made here and there. Thanks again to everyone who has played Knight Crawlers, for your continued support, feedback, and suggestions.

As most of the major bugs have been addressed, I am excited to start updating Knight Crawlers with new quality of life changes such as key binding, extra save slots, and more content such as the co-op campaign and new realms!

Update Patch Notes v1.0.4

Hello peeps!

I am slowly but surely going through everyone's reports, feedback, and suggestions and getting updates out as fast as I can. With that being said, patch 1.0.4 is now live and below you will find the changelog.

UPDATE 1.0.4 PATCH NOTES


  • Earthquack now drops a Domination Rune as intended. She now also drops a lot of juicy loot and cosmetics, making farming her a lot more worthwhile. Her damage has also slightly been rebalanced.
  • Earthquack's Crawler Duty now properly updates to the next step after being defeated.
  • Earthquack's immunity to active skills is now properly displayed on her health bar.
  • Attack speed now affects melee attack speed as well. Thank you to the kind soul who suggested this on Discord!
  • Base melee attack speed has been increased by 20% to make melee attacks feel better in the early game.
  • Fixed a bug where your character visuals were not loading properly, leading you to be headless and naked.
  • General Items (glyphs, cosmetics, domination runes, and artifacts) no longer get looted if you are not actively looking at their tooltip.
  • Visual effects have now been added for the Dominion passives from the Brawler tree.
  • Dropped items should stack less frequently making it easier to go through them.
  • Fixed a bug where if you received health while Celestially Blessed the health bar UI would not visually update as intended.
  • Fixed a bug where if you died while inspecting a General Item the tooltip would haunt you in your Sanctuary until you found another General Item in a subsequent crawl.


Thank you for your patience and continued support through suggestions, feedback, and bug reports, I really appreciate it. I know a big sticking point for many people is key rebinding and I am working hard on getting that implemented as soon as possible.

I am committed to getting as many of these bugs fixed as soon as possible so I can move on to the fun and exciting content updates I have planned for Knight Crawlers!

Patch 1.0.3 is now live! Below you will find a list of all the changes for the current version.

UPDATE 1.0.3 PATCH NOTES




  • Added attack indicators to enemies. Enemies now telegraph their attacks and give players time to either dodge or jump out of the way.
  • Fixed a bug where Dominion minions were not respawning if they were too far from your crawler
  • Slightly rebalanced enemies and reduced their movement speed to make them easier to handle in the early depths
  • Fixed an issue where shields could not be equipped
  • Fixed a glitch that duplicated item stat rolls to items you were currently wearing. Dropped items do not affect the rolls on worn items anymore.
  • Enemies no longer deal random damage to you and you only take damage when you are hit by a weapon swing, projectile, or if an enemy headbutts you.
  • Arcane shrines are no longer activated if you are equipped dropped items close to shrines
  • The spawning circle does not activate if you are extracting items within the spawning area
  • Wagering Shrine sound effects fixed to better represent whether you received an item or nothing dropped
  • Wagering Shrine drop rates have been rebalanced to be more rewarding
  • Arcane Shrine spawn chance has been slightly increased
  • Glyphs, domination runes, cosmetics, and artifacts are no longer picked up if you are not actively looking at their tooltip
  • Temporarily removed the lava room as it was causing too many issues with Khorgos and it could potentially brick a crawl if the enemy you were attacking would jump in the lava.
