Patch 1.0.3 is now live! Below you will find a list of all the changes for the current version.
UPDATE 1.0.3 PATCH NOTES
Added attack indicators to enemies. Enemies now telegraph their attacks and give players time to either dodge or jump out of the way.
Fixed a bug where Dominion minions were not respawning if they were too far from your crawler
Slightly rebalanced enemies and reduced their movement speed to make them easier to handle in the early depths
Fixed an issue where shields could not be equipped
Fixed a glitch that duplicated item stat rolls to items you were currently wearing. Dropped items do not affect the rolls on worn items anymore.
Enemies no longer deal random damage to you and you only take damage when you are hit by a weapon swing, projectile, or if an enemy headbutts you.
Arcane shrines are no longer activated if you are equipped dropped items close to shrines
The spawning circle does not activate if you are extracting items within the spawning area
Wagering Shrine sound effects fixed to better represent whether you received an item or nothing dropped
Wagering Shrine drop rates have been rebalanced to be more rewarding
Arcane Shrine spawn chance has been slightly increased
Glyphs, domination runes, cosmetics, and artifacts are no longer picked up if you are not actively looking at their tooltip
Temporarily removed the lava room as it was causing too many issues with Khorgos and it could potentially brick a crawl if the enemy you were attacking would jump in the lava.

A Word From the Developer
Hello hello,
I wanted to thank everyone that has played Knight Crawlers and for the continued support, feedback, and suggestions I have been receiving. Having said that, I wanted to address some of the challenges Knight Crawlers is facing and my plans moving forward.
Working on a game alone means needing to do a dozen jobs at the same time which makes it difficult to manage. The feedback has helped with this immensely as it helps focus my efforts in the right places.
Given that this is the first game I have developed and that I taught myself to program specifically for this project, I knew I was bound to make mistakes and overlook some design choices that might not be optimal. In hindsight, I should have released the game as Early Access, but with the playtests I ran and alpha and beta rounds I thought I was confident in the state Knight Crawlers was in.
By no means is Knight Crawlers a broken, unplayable mess, but there is a lot of room for improvements both in terms of content and quality of life. I want everyone to know that my wife and I are diligently reading all feedback and suggestions and keeping track of every bug found and feature requested and working through the list slowly but surely.
The most glaring thing about Knight Crawlers is the choice for not having mouse support, and the main reason why I opted to open a demo is because I knew it would be a very divisive topic. I wanted players to be able to jump in and try the game for themselves before committing to a purchase that they might not enjoy.
With that in mind, I will at some point implement mouse support, but as I would need to completely rework the entire UI system this will take time. At the moment, I am implementing key bindings which in hindsight I know should have been available at launch, and I hope for the time being this helps with making the game feel better on keyboard.
I am happy people are enjoying the game, even happier that they are passionate enough to give feedback on areas where the game could improve, and I am genuinely appreciative of all the constructive criticism I have received in regards to the things I need to fix in Knight Crawlers.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I hope the changes I have planned for Knight Crawlers will improve the experience for everyone.
Cheers, Ivan and Tanya
Update Patch v1.0.2 Notes
Hello everyone,
A new hotfix is live that addresses the issues with minions not following players and crawls sometimes bricking because auto attacks stop working. I am confident this hotfix has addressed all possible edge cases that made these issues occur but if it does pop up for anyone, please let me know and I will fix it right away.
Thank you for your continued support and for your patience and understanding!
Update Patch v1.0.1 Notes
Hello peeps,
Thank you to everyone who has played the game and given feedback and suggestions, I really appreciate it a whole lot. Given the bugs that were reported, I wanted to update the game to fix some of the most pressing issues. I wasn't able to get all the major bugs, but I will be working through the weekend to release a second patch for those!
UPDATE 1.0.1 PATCH NOTES
Fixed a visual bug where the crawler duty was incorrectly showing that the Terror's Artifact was in room 35 instead of 45
Removed the lava room that caused Khorgos and other enemies to brick your crawler's auto attacks and stopped you from spawning new enemies
Fixed an issue where changing languages would make text descriptions invisible
Game no longer goes to windowed mode when returning to main menu
Fixed a visual bug that incorrectly displayed the Domination Rune description
Fixed the dreaded freeze time bug where unpausing the game would make the game's time scale 0
Simplified keyboard controls and updated the controls panel for keyboard keybindings
Lowered the SFX volume when defeating Khorgos as it was causing heart attacks all across the nation
Slightly lowered the crawler dialogue volume and his voice lines are now tied to the SFX settings volume
Crawler grunt chance has been decreased... ugh...
Fixed a bug where if a player died while a shrine was active the crawler duties were not resetting back to the correct duty
Fixed a bug that would not update the crawler duty tied to spending domination runes
Player no longer gets yeeted into the abyss. This also applies to enemies!
Fixed a bug where corpse explosions were damaging crawlers even if standing outside of the danger zone
Crawler weapons and limbs no longer get stuck in gratings and fences
Removed pesky vines that crawlers could get stuck on in overgrown rooms
