Long time no hear. We've been dug deep into the back-end part of the game and most of it isn't particularly interesting for the majority of people as long as they value their sanity.
Those works are still in progress and since we are quite a small indie team they might still take a while.
As the Master once said, "Patience is a virtue of the true Knight. You never know if the heavens haven't planned sudden diarrhoea for your opponent" and we took his words to heart.
We are happy to start sharing an introduction/prequel to the Knights & Outlaws story as... it appeared we simply can't hold our horses and going full Mel Brooks and Monthy Python on it... sorry... it will be either gloriously good or hilariously bad, maybe both.
From now on Devlogs will appear as some sort of fable. Please tell us how terrible it is as Syr Christopher collects hate comments to sew tapestries. We will share stuff from the game somewhere along the lines.
Without further ado, let's dive into Dank Ages/Memdieval Times. Expect nothing and take a good pint of ale as the bard has started his tale...
Not so long ago, in a kingdom unknown to the civilized world, there was a village, a hole in the ass-end of the universe. Good people lived there and the turnips they farmed were the best in the region. Market day contributed greatly to the folks' bliss.
The people were singing, and also they danced or at least they tried. A new sound joined the joyful cacophony when with the horses also came the knights. The trumpets were playing, and the Herald was shouting, and He passed the announcements of the King’s decrees. The steel armour gleamed, and the warriors continued to make noise with their instruments, oblivious to the holes in the road making their instruments sound like a kind of a duck with a lung infection. "The King of the Realm, the Conqueror of Enemies, the Protector of People, The Very Important Person, the Greatest Sword Owner, the Prodigy, The Husband of the Queen, The Finest Stall..."
"TO THE POINT WE ARE OVER HOURS NOW"
"...Announces! To celebrate the name day of the third favourite pony of the queen, a Great Knightly Tournament will happen! Royal couple invites all..."
"Another tournament? The previous one was last week!"
"...Brave warriors to participate in the biggest, longest, most wonderful tournament ever organized..."
"Last one was the greatest ever as well!"
"And to properly represent the greatness of our Kingdom we would like to ask you to like and subscri..."
The first turnip flew just next to the Herald's ear. If he noticed it, he did not show himself.
"...and DONATE to support the magnificent mission of growing the popularity of our national sport!"
The second turnip went for the head, and the Herald dodged it effortlessly. The crowd became slightly confused, the thrower was John, son of John, and he never misses even if he made roundhouse kick first. The mob was up to challenge. More turnips flew towards the Herald, but he just stood there dodging all the projectiles with both shoes, never leaving the ground like he had some sort of instinct... Whatever he said after it drowns in voices of people enjoying new entertainment. Soon knights came forward, raised their shields and started singing about the greatness of local blacksmith skills and quality. No turnip hit Herald this day.
The wrinkles of the knight sitting in a nearby garden of the nearby tavern deepened when a smile appeared on his face. Single grey hairs gleamed in the sun as he put down his mug. "Boy. Prepare the horse. If the kingdom calls, the knight must respond. And whoever fulfils their duties will be rewarded..."

It's a very niche and complex game with, quite frankly, TERRIBLE introduction and tutorial that led to Negative reviews bombing after 30 min of gameplay (30 min doesn't even cover the prologue part of the game). We strongly suggest checking the prologue first if You like its gameplay. It's free, unique, complex and fun, but it's clunky to dive in.
The name of the game has changed. It's Knights & Outlaws now. During the production, we have decided to move towards the adventure and story-driven style of the game. Simulator mechanics will still be present, but we feel like Knight Simulator's name doesn't fit anymore.
