Update #18 - Getting closer to launch!


Hey folks!

It's time for an update as the launch is getting closer! This update is mainly fixes and tweaks but we managed to squeeze in another challenge. Plus, we changed the challenges to be locked in a certain order if you have not finished them yet!

Here's the changes breakdown :

Changes



  • Added the names of the players in the result screen.
  • Added the new Crystalor challenge
  • Challenges are now locked if you didn't complete the previous one.
  • The dark knights challenge is now the last challenge as it's the hardest.
  • Fixed an issue in online multiplayer with grails/flags/juggernaut pickables
  • Fixed an issue with the scores not being the same on different clients
  • Changed how the boomerang works, you can now throw multiple at a time if you're skillful enough.


Also, keep in mind that when the game fully releases (Nov 16), all Early Access backers will receive 4 additional game modes to fiddle with.

Update #17 - FINALLY an update! Lots of stuff!



Hey folks!

We may have looked very dead in the last couple of months but we were hard at work on the Xbox One version! With a small team, it's hard to do all at once! So here it is, update #17 :

Change list



  • FX trails on sword hits. Spin it and look at that cool trail!
  • Names of the players are now shown in the UI. Know who you're up against!
  • Changed the way the menus work. Only the first player has control over them and can go back even when there is other players in the character selection menu.
  • Fixed the sound on the main menu intro
  • Added the random mode
  • Changed how the soccer is played to make it networkable.
  • SOCCER IS NOW PLAYABLE ONLINE!
  • Bots showdown is now pausable and quittable
  • Modified the dark knight challenge to remove the explosive arrows power up.
  • Changed how the leaderboards work to add in the milliseconds for more challenge precision!
  • Added 3 unlockable knights! The dark knight is a super easy one to unlock with how the challenges are setupped at the moment.
  • Added achievements!
  • Lots of online fixes and tweaks. It should be infinitely more enjoyable to play online as of now.
  • Mac and Linux builds should hopefully be fixed. If that's not the case, make sure to throw a couple stones our way so we can fix this ASAP.
  • Bots will now try to unfreeze themselves
  • Bug fixes in the nest and troll challenges where you could walk off the face of the map.



We also resetted the leaderboards since the score format has changed and that all the previous scores are now bad.

I'm most likely forgetting something but yeah it's a pretty big update nonetheless!

Update #16 - Online Fixes, Dragons Challenge, New main menu!



Hello folks!

We've been silent for a while but we have a pretty good update fixing a bunch of stuff available just in time for the weekend! Here's the list of changes :

New Features :



  • New Dragons challenge


Tweaks :



  • You can now see games that are ongoing. You can't join them but you can actually see if someone is online playing. No more waiting in the lobby hoping for other players!
  • Added new voice sounds for the in game texts that were missing.
  • Changed the main menu screen animation
  • Changed the screen where you tell how many players are going to play online
  • Changed lobby selection menu to look better


Fixes :



  • Fixed the MAC Build!
  • Did a networking fix that should cut latency by 40-50ms all the time.
  • Fixed a bug in last man standing that would fail ending the game for a client sometimes.

Mini Update #15 - Fixes, fixes, fixes!

Hey folks!

We're back from GDC/PAX and we just wanted to get a build up with a couple fixes that were bugging us (and most probably you as well)! Here's the short list of fixes that were done coming back :

Fixes



  • OSX version should now be correct and work properly!
  • Dark Knight Challenge is operational once again.
  • Changed the Trolls challenge to cap at 8 kills.
  • Fixed the grail issue where a player could respawn bearing the grail and capturing it.
  • Tweaked the online capturables (Grail, Flag, Juggernaut) to be a lot less buggy
  • Resetted the Dark Knights and Trolls challenge leaderboard since they were fixed.


If you find other bugs or something we might have missed, let us know so we can rectify it!

PAX Collector Contest!

Update #14 - Trolls challenge, Bots Showdown, Bunch of fixes!



Hey folks!

This week is going to be a crazy one with GDC and PAX East which we're both attending. So we thought we'd push a new build for you guys with a bunch of stuff in there. Here's the list of changes :

Features



  • New Attack of the Trolls challenge!
  • Added Bots Showdown mode. Watch bots fighting each others!


Fixes/Tweaks



  • New death FXs for each character.
  • Fixed the juggernaut mode in online.
  • Going to the online mode and back to the challenge will now work properly.
  • Reworked the capturables to work better online.
  • Changed the minigun to be synced properly online.
  • Visual glitch with projectiles online and visual trails has been fixed

Update #13 - Mega update de la muerte!



Hello folks!

We've been working for a while in the cave on multiple new stuff for you all! We really wanted to get this out the door before the weekend so here it is! Here's a list of what's new in the build :

Features



  • MULTIPLAYER ONLINE! Oh yeah the first release is here. Note that a lot of fixes and tweaks are in order and that this is the first update of many, but... it's here! P.S. The Juggernaut is pretty broken if you want to have some Wtfs going on.
  • New challenges! We've added 2 new challenges to the challenge list. 3 more are to come!
  • A truck load of new maps. New maps for everyone!
  • New animation for all the knights! We felt the knights should have a bit more personality, so we decided to give them some! Let us know which one you prefer!


Bugfixes



  • Big memory leak fix. This should fix issues where the game started running slow and doing increasingly big freezes when playing.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could start walking very slowly for no reason.
  • Reset all the leaderboards since the first challenge has been tweaked.


We also came to the hard decision to drop the Tower of Destiny from the game. Read more infos on the post I'll be doing on the discussions!

Update #12 - Ice Balista, New map, Lots of tweaks



Hey everyone!

We're finally back from Christmas with a new build and promise for an even brighter tomorrow! We've added a couple things, tweaked a lot more and did some major fixes for the new build! If everything goes well, a beta version with the first playable online build should also be available next week after the PAX South.

In the meantime, here's the change list!

Features :


  • Added the possibility to change the end condition of each game mode (Ex : 5 rounds won instead of the basic 3 in Last Man Standing)
  • An ice balista is now present in multiple levels. Beware not getting hit or you'll be frozen for a while!
  • Added Disco party grail map, LASERS EVERYWHERE!
  • Added the option to enable or disable the V-Sync since it can cause stutters with some NVidia cards


Tweaks :


  • Modified the get power up feedback to include the level of the power up your getting (Ex : Explosive Arrows - Level Max, Boots - Level 3, etc)
  • Added a countdown to the stat screen
  • Reworked most of the maps to change the tileset visual
  • Modified a couple maps to add in fire breathing dragons
  • Fire breathing dragons play a little animation when spewing fire and show smoke prior to firing.
  • Animations are now fluid. Interpolation between them works properly.


Fixes :


  • Fixed controller issue when a controller got disconnected
  • Fixed an input issue that would sometimes (often on some computers) miss attack inputs
  • Fixed the win feedback that would display the previous' game winner before showing the good one
  • Fixed an issue in the stat screen where moving your joystick would mark you as ready to continue.

Update #11 - Tweaks



Hey folks!

It's time for a little update today! Much of our efforts in the latest weeks have been on online multiplayer but we still went ahead and did a bunch of tweaks we think will make the game better! Here's a small breakdown :

Tweaks



  • Characters are now about 25% bigger, making it easier to read the battlefield.
  • Added shadows to block tiles and characters
  • Modified the map backgrounds for the Castle and the Nature tilesets so that the players would stand out a bit more.
  • Skeletons are a bit darker
  • Bombs now go through other people
  • The juggernaut now spawns in a predefined location instead of being randomly given to a player.


Fixes



  • Fixed the blockyness of fonts in the menus.
  • Fixed the freeze to stop being frozen when dead.

Update #10 - Tweaks, New levels visual, New maps



Hey guys!

New update is right around the corner with a couple things! This update is mainly tweaks as we did a major change in the background that broke a bunch of things. So here's the list of changes :

Features



  • Revamped CTF map and new Crystal Rush map with new map visuals! Play in the forest maps
  • New song in the soundtrack!


Tweaks



  • You can now unfreeze faster if you mash the attack buttons.
  • Shield animation and fx when losing a shield.
  • Little sound when getting points in the gladiator
  • Juggernaut has changed! Being the juggernaut gives you a shield and the points are no longer doubled.
  • Last man standing is now first to three instead of 10 rounds.
  • Fixed the reset all power that would make you faster if you had the grail.
