We are coming to you again with another feature spotlight for Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur! This week, it is finally time to get to know some of the legendary giants you’ll be doing battle with!
You may have heard the tales of how Camelot ended up in the Astral Dimension, but did you know that, when the kingdom separated itself from Earth in a violent explosion, the forces ripped apart the Void Giant in the process? As the mighty colossus broke into three pieces, it created the giants we know today, each one guarding its own domain.
To reach them and put an end to their terror, you’ll first need to traverse their respective realms and defeat the mini-boss at each level’s mid-point. With these encounters being randomised each run, you’ll never know who or what to expect!
Once you have successfully bested a realm you’ll come face-to-face with its ruling giant, let’s have a look then at the first two that you will encounter on your quest to save the kingdom and its citizens!
Planterra Gigas
You will first encounter the Forest Giant soon after you have been resurrected and, despite all your best efforts, you will be promptly defeated. Reason enough to seek revenge! Hack your way through Brochalant Forest and you will find the gigantic monster waiting for you. Planterra Gigas’ attacks will get more intense with every hit, moving from stomps and punches to violent battle cries that call upon vicious minions . Watch out for signs of its next attack or you’ll get buried underneath a heavy boulder in no time.
Primal Dryland Sloth
Don’t be fooled by its appearance, this gigantic desert sloth is a lot more powerful than you might think, and, on top of that, it’s viciously unpredictable. Its enormous size will cause unimaginable damage to your health as it rolls and jumps towards you. Once you think you’ve learned how to sufficiently avoid these attacks, be aware of any minions sent your way to distract you while it launches projectiles, summons gusts of wind, and envelops your body in destructive tornados!
Now that you know what to expect, it might be time to start practising your sword skills; these giants won’t be defeated easily! So, why don’t you see if you’ve got what it takes and download the Steam demo right now?

Dungeon Features & Non-Recruitable NPCs
Good day, dear knights!
You have now learned of the realms and enemies you will encounter in Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur, but you might still need some help traversing the unpredictable vastness of the Astral Dimension. Today we’ll teach you how to maximise your chances of survival and best use what Camelot's more ‘nomadic’ citizens have to offer to your advantage.
Explore the different areas of the realms as you enter their various dungeon areas. As you clear the dungeon of enemies and progress further through the realm, you will soon encounter some interesting map features, such as the Knight Statues and the Round Tables which grant you upgrades and skills, or the Healing Fountains alongside many interesting inhabitants of Camelot.
Here’s all you need to know about Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur’s non-recruitable characters, and one very special feature which will come in handy before your big battle against the giants!
Morgana – The Witch
Similar to the other non-recruitable NPCs, Morgana is not bound to one realm. She’ll often magically appear just when you need her. Should you come across her camp, she will offer you an almost irresistible deal: Gain a valuable blessing to aid you on your journey, but in return, you must accept a deadly curse! Both blessing and curse are entirely randomised and might be restricted to certain areas or weapons. This could mean that you receive a curse which will only have an effect in the desert area or a blessing limited to Gawain’s sword.
Will you take the risk?
Assam – The Merchant
Need to stock up? Find the travelling merchant Assam in all three areas of the map, and he’ll gladly help you. In exchange for Soul Orbs, he will present his items to you. From potions and vitality boosters restoring and maximising your health to ornaments and pendants increasing attack speed and damage - Assam has the right item in stock for you. Bear in mind that most of his shop items are randomised and while he always carries potions and knight tokens, he must keep up with the ever-changing demand and switches his other stock regularly.
Pan Piper
Find the mysterious Pan Piper if you want to prove yourself worthy - and earn a hefty reward. Like the previous two characters, you can encounter this sinister figure in all three realms waiting for you to attempt his challenge. Should you accept, you must survive a horde of vicious enemies set on keeping victory from you. Survive and you will receive an abundance of Gold and Soul Orbs which will allow you to purchase upgrades and items aiding you on your quest. Although this sounds like an irresistible deal, it might cost you your life, and the Pan Piper somehow does not seem to mind at all ...
Are you ready to face the challenge?
The Holy Fountain
The realms and their inhabitants can be tough on you and deplete your health more rapidly than you’d like. That’s when the Holy Fountains, or healing fountains, come in handy! Approach it and interact with the fountain to regain health when you need it most. A little tip, if you find the fountain early during exploration, save its healing powers for when you need them most, ideally before a boss battle – timing your healing can be critical for your survival!
Now that you are all set to explore the Astral Dimension, why not give our Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur demo a go? Download it now and try out the dungeon mechanics yourself! And, if you want to stay up to date on all things Camelot, join our official Discord server.
See you for the next update, fellow knights. Fare thee well!

Mini Boss Spotlight
Welcome back, knights!
Defeating the Void Giant will be no easy feat! First you will also have to face fearsome guardians who will do anything to protect the three colossal aspects of the Void Giant’s soul from harm (most likely inflicted by your sword...)
Nevertheless, you must restore order in Camelot! Battle your way through the realms to encounter randomly determined mini bosses guarding the portal to the next area.
In a previous post we taught you everything you need to know about the Astral Dimension’s realms and enemies, and today we’ll be introducing you to some of mini bosses you will meet during your quest in Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur!
The Toadstool Monarch
The Toadstool Monarch, has an abundance of attacks up his fungal sleeve. The most royal of mini bosses, will unleash its minions to distract you while leaping toward you spawning an expanding, damaging ring! Just when you think you have almost defeated this king of the forest, he’ll release a spore shoot which will have you running for your life! Have you got what it takes to beat him before the fiery spores and annihilating stomps will bring you to your knees?
The Arcane Monolith
Make sure not to get burned in the Sarrache Desert! The Arcane Monolith won't shy away from using its deadly lasers to chase you around the arena. They are difficult to dodge and will make it particularly tricky for Arthur to strike! Its attacks will get more and more vicious with phase one consisting of a slow-rotating laser which will soon begin shooting from the sky and charge towards the player in a complicated pattern!
The Moltencore Golem
This most gigantic of mini bosses won’t go easy on you. Do not be fooled, brave knight, this glowing rock monster is just as evil as it looks! You won’t have time to catch your breath when the Moltencore Golem directs volcanic explosions and forceful swipes at you. Keep an eye out for its devastating punches, this might be the last mini boss you have to defeat before your ultimate victory, so you don’t want to be failing now!
Don’t worry, these aren’t all the mini boss encounters you will have to face, as depending on how your run goes, and on how many times you will have to be resurrected, you will meet a variety of vicious monsters who will make your run a living hell...
Want to try it out for yourself? Why not play our official Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur demo and prove you’re worthy of your knightly title! And if defeating monsters yourself is not enough for you, or you simply need a word of advice, chat to other knights in our official Discord server.

Shops and NPCs spotlight
Welcome to Camelot!
The once glorious kingdom is your place to recover and rest from your turbulent adventures. Here you will find the citizens you have recruited on your run and returned to their rightful homes. However, they will now need your help restoring their houses and shops after Camelot's destruction. Gather resources and currency on your journey to help the citizens and restore the kingdom before it can be transported back to reality. In exchange, Camelot’s residents will offer to aid you on your quest.
Let’s meet some of the characters you will recruit on your mission to save the kingdom and who will help you return it to its former grandeur!
First and foremost, there’s no building without the builders! Although you might not always speak the same language (quite literally), these little creatures will be eager to help you … as long as you pay them. Recruit them when you find them on your run and approach them on the castle grounds to restore the buildings of Camelot. As you rebuild its ruins, watch your kingdom level rise, and unlock even more updates, buildings, and advancements to your environment as you collect crystals and gold.
Now that the builders are ready to go, you guessed it, it’s time to build! Soon, you will come across more characters on your quests, like the Blacksmith, Trabuchet, the best in his craft. Once you have restored his workshop, he’ll be happy to get to work and, in exchange for a small price, upgrade a sword (or several) of your choice and increase its stats, such as damage, speed, or critical chance. Collect gold and Giant Crystals to unlock even more level upgrades and improve your weapons further!
Camelot wouldn’t be Camelot without its hunter! Find Medea in Brochalant Forest and return her safely to the kingdom. Pop by to have a chat and make sure to restore her hunting base, Willowtail Cabin. She’ll return to work immediately but might rely on your help. Seek her out and she will task you with defeating enemy species and giants alike. In exchange for a successful hunt, you will be sure to receive a hefty reward.
Need to improve your stats and abilities? Unlock kingdom level three and search the desert and volcano realm for Lord Arden, Camelot’s gem merchant, and Tamara, the kingdom’s gem enchanter. The House of Arden and its future competitor Tamara’s Enchantment are now awaiting their much-needed restoration, so Camelot can soon again benefit from their first-class gems. Choose one of seven gems initially - a second slot will unlock upon updating the merchant shop - and increase damage dealt, health, movement speed, or critical damage! Tamara can upgrade your gem of choice and enhance their effects.
Finally, let me introduce you to the most mysterious of the bunch, Sandra. Find the Tarot reader in the forest once you have reached kingdom level four. Rebuild her hut of mysteries and seek its blessings yourself. She will present you with up to ten cards, out of which you can select up to six per run, each granting you a positive or negative effect. Let her magic guide you to victory.
Hmm… there seem to be even more empty buildings waiting for their rightful owners’ return, and who is supposed to restore those knight sculptures? You might want to keep an eye out on your adventures, and who knows, maybe you’ll come across the remaining kingdom folk.

Realms and Enemies Spotlight
Good morrow, brave knight!
Remember the story of how the glorious kingdom of Camelot came to be transported into the Astral Dimension? It’s been a while, so I better refresh your memory, you don’t want to be missing any details when we introduce you to the realms of the Astral Dimension and its pesky inhabitants.
To cut a long story short, in messing around with the Holy Grail, the Knights of the Round Table ripped apart the fabric of time and space and opened a portal to the Astral Dimension releasing the monstrous Void Giant. As a resurrected Arthur, it is now on you to traverse the realms of the Astral Dimension surrounding the kingdom and defeat the enemies and giants occupying them to defeat the mysterious Void Giant once and for all and return Camelot to its rightful place on Earth.
Are you all caught up? Then let’s have a look at the Astral Dimension’s realms and the creatures standing in the way of your victory!
Brochalant Forest
First up, Brochalant Forest! Jump through the portal in the centre of Camelot and you’ll swiftly be transported to the verdant forest area complete with lush trees, bubbling ponds and … heinous woodland creatures. Swarming with nefarious enemies, this first area is not nearly as serene as it may seem. The forest is out to get you!
Watch out and observe your environment or you’ll soon be surrounded by fiends like the enormous Mushler. Don’t get distracted or it will leap toward you in full force spawning a damaging ring upon landing and squashing you with its full might. And just when you think you’ve got it all under control, you will be hit by the flaming stinger of a Stinglead! In a vicious ranged attack, it fires projectiles your way with deadly accuracy!
Sarrache Desert
Congratulations, you have survived the first realm! Unfortunately, the kingdom won’t save itself and there is no time to take a break. Leave the grassy woodland behind and be transported to the Sarrache Desert where even the cacti are trying to strike you down. Traverse this barren wasteland, move past mountains of bones and crush its bothersome inhabitants with your mighty blade.
The desert shows no mercy and neither does the Pincoid. The luminous, sharp-sheared beetle will bind itself to you, never letting you out of sight in its quest to hunt and strike you down. You’ll be stalked on the ground as well as from above! Keep an eye out for the Stombelisk’s rectangular shadow haunting you and tracking your every move, it might come crashing down on you at any moment, so you better move around quickly!
Suidhe Volcano
Did you make it out of the desert without being stomped to dust? Don’t worry, the worst is yet to come. Enter the Suidhe Volcano and try not to get burned. Overflowing with dangerous streams of steaming lava emitting toxic fumes, this last area is the most challenging yet!
Its creatures have adapted to this lethal environment, with some preferring to stay off the ground and causing havoc from above like the Infernix. Charging towards you, it’ll leave behind a trail of fire which is sure to set you aflame. Not even death is a match for these persistent winged creatures. They will lay an egg should they perish in battle and, if you don’t keep an eye on them, they’ll be reborn in no time, ready to challenge you again. Oh, what’s that cute little creature? Don’t be fooled by the Baramander’s adorable face or you’ll soon have to dodge one of their blazing projectiles or avoid their fire trail.
Did the Pincoid and his friends get you and send you back to Castle Camelot? Thanks to Merlin’s magic, you’ll be resurrected in no time and can enter the forest again. In Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur no two runs are ever the same, so try again to beat the Astral Dimension’s foes on a new procedurally generated map, maybe this time you’ll be in luck.
Think you have got what it takes to beat the Brochalant Forest, Sarrache Desert, and Suidhe Forest? Draw your swords and test your skills – the Prologue is available to play now! And if you want to stay up to date on all things Knight vs. Giant and meet your fellow knights, join the Official Discord Server!
Until next time. Fare thee well!

Introducing 'The Knights Of The Round Table'
Welcome back, dear knights!
You have been told of the legendary tale of Camelot, its courageous king and the brave Knights of the Round Table but now it is on you and your broken Excalibur to change Camelot’s fate and return the once dazzling kingdom to its former glory ... with a little help from your loyal friends.
Upon your arrival in Astral Camelot, you will stumble upon statues of the Knights of the Round. Approach them and soon you will discover that although they themselves have perished, their souls and, more importantly, their powers remain within their statues.
The knights will stand with you in death as they did in life and grant you unique powers and skills to defeat the gigantic enemies standing in your way. You will be able to equip the sword of your chosen knight, infuse your broken Excalibur with its power and choose a skill to aid you on your mission before each run.
Upgrades and Unveiling New Knights
While you are initially only able to interact with your knightly companions Lancelot and Bors, you’ll find ways to unlock the statues and powers of all six of your fellow knights. Search for each knight's memento on your adventure and seek out Amethryst, the sculptor, who will help you affix them to its respective statue. As soon as they have been reconstructed, you'll be able to access the knights' powerful skills and swords.
On your missions you may come across the statues of your selected knights. Interact with them after you've cleared an area of enemies to choose a weapon or skill upgrade from three random blessings and become unstoppable.
You have slayed many giants with Lancelot's sword Arondight but can't seem to get the hang of his Thunder Strike skill? Don't fret, young knight, combine skills and weapons from different knights depending on you preferred play style or strategy! There are no limits to your greatness!
The Knights, Their Weapons, and Skills
Choosing the right weapon and skill is an important task for a knight. To help you make the right decisions, we'll be introducing you to four Knights of the Round Table, their weapons, and skills below!
Starting off strong with the great and mighty Lancelot. His is one of the first statues presented to you after your resurrection, and for good reason. His art of swordsmanship is mirrored in his weapon, Arondight, which focusses on balance and caters to all styles of combat. With medium damage and medium speed, this is the perfect starter weapon!
Looking for an electrifying skill to put enemies in their place? Equip the Thunder Strike skill to summon forth the might of thunder and lightning to strike down anyone standing in your way.
Prefer to attack from a distance? Smart choice - so does Bors! With his throwing knife, Galeholt, you can catch your foes off guard from afar. Although it causes less damage than the swords of some of the other Knights of the Round Table, it offers you the advantage of observing and attacking from safety due to its long range.
When necessary, Bors' Slicing Orbits skill allows you to get closer to your enemies while minimising damage. In manipulating the force of gravity, he creates a deadly circle of blades around you.
Find a piece of his armour to unlock the statue of Bedivere, unmatched in strength and greatness. His mighty Sword of Camlann, is yours to claim. Although slow, when used just right, this greatsword will bring about damage like no other.
Combine the power of any sword with Bedivere's Shockwave skill and cause a destructive wave knocking down any enemies set out to harm you!
Seeking a blade as beautiful as it is deadly? Approach Gawain's newly unlocked statue to choose his poison sabre, Galantine. Seemingly harmless on a glance, this venomous weapon has been imbued with poison infecting even the grandest of giants.
Gawain's green thumb doesn't end there, equip his Orchid of Malice skill to grow the most toxic of flowers that will lead any enemy to their demise.
Unveil the two remaining knights to find out all there is to know about them - we don't want to spoil the fun for you here, brave knight! If you want to get a head start and begin practicing with Lancelot and Bors, the Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur - Prologue is available to play now! Also if you enjoy the Prologue please do leave us a Steam review, it helps us a lot!
Get ready to draw your weapon of choice, become invincible and save the kingdom of Camelot!
Fare thee well!

The Story So Far...
Good morrow, courageous knights!
Thou hast fought so bravely and defeated great evil in our demo, it is now time to rest for a moment before you raise your swords once more. Come hither and listen closely, friends, as I tell you the story of Camelot and its terrible fate, of how the Knights of the Round Table rose to defend their kingdom and tragically perished.
The Fate of the Kingdom
Long before tragedy struck, at the beginning of all things, the great Architect took it upon himself to create the world we now call our home. He soon moved this monumental creation – his most magnificent yet – to its own dimension, far away from the Astral Dimension which housed our world as it was built. Shortly after, the Architect sealed the realm with the Holy Grail, the one artefact which would soon bring about the downfall of our legendary kingdom.
Only a few remember the tale of Camelot’s creation today, though many celebrate its rise to fame and glory. Much of this triumph we owe to Merlin, the most powerful wizard in the realm, who, in harnessing a foreign yet potent power, aided our beloved King Arthur’s ascension to the throne. Did you know, dear friends, that Merlin had a hand in the congregation of the Knights of the Round Table? ‘Twas he who entrusted them with the mission to seek the Holy Grail … if only he had known then the cost of their success.
Our fearless knights did as they were told, discovered the Holy Grail, opened a portal to the Astral Dimension and … well, the rest is history.
Perchance you remember the moment disaster struck as the Void Giant emerged. The courageous Knights of the Round rose to protect and defend the kingdom, to protect its people … but to no avail. Our dear king fought bravely but as the nefarious giant tore down our glorious kingdom, he too perished – and earthly Camelot was no more.
With his last remaining powers, Merlin saved our lives, sending us to the Astral Dimension along with what remained of our beauteous home. Some blabbermouths insist his actions were merely accidental … but do not listen to such slander.
Since our arrival in this realm, I heard tales, of not one but three giants roaming this realm. Though, you mustn’t worry about such rumours, dear knights, after all, wise Merlin has found a way to resurrect our king who will save us all.
The Ruins of Camelot
‘Tis what remains of our Camelot for now. It may not be much but do not let your eyes fool you – we shall rebuild what has been destroyed, mayhap you can help us. Return as often as you like, to rest, regain strength or better your weapons.
Prithee, before you head into battle, you must train! Seek our demo and prologue for thy pleasure and practice and share triumphs with your fellow knights on our Discord.
Fare thee well, young knights! We wish you the best of luck on your journey.
