Changelist:

Fixed map error on The Dismal in the notebook. Fixed buig that softlocked the game when attacking certain character in group. Fixed duplicated duck. Visual fixes in the character sheet of the new enemis from the last update. Fixed two empty chests. Whoever had already opened them won't be able to open them again, but their contents weren't important (gold and consumable items). Translation fixes. Visual fixes in the new dungeons.
Thank you for your support and patience.
The gamepad control is here! Big big update (1.0)
Hi there mercebinaries! Today we bring a big update for Kofi Quest, with something widely asked, the gamepad control! Kofi Quest was designed to be played with a mouse and a keyboard, so in order to create a gamepad control that feels natural we decided to rethink the control system a little bit. If you still prefer playing with mouse and keyboard you can keep doing that the same way as before, but keep reading, because there are more surprises.
New content!
This update includes all the content made for the Nintendo Switch version. New dungeons, new items, new enemies and new friendships in a big sidequest that will take you to the different regions of the game unwrapping their deepest secrets.
New languages!
Now you can enjoy all of Kofi Quest's content with texts in Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese.
Besides all of that, you'll see tons of general improvements, performance optimizations and lots of fixes and added details. We hope you'll enjoy them!
Kofi Quest is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 25
Since this game was released on PC in 2020, we have been working hard on it listening to players and improving many aspects to reach the best possible version. Between 2020 and 2021 the game received numerous patches with corrections and improvements, but as some of you know, in parallel we were working on the long-awaited version for Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch version posed quite a few challenges for us, highlighting the optimization to obtain the best performance on the Nintendo console, the controller control, which was especially complicated to design and implement and which went through different phases as a demo for backers of Kickstarter and of course, the inclusion of new content such as dungeons, weapons, mechanics... so that this new version brings out the best in Kofi Quest.
The game that we originally published under the title of “Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD” will be renamed solely “Kofi Quest” when it arrives on Nintendo Switch and will be available from August 25 on the eShop.
In fact, at this point the game is already appearing in the Nintendo eShop, those interested can already add it to their wish list.
All the news of the Switch version will be included in the Steam version through a free patch, but this will not be done immediately, the same day of launch, because we have to do some previous revisions, but we will try to make it available as soon as possible.
As you know, we are working on the Nintendo Switch version, so we have been making changes and improvements to the game for a long time. The idea is to include all of those improvements in one giant patch soon, but in the meantime, we've been able to include some of them in the current version of the game. Including cloud save! We hope you like these fixes.
The changes that are included in the new update:
Important changes
Cloud save.
Fixed various game crashes.
Cinematic improvements and new animations.
Fixes music configuration that inmproves considerably the sound quality.
Improved aim for ranged units. Now they will hit even moving targets. The Bent Bow still have a chance of throwing a bent arrow that will miss its target.
Temporary allies (those who help you only in certain quests)
Added visual indicator if a temporary ally is left behind because you get out of the area where they help you.
Fixed bug that caused some temporary allies to appear duplicated.
Fixed autosave bug that allowed to keep certain temporary allies in areas outside of their assigned quest.
Now temporary allies respawn right after a scene change if they were dead in the previous one (this avoids various bugs).
Minor changes
Fixed orc apprentice shaman's skill effect that wasn't applying correctly.
Fixed bug upon exiting a game during a boss fight and loading another slot.
Fixed bug that set infinite range to Kofi in the final boss battle.
Fixed bug that allowed the use of the horn right before it was used by the cinematic at Paimon's castle.
Fixed bug with Mr. Wisp if BRAT died while using the Will-o'-wisp skill.
Fixed bug that could duplicate Mr. Wisp at certain scenes in the Dismal.
Units can't die anymore if they receive damage while their HP are increasing due to the effect of a curative item.
Removed incorrect "No effect" message when using an item on a character with Spectral body.
Fixed bug that prevented non-controllable allies or enemies' skills from showing their icon and description.
Fixed bug that spawned incorrect units after saving and loading the game at a specific moment in Paimon's castle.
Fixed bug that made units unable to walk around certain trees and made them trip or get stuck while trying to walk through them.
Fixed bug that made certain obstacles in Neighborwood to keep showing at advanced points of the game when they shouldn't be there anymore.
Fixed bug that allowed the player to reach the first switch in the mole's quest without the mole's help.
Fixed Morelia's health the first time you meet her.
Fixed cracker's ranged attack.
Fixed sounds that were cut abruptly in scene changes.
Fixed bug that made Chai alert about an enemy attack while being healed on certain conditions.
Fixed camera limits on scenes with wrong configuration.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD - Update 0.11.3
We're back with a new update (0.11.3). The changes that are included in the new update:
Minor bugs fixed.
Kofi Quest in 2021 - A big update is underway
Hey there! 2020 was a tough year for everyone, but even with some hardships we’ve been able to make great progress in Kofi Quest. We want to mention some of the announcements we’ve made to our backers in Kickstarter over these months. We’re focusing our efforts in the Nintendo Switch version, but all upgrades and changes will apply to the PC version too.
We have a PUBLISHER to release in Nintendo Switch!
We want to let you all know that after several months of meetings and interviews, we’ve finally reached an agreement AND WE NOW HAVE A PUBLISHER that will take care of our game in Nintendo Switch. We’re really excited about it because it’s undoubtedly big news for the project.
The Nintendo Switch Port - What's new?
What’ll be new in the Nintendo Switch version:
The new controller system, which greatly changes the game experience.
New content that will only be playable after the Switch release.
New languages
Many improvements and fixes (including all Steam fixes /patches /updates)
The PC DEMO for the CONTROLLER system (backers only)
Over the past few months we’ve been hard at work improving the game to adapt it to Nintendo Switch, both in functionality and in performance. In December we published an exclusive demo for backers on Kickstarter that allows you to play with a controller to test our new system, going through some maps and allowing you to play with 7 different characters, as well as use some items and fight against enemies. Having released this demo is helping us to make the controller system even better (which will also be usable here on Steam when available).
Kofi Quest will be available with text in Chinese and Portuguese
Our game will include new languages, since they’ll be available since the launch of the Nintendo Switch version (at which point there will be a PC patch including the same new stuff). The game will include texts in Chinese and Portuguese. Unfortunately, we can’t include all the languages we’d like because our game is over 85,000 words, and due to that extensive script translating this content is hard work (and an elevated cost). But even so, we will continue to try to include texts in new text languages in the future.
The next Steam Update?
Right now it is difficult for us to continue uploading updates in the Steam version at the same time that we focus on the Switch version because there is a lot of risk of losing control.
So the game is launched on Switch we’ll release a big update on PC where you’ll get all the new stuff, such as the extra content, the controller support, new languages and many fixes and changes.
Best! ːsteamhappyː

Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD - Update 0.11.0
We're back with a new update (0.11.0). The changes that are included in the new update:
Quick Travel reimagined
We’ve implemented a completely renewed Quick Travel system. Instead of having to go to a Save Point in order to travel to one of the few destination points, it’s now possible to travel from anywhere to any of the Save Points that you have already visited (unless it’s impossible to get there for narrative reasons).
From now on, to quick travel you just have to open your map from the Pause menu or from the quick access in the lower right corner (M key) and select the save point to which you want to travel.
You will now keep the summoned units when quick travelling (unless you’re going back to the shelter).
Hovering over any floppy disk on the map will show the name of the place where it is located.
To help understand the interconnection between the different maps in the game, you can now use the arrows at the start and end of the maps to open previous or next maps.
Transport characters
Throughout the adventure you will have found characters who offer to take you to different points on the map, to make it compatible with the new Quick Travel system, we have relocated some of them to allow you to take some shortcuts where Quick Travel doesn’t reach.
Instead of offering you a list of destinations, you can see icons on the map so there is no doubt about the exact place you’ll be traveling to.
Between the Fast Travel and these friendly characters, no corner of the game shall remain unexplored.
Recover motivation
At different moments in the story, there are cinematics that force some of your allies to disappear (because the situation requires it). When this happens Kofi will be given back the motivation points that cost to call them.
If you make a Quick Travel to the shelter, where your units return to their usual tasks, you will also recover the corresponding motivation.
Losing motivation
At certain points in the game, there are characters that will help you temporarily and eventually become part of your army. During this temporary situation, these characters will reappear over and over again, without any cost of motivation. To balance this situation, from now on you will lose some motivation points when one of these temporary allies dies.
New Upgrade for the wallet
Since the launch of the game, many players have asked us about a wallet upgrade, which until now could only reach 999 coins. Finally, we have added the possibility of obtaining a superior wallet, with a capacity of 3,000 coins. How do you get the new wallet to access new wealth? Well rubbing shoulders with the right people, of course.
New Pro Weapons (Giant Sword, Dagger of the flame, Bow of the driven snow)
The new wallet will give you access to some of the weapons in Grung's shop that were previously impossible to buy. These weapons had a merely narrative function (indeed, they were designed so that they could not be purchased). To avoid confusion, we have had to remove some of these items but we have programmed the rest so that you can buy and use them.
I won’t miss! (Elfa, right before missing a shot)
We’ve already made corrections in the past to the aim of ranged units, this time we’ve fixed certain problems that ranged units had when shooting at moving targets.
Magical ice creams!
Summer arrives and with it the ice creams that keep us cool and with high HP. They say that there is a magical ice cream guy that goes around the world with his magical cart full of (magical) ice creams. If you meet a character with an ice cream in their hands, you are in luck. Talk to him so he can tell you where he last saw the ice cream guy. (Hint: don't use Quick Travel to find him, it's not really that fast and the ice cream guy will have plenty of time to go somewhere else.)
Other fixes:
Adjusted some character stats (allies and enemies)
Adjusted amount of gold in some chests and the gold that shopkeepers offer you for some items
Kofi's face finally appears on maps when he is inside a cave or house
After a Game Over or Mission Failed, you will get a small Motivation bonus if you were low on it.
Corchel's quest can be completed at any point throughout the adventure (previously you could only complete it for a period of time within the adventure)
Kofi tries to put himself in a visually favorable position when talking to an NPC
