Greetings! Those of you who have been following Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD since launch will know that we’ve been constantly working on upgrades and fixes. There have been over 20 updates since the game was launched about a month and a half ago, but on this occasion we’re presenting an update that’s quite more interesting.
We’re accepting your opinions to keep Kofi Quest constantly improving. You’re helping us a lot from our Discord server, and thanks to you the game is more solid and complete with each update.
Patch Notes of version 0.10.0
Important changes
New Tactical Mode. If you activate the tactical mode, you’ll be able to command your army while the combat flows in slow motion. This option has been among the most requested by players. Press the Space button to toggle the tactical mode.

There’s been a revamp to the troop movement and formation system. Units will fill the space differently, aiding the movement of bigger groups.
Leader characters (like Kofi and Chai) cannot be pushed by other allies, reducing the possibility of them falling over edges.
New access keys next to the monitor. There are now shortcuts to the equipment window, the inventory organizer and the maps window. Moreover, new hotkeys have been added for these shortcuts: M - Opens the maps window J - Opens the inventory organizer K - Opens the equipment window L - Focuses camera on Chai’s flag
Now you can see the full stats of the equipped weapons, which makes it easier to compare weapons that are equipped with those in the inventory.
Bug fixes
Issues with the Achievement system.
Artillery towers (bombs). Fixed bugs related to the control of towers by the Orc Engineer.
Fixed some visual issues related to water shores and bridges when they break or go up or down.
Fixed issue that showed in empty shop slots in some situations.
Revised some numerical values related to prices in some shops.
Fixed a number of minor bugs and made small performance upgrades.
We still want to keep improving the game, so we will keep making frequent updates with their corresponding Patch Notes.
If you want to join our community and report issues you find or share suggestions, please join our Kofi Quest Discord server. You’re more than welcome :)
We’re keeping at it!

Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD has been updated
We're back with a new update (0.9.23). After the previous fixes that we've been publishing since launch, we added some new and interesting ones. The changes that are included in the new update:
Improved the route calculation of the flying units so they don't fall down pits too often.
Fixed bug that caused shooters to hit their allies too often.
Stability improvements.
Bug fixes.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is now available on Steam!
After more than 4 years of work, finally, the first version of Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is available on Steam. We encourage you to try our humble game, that we’ve made with endless care and being a small team of five people.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is a not-so-serious adventure that brings together mechanics from Action RPG and RTS games. You’ll control Kofi, a weak, lazy and unlucky video game character that will be followed by a group of interesting (and pathetic) characters aiding him to live a great adventure.

This project started back in 2015, and comes from the animated episodes of Kofi, which we started in 2014 and which you can watch on YouTube for free. If you’re interested in the world of Kofi, be advised that the events in the video game take place after the animated webseries.
What does this game offer?
RTS troop control. Real-time group management. Control your own army.
Captains with special skills.
Find or buy weapons and equipment that allows you to improve your characters; multiple enemies with different qualities: find the best strategy to win.
An adventure full of humor and exciting all the same that talks about a beginner adventurer’s road to self-improvement, and the importance of teamwork. With loads of surreal situations and unforgettable characters.
Explore a big map with different environments (forests, houses, caves, mountains, water areas…). Find chests with unique weapons, funny side quests or simply discover new details about Kofi's world through characters’ stories or written texts.
More than 60 different enemies.
Interaction with characters or elements of the stage. Many of the elements of the stage can be selected or destroyed (bushes, rocks…).
Fully functional game console. You can get some retro games to play if you can find them at sidequests.
Thousands of voiced lines for each language (English and Spanish).
Important! Please, help us make Kofi Quest known so it can become a better game.
We’re a small team. We don’t work with a publishing company, we publish our game completely independently with the only support of the players. We’ve needed many years to build the Kofi universe and we’ll still be here to improve it and fix any problems you may encounter.
Please, if you find any kind of issue with the game, don’t hesitate to contact us. You have our word that we care and we’ll get to it. For us, the most important thing is that everyone has a good experience and that you all enjoy the Kofi universe.
If you liked the game, and you can help us spread the word about our work, we’ll be very grateful.
Thank you all for your patience and support! Without you, this wouldn’t have been possible.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD will hit Steam the 28th of January
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD will finally be available on Steam the 28th of January 2020 at 12:00am PST (UTC-8) for Windows systems. We’re really excited about it. Please, add the game to your Steam wishlist to stay in the loop!
Interesting things about the launch that should be kept in mind
Even though the official launch date is January 28th, some of the Kickstarter backers (pre-launch access backers) are playing right now. We’re really excited to have people finally playing it.
The most important part is to make it known that we intend to keep on working on the game, so although we hope you really enjoy the experience we’ve been preparing for you for years, we also want to make it clear that we’ll keep on fixing possible errors and improving the game experience even after launch.
See you very soon!
Kofi might become the cover of GTM (Vote in the poll below)
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD might become the cover of the Spanish magazine GTM, but for that to happen we need to win in this Twitter poll. We hope we can count on your support! It’s a one-time opportunity for Kofi Quest and, besides, the magazine model that the team at Games Tribune showed looks amazing! We’d be incredibly glad if it became a reality.
Thank you very much for your support! Whatever the result, we’re really happy we were given this amazing opportunity :)
We keep on working.

Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD - Final calendar
What’s up? In Loftur Studio we’re still working tirelessly in the development of Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD. The past few months have been a great opportunity to improve the product a great deal, as well as to lay the foundations for our future plans of launching the game for Nintendo Switch.
Important! Development updates 2019
Optimization. We’ve made the preliminary revisions aimed at the future port to Nintendo Switch, such as a first layer of optimization (pretty important), necessary changes in the internal structure of the game and first steps in controller handling (keep in mind that this game was originally designed to be played with a keyboard and mouse, so there’s work to be done, and we want to do it right).
Kickstarter stretch goals. As promised in the stretch goals, we’ve developed new minigames and, in addition, we’ve worked in the secret combat units. On top of the playable characters you’ll be able to find in the main story, there will be some secret, optional ones, and they will all have their own unique narrative context.
Important improvements in the game experience. Thanks to the Kickstarter backers giving us more development time, we’ve taken the opportunity to implement new features that improve the game experience, taking on some design parts that could be improved from another angle and polishing content. For some necessary improvements we’ve rewrite important segments of the code from scratch. We've invested time, but we're now more solid and really excited about the results.
Bug correction. As we always say, there’s very few of us in the team and it’s hard to control such a big project. The bug correction is a constant fight and we’ve made incredible progress in it, although it’ll remain something we keep working on before, during and after launch.
The final calendar
At this point, we’re going to present our final plan for development and launch. With all the changes this project has been through and how much it’s evolved along its several years of development, we’ve discussed what’d be the launch period where we can guarantee the 1.0 version that we want to offer you. We also have to prepare a better advertising campaign for all those press professionals who want to give our game a try.
Therefore, the final calendar will be as follows:
After many twists and turns and improvements, we’re finally satisfied with the result and ready to stop lengthening the project, but we need more time to finish and review all the changes done over this year with all the guarantees.
We also want to prepare some good press materials. After the Kickstarter campaign, we had several conversations with publishers interested in the game, and that meant changes in schedule and content, but we eventually reached no agreements and have decided to go independently.
The next 28th of November we’ll publish a backers-only update with some gameplay footage. In other platforms, we’ll publish more news in December.
We keep working.
Cheers,
Loftur Studio Team
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD has been 140% funded through Kickstarter
After a little over 30 days of campaign, Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD has been 140% funded. We have no words to express our gratitude for all the support. We want to thank those who already knew Kofi and of course also all those new backers that have met our project through Kickstarter and have decided to bet on us.
We’re utterly exhausted after giving it our all with this campaign, but we’re also feeling really good seeing how the Kofi community grows and feeling that we’re still going to get more support in what’s left of development.
A new stage begins for Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD and it’s all thanks to you!
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD got an award for Best UPC Game at the 3 Head Monkey Awards UPC 2019
On May 24, Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD was awarded its third prize: Best UPC Game at the 3 Head Monkey Awards UPC 2019. The jury was comprised of publishing and media professionals who had time to play all the selected games in exclusive.
We want to thank the jury for this award, and all the players who support us every day to keep working and making our game better.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is 100% funded on Kickstarter and there’s still 9 days left
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD has been funded! From Loftur Studio we want to sincerely thank all the backers that have made this possible. When we decided to start the Kickstarter campaign we put our every effort towards showing the world the best of Kofi and his partners, but we didn’t know what was going to happen.
It really is incredible that we can write this update in which we tell you that Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD will become a reality in both Steam and Nintendo Switch.
But wait, there’s more! There are still 9 days of campaign left and we want to take Kofi even further. We’ve prepared a list of Stretch Goals that can bring more and better content to the game. Please, do check the list in our campaign page!
Thanks to all the backers that are supporting this project and to all of you helping spread the word so more people knows about it.
