Patch v1.0.8 You can keybind Game Controllers now

Hello everyone,

A couple of small changes.

Players can now keybind their controller. I had the code from the Xbox port and was meaning to add this to the PC version. In settings, you can now customize your controller keybinds.

When you are using your game controller you will see the icons change and you can go into settings with your controller to change the keybindings (note the game looks for an active controller, so if you don't have one you cant change them). It'll make sense when you mess with it.

A couple of other small changes.

-The blue dot for the sight on the stun gun would smudge when moving if motion blur was on, now it remains clear.
-I fixed a really minor bug on Krampus during the final boss fight where his laser eye attack would sometimes not show the warning laser before firing.

Patch v 1.0.7 Health Regen

Hello everyone,

I have noticed in several youtube videos that players would get down to low health and then get in a situation where they just went through a checkpoint but now have to fight a bunch of enemies and they have no health items.

So I have decided to add a modern health regen when health is under 50%. *
*The health items will still be needed to get back to full health.


  • When health is low, health will automatically regenerate to 50% after 5 seconds (10 seconds on Nightmare Difficulty).

Fixing a few small bugs that have been reported.

-Fixed a bug where the keypad in the hospital could be loaded from a checkpoint to be "stuck" locked.
-Fixed a bug with the snowglobe achievement not working sometimes.
-Fixed a bug with the "Nice List" achievement not working sometimes.

Patch 1.0.5 Fix Achievement Cache Problem

Hello everyone,

As some have noted, there have been some issues with achievements unlocking properly.
This seems to be from a cache problem on Steam side.

I have coded a workaround that checks for the achievements in the main menu (and after every load screen). If you are having issues with an achievement, try to unlock the achievement you are missing again and it should unlock now after a load screen (ie a map change or returning to the main menu).



Winter Sale! Update v 1.0.3 - New Survival Map and more

Hello, all you naughty kids out there!

With Christmas right around the corner, Krampus will be entering the Steam winter sale starting December 22 through Jan 5th with 25% off!

The v 1.0.3 patch includes the following:

Fans of the Early Access will remember the House in the original survival mode, it has been added back into the game! Players can play the Underworld arena or the House arena in Survival Mode.

A bug where Krampus could grab you though the elevator in the hospital basement has been fixed.

The "Maze" achievement has been fixed. It wasn't triggering right before, now all you have to do is enter the maze in Oak Park and the achievement should work.

v1.0.2 Week One Update

Hello everyone!

Krampus Kills is off to a good start. Your feedback has been great and seeing the massive number of youtube videos come out featuring the game content is awesome!

This update patches a few small bugs / changes:

-An error when you beat the game, the ending screen text would say "Naughty", not "Nightmare" if you were in fact on the Nightmare difficulty. This was confusing players.
-A save point outside the Hospital which was missing, has been put back in (on the park bench).
-In CastleKrampus when you fight the giant skeleton on the bridge, a candy cane wall now comes up behind you. This small change was done because I felt that that encounter was not dangerous enough, as players could backtrack onto the bridge and outrun the giant.

I would also like to say we have some new leaderboard leaders!!

Krampus Kills leaves Early Access!


Summary



It has been a long year of development, and I want to give a special thank you to the community and those active on discord for your input and thoughts.

Krampus Kills is now officially released, not only on Steam but on the Xbox Series X/S as well.



What we have built over the past year:

Content added in Early Access includes CastleKrampus and Hell level.

New weapons such as the Incinerator flame thrower.

New enemies such as the Giant Skeleton, Gatekeeper, and exploding Elves.

A secret ending with a secret final boss.



New game modes


Hide and Seek.
A mode where players can run around the forest unarmed and have to hide from Krampus in a game of cat and mouse.

Survival Mode.
A horde mode where players have to survive as long as they can in Hell.

Nightmare Mode.
A special difficulty is unlocked after beating the game. Nightmare mode was designed to be one of the hardest difficulties in all of gaming.

Thank you all, this was a fun one to work on.

Update v0.64 Final Early Access Update!

Hello, all you wintery horror fans!

Yes, you read that title correctly, Krampus Kills will be coming out of Early Access on December 2nd 2022!!

Changes in this patch:



You can now aim the double barrel and quad barrel shotgun down the sight.



Other



The dash upgrade has been replaced with a double jump.
I felt that the dash was not in tone with the rest of the game.

The dynamic difficulty has been dropped as a stand-alone difficulty setting and integrated into the easy, normal, and hard difficulty settings.

The end game ranking has been slightly adjusted:
S Rank.....................<30 minutes
A Rank.....................<35 minutes
B Rank.....................<45 minutes
C Rank.....................<90 minutes

Patch V0.63

The following changes have been made:

-Bug in the hospital nav mesh where Krampus couldn't cross the first hallway.
-Improved Optimization framerate
-Fixed a few enemies spawns, in the Hospital the Zombie can't attack you in the cutscene now.

Update v.62 - New Enemy, & New Ability

Hi everyone,

This update has got some cool stuff.

New enemy: The Kamikaze Hell Elf, a blue elf that runs at you and explodes.

New ability: Players now get an "upgrade" by finding a green candy cane, the sugar rush upgrade allows players to run faster and double jump.

The decision to add this upgrade was made because the second half of the game is more action-oriented. I also felt speed runners could have some fun with it.
