Lakeview Cabin 2

Cooperation patch!

Hey there, long time no see!

Here's a patch to fix some things that have plagued the split-screen experience!

I was meaning to make an arena mode for the game, but I had to admit to myself that my heart was just not into it... I've worked on it for the whole beginning of the year, but was not able to find an angle that would satisfy me creatively. So in order to once again to keep my mental health in check, I'm going to be working on something entirely different next.

ANYWAY! Here's a list of changes! Most are for those who play with a friend, but I did manage to get some single player fixes in there too :)

- Roope

v1.02

Hub:

- Fixed the portal animation not appearing in the right place when used by player 2

Lakeview Cabin 1:

- Added some blood in the water when you shoot at the party at certain situations

Episode 1:

- Fixed the note items not appearing for player 2
- Fixed the attic cameras for player 2
- Added a camera system for the remote controlled plane when used by player 2
- Fixed the player 2 camera sometimes showing the enemy cabin when going through doors

Episode 2:

- The ghosts should now leave the dead player characters, if they were circling them before death
- Fixed the episode appearing un-completed in the hub

Episode 4:

- Added a variation to the ending if you’ve beaten the other three episodes
- Player 2 should now be able to use the turret
- The crowds will now throw their toilet paper at player 2 also
- Made the map show up only for the player that is using it in coop
- Fixed some issues with player 2 using the trucks replicator
- Fixed the fiend alert staying on after restart
- Fixed the crowd still being horrified after restart
- Frank should no longer appear after being killed
- Fixed the player 2 camera differing from player 1’s (I feel like I fixed this once but it was still there, let me know if it’s still wrong)
- Tried a fix for the looping dead-end you might end up when inside houses, I wasn’t able to reproduce it anymore but can’t say for sure since it is kinda rare.

Back at work!

Hey hey hey I'm back! It's now November, the Halloween sale went well, but at the lake the spooky month never ends!

Got the Unity subscription issue worked out, and here's a little patch to ease myself back into the groove of things. Next weeks patch will contain a lot more fixes!

Anyway, here is a small list of changes! (btw I'm so happy to finally use a version number that starts with a 1...)

v1.01

All Episodes:

- Tried some optimisation, the game runs a little better inside the editor at least
- Fixed some problems with the achievements not unlocking
- You now need to press P to enable input for cheats, some players were activating them by accident before

Episode 1:

- Tweaked the slope in the well a little so the slower enemies might have a better chance of getting out of there
- Made the chainsaw send out the same event as the axe, so it should chop the wood now

Halloween Sale!

It's that time of the season! Enjoy a discount and have a spooooooky weekend! It might be your last...
chance to get the game as cheap as this!

It was always the plan to increase the price once the game releases out of Early Access. Buuuut you know your boy is an idiot, and didn't realise that you can't participate in the Steam sales for 30 days after you do that...

But I didn't want to miss out on giving a good deal for everyone who might want to play a new horror game this weekend, so take full advantage of my stupidity and buy it now!

I'm making a bad business decision, just to make sure you won't go broke this month! It's FREE REAL ESTATE!

So yeah, I'm increasing the price to the 15 dollar range after the Halloween Sale is over. I think it is a much more fair price for the amount of game you get. I feel like the lower price might even make people view it as a lot smaller game than it actually is. What do you think?

Anyway, have scary weekend! I hope you have a bloody good time!

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who has been playing Lakeview Canin 2!
The reviews and sales have been great, not as high as one might hope but more than enough for a solo-developer to keep continuing! So I am super grateful already, and the game will have a little discount when the Halloween sale starts this week! So that is very good!

Now the bad news. Some of you may know that I have a wife and two kids. I’m the sole provider for a family of four. So as you can guess, that is where my money goes. And now that my development cycles take some time, the earnings have been smaller and smaller each month. And everything seems to grow more expensive every month.

So long story short: I’m honestly broke. I’m not able to pay my Unity subscription for this month, so currently that is on hold because what I have left needs to go to feed my family and to keep a roof over our heads. And I’m okay with that, when you live with depression, you rarely feel like you deserve anything anyway.

But the reason I’m telling this is to explain why I cant patch the game for a week at least. If stars align (which they never do if you ask me) I might get my subscription back before the weekend. I’m also super excited about the fact that they are raising the prices next year, he said with a hint of sarcasm.

So I hope you all understand why some of the bugs reported after the release haven’t yet been patched. I’ll be back with an update as soon as I can.

In the meantime, if you like the game;
Please share it! And write a review! Contact your local lawmaker to make buying it mandatory!

IT IS HERE

Lakeview Cabin 2 is finally coming out of Early Access!

Three years of development. Phew. I'm honestly lost for words. This doesn't mean that I'm going to stop working on the game, there's still stuff I want to do. But every piece of content that I wanted there to be upon release, is now in the game. So why wait around, I don't want to be one of the developers who get stuck in Early Access limbo...

Also, I was thinking of increasing the price, since the game is definitely on the cheaper side. But in all honesty, don't you just hate how everything has gone up in price lately? So maybe I can bring some respite into this situation, by staying with the lower price tag. Or maybe I'm shooting myself in the foot, who knows... Throw me a nickel when you see me homeless on the street.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm so grateful to everyone who has supported me and my games through the years. I know I have my shortcomings, as the many patches that broke the game has shown. But damn if this isn't what I was meant to do, so thank you for allowing me to live this life!

I promise to make it up to you!

Thank you!
