[previewyoutube="w_hl7LMVPvw;full"]

Lakeview Valley Beta is now on Steam!

Hey, I moved the Lakeview Valley Beta testing to Steam so players can have automatic updates! I have about fifty keys left that I'm giving away on my Twitter and on Discord for anyone who asks.

So get in touch while there's still keys left!

Have a nice day!

Lakeview Valley Beta

Hello everyone!

Some of you may know, that for the last 16 months or so, I've been working on Lakeview Valley, a RPG that is basically a serial-killer simulator set in the Lakeview-universe. The release is getting closer and I'm trying to get more eyes on the game before that happens.

These last few months the users on the Lakeview Discord have been able to play the early build of Lakeview Valley, to try it out and help me find issues. Things have been going pretty smoothly and the game is shaping up very nicely.

Just this last week I hit an important milestone and the game is now playable from start to finish. So if you want to try it out, now is a great time!

Here is our Discord where you can find the links to the early builds of Lakeview Valley.

Here is the store page for Lakeview Valley, wishlisting it helps a solo developer like me immensely!

If you don't want to join the Discord, (which would be really nice so you can be in direct contact with me for any issues but I understand if you don't) you might be able to just Google the link to the game... It's pretty openly on another gaming platform. Wink wink wink! (I don't want to share the link directly here since I wish I'm able to get some constructive feedback from players.)

Now what else... Maybe some personal news since you read all the way down here. I've been doing relatively fine myself. It has been pretty stressful, trying to ship a new game. Had to double my anxiety meds to be able to function, but that's a small price to pay for some mental health during these turbulent times. At least I'm not crying all the time now so I can see the screen when creating my games. (Don't let that last part fool you, I'm still a badass) Anyway...

How are YOU doing?

Best wishes,
Roope

Lakeview Valley

Hello everyone! I've been working on a spiritual successor to Lakeview Cabin
and it's finally time to announce it properly:

LAKEVIEW VALLEY

So, what exactly is Lakeview Valley?
The game is very much like a traditional RPG. Create your own character, customise your home, go fishing, help the villagers to gain popularity.

Except the voice inside a tree is offering you enticing upgrades... If you kill someone...

What will you do? Become the toast of the town or succumb to your dark desires? The choice will be yours.

PS: I'd greatly appreciate if YOU could add the game to your wishlist. It helps a lot a solo developer like me! <3

Christmas comes to Lakeview Cabin!

Seasonal greetings!

As a little surprise to all the fans, I've added a new "Minisode" to the game called Last Christmas! You can access it at the new rental shop "Killer Videos", after you've beaten at least one episode in the theater (or typed in the secret code that most fans might know :smilingred:)

And this of course also means that now there's a way for me to add new non-canon minisodes in 2018 if I get inspired!

Development on my roguelike Scumquest is also coming along nicely, I wanted to release an announcement trailer for it today but decided to focus solely on LvC this month. We'll see if I can get a proper announcement done in January.

I hope you all have lovely holidays, I'm planning on getting extremely fat while fixing all the bugs that this update probably adds. :tormentedred:

Thank you!

Join the Lakeview Cabin Collection Discord!

The community has started a Discord server for Lakeview Cabin and you should join the discussion:

I'll be there always to answer any questions regarding LvC. Or regarding anything, I have no shame.
You might even get a sneak peek of my new game in the near future!

Trading cards and other news!

Back from the dead like a murdered wife!

I finally got trading cards, emoticons and backgrounds done for Lakeview Cabin. :smilingred: I know I'm probably too late with them, but I feel like I needed to get them done to get out of this rut. The seasonal depression hit a bit harder this year and because of it I haven't been very active on the forums (or anywhere for that matter). Sorry for that.
But I haven't been exactly just sitting on my ass though, since I've been working on a new game. It's a survival roguelike that shares a lot of gameplay themes with Lakeview Cabin. It's very adult oriented and violent, but with a lot deeper mechanics than what LvC has. There's also a co-op mode so you know I'm learning from my mistakes. I hope you're all going to like it when I'm able to post more news about it, which shouldn't take too long (which probably isn't very convincing considering how long it took me to get some cards done. :tormentedred:)

What else... Oh yeah I'm moving my work computer out of the bedroom and getting a small office! So what I'm hoping will happen is that I'll be able to get A LOT more work done on LvC and the new roguelike. I'll have tighter hours to work instead of jumping between being a developer and being a dad every 10 minutes and losing my train of thought everytime somebody shits their pants in the other room.

That's it for now. Thanks to everyone still interested enough to read this far and I'll try to be more active on the forums. I've also opened my DMs on Twitter (@Hypnohustler) so feel free to compliment/insult me there if that's your thing.

May 30th small patch

Hub
-Added sound effects to the last two doors in the theater

Episode 3
-Fixed some small performance problems in Ep3
-Fixed the zipline sometimes duplicating the player sprites
-Throwing the cube into the lake when using it (advanced players know what I'm talking about) doesn't lock the game anymore

Episode 5
-The pilgrim woman no longer appears like she's carrying the dead fetus after you've done what needs to be done.

Epilogue
-Fixed the "axe to the lake" problem

All episodes are now released!

The day is finally here!
Lakeview Cabin 6 officially exits the beta-phase with a small epilogue chapter accompanying it for the most eager players. That means that all of the episodes are out and the game can now truly be called a Collection. Huge thanks to everyone who has played the game and kept me motivated for the past year. You all rock! :)

About the future: I have a little project simmering that I can't wait to show you all. I'm also of course going to keep supporting Lakeview Cabin with fixes and patches so the work is still far from done. Let me know if something seems out of place or not working.

I think that's all for now. Thank you!
