LEGO Worlds

Performance Patch - Now Live

Hi all,

We have released a performance patch to solve the Frame Rate issues found in DX11 builds. You should now see improved performance across the game. We will continue to look at improving it further in future updates as well going forwards.

Please continue to share any issues you have in our Bug Reporting forum, as our QA team are diligently reading through them to make sure we're aware of everything.

And those players who were missing the Early Access item (the Tt Games cap) and Soundtrack should also now see it appearing correctly (this applies to anyone who bought the game during the E3 BOGO deal). If it is still missing from your games install directory, then please let me know in this thread and I will investigate further:

ARE. YOU. READY!!!!

Thank You

Hello!

Well here we go then, the final Weekend before LEGO Worlds leaves Early Access. It feels like a lifetime ago since the first images of a certain Instruction Manual began to circulate on a LEGO fansite (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/109880-what-is-lego-worlds/) and then we revealed the game fully with this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67S7EaksC3E

We want to thank you for every note, post and comment detailing feedback on how we can look to improve the game. Whilst leaving Early Access is indeed a large step forwards, we want to also assure you that this does not mean that will stop. We will still be around the forums, screenshots, videos, artwork and Streams, absorbing everything we can and adding to the large list of ideas that has only continued to grow over time.

And now we’re less than 5 days from releasing our V1! We have had what can only be described as an incredibly fun time with you all, and have loved every second of interacting with you all as we have shared ideas ranging from the brilliant, to the wacky, and everything in between. We’ve loved how our community members have taken initiatives on their own to collate models, share LDD palettes, and dive into Build challenges with aplomb. The creations we have seen, and the ways that players have used the tools at hand have continued to surprise us to this day.

We also want to thank you for sharing with us what has been an entirely new experience for almost all of us. We’ve never really had the chance to reach out and interact with fans of our games so readily before, and it has been a rewarding experience for us as a group, and for myself personally, and we have come to know a few of you over time and shared many conversations about what you plan to design/build next.

As our time in Early Access comes to a close, we want to share that journey with you one last time. The previous FIVE releases of LEGO Worlds within Early Access are now available to play on Beta tabs. Please, please, please ensure that all Save Data is backed up (we suggest you follow the instructions here to ensure you’re old saves are prepped for V1: http://steamcommunity.com/app/332310/discussions/0/152392549355088408/).

With that, we look forward to sharing what comes next in the not too distant future.

As always, speak soon!

LEGO® Worlds - Release Date & Early Access Rewards

Hi all,

As you already know, LEGO® Worlds is leaving Early Access really soon, and we plan on using the lead up to release to take a little trip down memory lane as we prepare for that highly anticipated v1.0! As such keep your eyes peeled for news on us re-releasing older versions of the game, so we can look at how far we’ve come since day one!

This will lead up to our release date nicely. A date that we can now confirm as March 7th! Now I know, I said February, but as you will also know, we don’t release something unless we’re happy with it. And until this week, we weren’t happy with a few things that were keeping us from entering Certification. However, with many late nights for our dev team, we're now happy to move ahead and make sure that the release is up to the standard our Early Access players, and ourselves, expect it to be.

Speaking of our Early Access players. I promised you a little something as a token thank you for your support during what has been an incredible experience for us. So with that in-mind I can share that all Early Access players will be receiving an unique in-game hat for the character customiser, and also be receiving the LEGO® Worlds Soundtrack at no extra charge.

We’ll try to keep in touch as much as possible the next few weeks and answer any question we can leading up to release, but bear with us if we don’t respond straight away, as you can probably imagine, it’s a little busy right here at the moment (I’m typing this at 23:45 UK Time for example).

LEGO Worlds will be leaving Early Access in February 2017

Hi all,

As you may now be seeing from the news spreading around, LEGO® Worlds is leaving Early Access in February next year and coming to console as well.

We wanted to share our thanks to you all for helping us during our first ever attempt at not only Early Access, but at doing something that is outside the realms of our normal game design. It has been a project that our team has been excited about since Day 1, and we remain committed to ensuring it’s the best it can be. Mostly though, we want to say thank you to the players that have been contributing suggestions, bug reports, discussions on design choices and of course, an immense amount of fantastic builds to showcase and share with our community and the world at large!

Also, we want to let you know that all Early Access players will be receiving a little something from us on Launch day too.

We will also continue to explore ways we can benefit our Steam players in ways that the platform allows/supports.

So what does leaving Early Access mean to you, us and everyone else then? Ironically, from our perspective, it doesn’t really change all that much in terms of our planning ahead. We have a wall of ideas that we still want to add. But having been in Early Access for over 18 months, we feel it’s the right time. If you’ve been keeping tabs on us through our latest community video, you know the team has been hard at work behind the scenes with some fantastic game updates and we have some amazing things planned for February launch.

For you, it means you know that we’ve reached a point where we can confidently say this title is ready for launch. You’ll also be pleased to hear that we plan to continue to support Worlds for the foreseeable future with a host of regular updates planned throughout the year which will introduce more of your highly requested features, as well as our own!

We look forward to seeing what you can create! Be sure to keep an eye out for our Developer Diaries on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/legoworldsgame) and Tumblr page (http://legoworldsgame.tumblr.com/).

Anyway, speak soon, there’s much to do!

Many thanks,

15... Developer Diary with John Hodskinson

Hi all,

As you've been very, very patient with our countdown, we thought it best to share with you some news on what we've actually been working on these past few months. We're still a long way from actually releasing an update, but stay tuned to the countdown for some pretty major news.

But enough from me; here's more of me....oh yes, and our GAME DIRECTOR talking about the work that has gone into the game over the course of the past 4 months that haven't been shown before:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgiHXZ77PAM

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

We're so kind here at TT that we also decided to break down the development of how the towns (and by proxy the Dungeons) are made! Read Derek's developer diary here for more:

Well, that's that! Stay Tuned for more news, and see what exactly that countdown is leading too!

Thanks,
Chris

Build Challenge - "Free Build - The Sequel"!

Hi all!

It’s time for a new Building Challenge. For those of you who are new to LEGO® Worlds, we issue a task to our community, and see if you're able to build something to be submitted by a certain deadline for judging. Our favourites are showcased across our various social media accounts and if we really like the model, we’ll put it in the game!

This time, we’re giving everyone another completely Free-Build challenge. That means that you can build whatever you want, so long as it sticks to the rules defined below. With the inclusion of Online Multiplayer, we’ll also be keen to see how people come together and build with friends! So entries from multiple people are accepted and encouraged, don’t forget to ask for help if you need it! Also, we are setting no size limits.

To share your creation with the community you should do the following:
Head on down to creative corner, and begin a thread with the title ‘Free Build Challenge – MODEL NAME HERE’. Provide us with a collection of screenshots of your model in-game and we’ll take a look.
Creative Corner can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/332310/discussions/5/

Criteria
• The challenge will run from Friday 7th October until Sunday 23rd November.
• Builds must be unique creations not related to any franchises or IP’s.
• There is no size limit on the build.
• Community members with builds that meet the criteria and are selected to be in a future update will be contacted by one of the Dev team from the “meet the team” post to arrange model transferring. Please do not share any personal information with anyone. The Dev team will not ask you for any personal information.
• Models may be slightly edited upon review by Tt Games if chosen for inclusion in the game.

Ready??? BEGIN!!!

We're going full steam ahead with update 7, and hope to have some news to share in a couple of weeks regarding what exactly is planned for it!

In the meantime, enjoy this update, and let us know as always if you see any issues at all!

Update 6; Patch 3 now live. 4 Player enabled.

LEGO Worlds Update 6 – Patch 3

Hi all,

We’ve now released the third patch for Update 6. This will include various fixes and improvements to the multiplayer code, so much so, that we’ve expanded the game sessions to allow for 4 players!

Here’s your lovely patch notes for this update:

    Major Fixes
  • Online Multiplayer now supports 3 clients to 1 host (4-Player)
  • Fixed a rare crash caused by client side requesting too many chunks at once
  • Fixed a crash related to raise/lower tools in networked games
  • Fixes to prevent bad data being saved in chunk files causing graphical issues
  • Fix for "Change Resolution" options not working / saving correctly

    Minor Fixes
  • Fix for player marker colours being incorrect
  • Improvements to camera behaviour when in vehicles
  • Improvements to camera collision with vehicles
  • NPC's should no longer attack the player when they're in menus

However, before we go any further, it is worth us noting that we are aware that when 3 or 4 players present, there are times where edits to the terrain may take a while to appear. It's something that will be solved over time, but as it'll take a while, we felt it's not worth holding back for any longer.

Onwards and upwards to Update 7! And what a doozy that will be too!

Many Thanks!
Chris
