Suggestions Megathread
Hi all,
We had a lot of fun with our previous suggestions thread, so we've set up a new one!
Head here to share your thoughts and ideas with us:
(Note; we ARE making an Online Multiplayer mode, so we'd ask that people avoid just commenting on that in the thread without saying anything else, just to help keep things nice and easy to read!)
Thanks,
Chris
Announcement: Update 4 Live!
Ho ho ho!
The final update for 2015 is now live!
As we’re going to allow the team the chance to sleep over the winter break, we’re not likely to have a patch available straight away for any issues we see people encounter. So with that in mind, we have decided to place the Update build onto a Beta Branch within Steam so that you can revert back to Update 3 if you need/want to. Here are the steps to do this:
1. Right Click on LEGO® Worlds within the Steam Library and select Properties.
2. Click on the Betas tab
3. Select the ‘Beta’ option from the drop down menu
4. Go to Local Files and click ‘Verify Integrity of Game Cache’
As mentioned in our teaser announcement, the major new feature is Split-Screen Co-Op! It works like this…
First, the short version: To have 2 Players on a Single PC, Press F2 to drop player 2 in and out. You must have at least one controller connected.
Now, the long version: If you have a controller connected, press F2 on the keyboard to drop player 2 in on the inactive control system – this means that if you’ve been using the controller, player 2 will drop in on mouse & keyboard, and vice versa. If you have an additional controller, F2 or START on that controller will drop player 2 using it, leaving player 1 as they were. F2 will always drop player 2 out.
It’s 2 players only, and you can’t have both players on the keyboard, or one on keyboard and one on mouse – yet! Also, if you find that the game is slowing down for you a lot in Co-Op, there are a few things you can do to help resolve this. The first is to try and lower the games Quality settings in the Video Options and Effects Options of the Setting Menu. Another useful fix is to switch to Windowed Mode (if the PC doesn’t have to draw as big a window, then it doesn’t have to work too hard, so the Frame Rate picks up!)
There are a few new props to find in some of the biomes, and who left explosive crates lying around? You know we can’t be trusted with that stuff! Make some noise, and wake up the world next door!
Next up, Brick Building has seen some improvements too. While a wider-ranging upgrade to the interface is still in development, the basic building controls have been improved. On mouse & keyboard, when deleting bricks you no longer need to select a brick to go back to placing – just tap the left button to return to your previous brick. On controller you no longer manually swap modes with [Y] – instead, just tap [X] to start deleting, chip away at the landscape without having to manhandle the crosshair into a brick, then tap [A] to go back to placing.
Still in Brick Building, we’ve also expanded the brick palette for those Master Builders out there. I lost count of how many so here’s a picture instead:
As usual there are a few new characters, creatures, vehicles and items to discover. In particular, try to find the awesome new weapon – it’s the perfect complement to split-screen and will bring even more colour to your worlds. Who will find it first?
Oh yes, items – if you’re playing on mouse & keyboard there is a Put Away button, or if you’re playing on a controller, you can now put your item away by tapping Down on the d-pad, get it back out with Up, and quick swap through all the items in your backpack with Left and Right. The interface update mentioned above will simplify the regular way to choose items from the grid, but these new controls feel great anyway.
There are some new quests to find, as well as those that unlock characters and creatures, a few more now have additional quests. But why is that Fisherman afraid of… oh!?
Just… one… last… thing… Check out the character customizer for a small festive addition.
Thanks for a great year everyone!
John Hodskinson

Announcement: Update 4 News!
…hey, Hey, HEY!!!
It’s about that time again, update news o’clock!
This will be our last update for 2015, and as it is the season of sharing and being together, it seemed fitting that this update should feature the inclusion of Split-Screen Multiplayer! Drop Player 2 in on your controller (or a second one), and start co-operating. You will play nicely and co-operate rather than just shooting each other, won’t you?
But wait, what’s this? More bricks for our Master Builders? Yep. Here’s a teaser of just a few of them, but last time I counted there were exactly “quite a lot” – we’ll reveal more soon:
So what else? - New characters, creatures and vehicles to discover.
- A fun new item to help bring colour into the world.
- An explosive new prop to play with.
- More additional quests.
- Improvements to Brick Building controls, especially on controllers.
- A proper way to put items away.
- A seasonal surprise in the customizer.
As usual, we’ll go into more detail and add a full set of patch notes when the update rolls out, so you can also check the issues that have been addressed.
Keep your eyes peeled for the update! Speak soon!

The Elegance of the Cloud Octopus!
- How to Tame your Cloud Octopus -
Occasionally on your journey in the clouds, you may stumble across across a cloud that has become home to a gathering of Cloud Octopus! These mysterious beasts seem to defy all logic, which is useful, because as a Square Foot, you tend to be a little odd yourself (you're up in the clouds yourself after all?! By the way, how DID you afford a Helicopter?)
It's a fun adventure for all those involved, though the scientists are still baffled not only by how they get there to begin with, but do they still count as a Cloud Octopus once they pounced down to the World below?
"...so you’ve been casually walking along and inadvertently almost bumped into a Friendly Land Shark. It happens. Except Land Sharks are not friendly, and will eat you up in a second given the chance. They’re particularly partial to Gingerbread, so you’re doubly in trouble buddy."
"Look at that blundering big fish go! Now you can kick back and have a jelly tot. And that’s what to do if you find yourself face to face with a Land Shark"
-fin-
... #LandShark #SillyLandShark #OMGSharkOnLand?!

Announcement: Update 3 is live!
Hello!
Update 3 is now live! So what are you waiting for?! DOWNLOAD IT NOOOOWWW!!!
Here’s a rundown on the feature updates;
Quest System Improvements Several Characters now also have quests AFTER they’re unlocked. This will allow us to author more interesting quests down the line and even allow for us to create random events that occur within the worlds. Perhaps you’ll find some spooky goings-on?
Updated Skybox A huge overhaul to the skybox system shows off much improved visuals during both day and night and sees a vast improvement to the natural lighting. From the warm glow of sunrise, through to the twinkling starry nights, your world looks drastically more alive. And fear not, the improved lighting is actually more efficient than the previous setup, so performance won’t suffer because of it.
Vehicle Camera Fixes We’ve improved the vehicle physics and sharpened up the camera while you’re in vehicles. The controls still remain the same for now – with options to come a little later – but these changes mean the vehicles now handle more like you’d expect when using WASD.
Fixtures and Fittings Does your house have a noticeable breeze/blizzard/volcanic burn running through it? Not sure we can do much about the last one without some industrial air conditioning, but for the rest there is now a selection of working doors and windows in the Brick Building tool! Time to renovate your existing models and make some new ones too! We’ll add more to future updates, and we certainly haven’t forgotten about other bricks, which will come in the future too.
More Varied Item Discoveries Tied in to the quest system, some item discoveries now make more sense. For example, we recently unearthed the shocking revelation that apples are actually found on trees rather than in chests as previously thought, so you’ll have to find a suitable tree and give it a whack. There are a number of other examples, but we’re not telling you all of them, that’s your job to figure out.
Brick Build Blueprints As well as finding cool items in big chests, you’ll now also have a chance of finding a blueprint for some super cool brick builds. When found, they’ll be added to your brick builds grid in the menu allowing you to place it whenever you want.
Picture Album Remember those pictures you took with the camera? Now you don’t need to go foraging for them on your computer, you can view and delete them on the front end.
Items Backpack We’re adding a very simple but much quicker way to get to your items. Like many of you, we feel it’s important for gameplay that we don’t keep them embedded in the menus any longer, especially now they’re becoming more fun and useful.
Minimap Update We’ve added a nice little feature to the minimap. If you click on it (mouse & keyboard only for now), you will be given a 3D overview of the areas in the world you’ve visited, similar to the preview when you choose your world on the front end. It’s great for tracking progress and finding your bearings!
Content There are several new characters (which are SPOOKILY relevant to the time of year), vehicles and props available to discover and unlock too. Make sure to consult with other players to see where they can be found – some of them are really quite rare!
We’ve also got a full Patch Notes to accompany the feature updates:

Forcing the Update to Download
Usually Steam will automatically download the Update for you as soon as you sign-in, however, if you have the game running already, or if there’s some reason that is hasn’t automatically triggered you’ll need to manually force it doing the following:
• Log into Steam (make sure it’s running in Online mode!)
• Go to your Library
• Right Click on LEGO Worlds and select Properties
• Click the ‘Local Files’ tab
• Click on ‘Verify integrity of Game Cache’
The download will now begin!
Let us know how you’re getting on with the new update in the discussion below! And once again, we want to thank everyone for their continued responses and feedback! It’s been very fun reading and watching everyone’s various comments and videos!
We’re likely going to roll out a small patch at some point next week to address a couple of minor Localisation updates and the odd tweak here and there, but we’ll keep an eye out for any majors that people find too and see if we can fit those in.
Finally, don’t forget, we’ve got a live Building Challenge on the go right here too:
