Meet your enemies

Dear Students,

Last time I introduced you to our pack. Today it is our turn to get to know our opponents better. As the saying goes: know thy enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles, you will never be defeated! So let us begin!

The first opponents we encounter are slow and not very intelligent cavemen. However, we may come across individuals who look like the gym is their second home....

The next stage is to prepare for an air raid! The enemies have wings, so you need to brush up on building the right towers to defend against these flying nasties.

They are coming!

The further we go, the more experienced our enemies become. The Roman soldier, the Greek warrior - they are armed to the teeth! But if we can destroy their shields and helmets, victory will be ours!

Just as our enemies came at us with spears and swords, the Middle Ages will see the first archers capable of damaging our Gervase base from a distance! I hope I can aim better with my slingshot than they can with their bows....

Attack!

I recently sent Barbara out to scout, and she discovered that some of the enemies have guns and ride horses - they must be very fast. Our Mikey may have a problem escaping, but rest assured... we have our trusty towers!

The biggest problem we might have is with exploding units. Once you manage to hit them, you have to be careful because the explosion and the range of fire are quite far! Remember to keep your distance and if anything happens, run for your life!

As you can see, we have to be ready for anything! In each era we will face different enemies with different skills. Let's stick together and work together, because the more of us, the better. You can also invite your friends to join you in this adventure by playing the co-op mode in the Lesson Learned demo.

See you in the next lesson

Meet our pack!

Dear students,

You have already learned about all the eras we will visit on our sleepy journey. Now that you know what to expect and how to prepare well to survive, it's time to introduce you to our team!

I think you already know me very well - who wouldn't know Frank? After all, I am the leader of this insanely brave group.

It wasn't easy for us to choose a team leader, but we held a rubber balloon making competition and of course I won! Everyone knows that I am unbeatable at it. I also have other qualities - for example, I'm a great slingshot shooter - I'm a bit less good at shooting on tests....

Our female warriors

You know Amelia, right? She's my best friend and our brains! She looks a bit like the history lady in those glasses, but don't worry - she's a geek, but not as boring as the teachers..

As for Barbara, she's the best scout I could find - and not just because no one else applied... She also brings us strawberry ice-cream and eats my sandwiches when I don’t want them !

Our male warriors

Maybe you had a classmate who dreamed of a career in sport, despite getting an 'F' grade in Physical Education? That's our Mickey. He won't run a marathon, but he's the strongest of our group and he's great at building towers!

Every team needs a strategist, and in our case it is Steven. He always has great ideas and draws well, although he is not very talkative. Sometimes he's absent-minded and looks like he's plotting something... He looks a bit scary then.

And finally, the finances of our gang - Christopher. As they say, a lot of money - not a lot of brains. He may not be very intelligent, but we complement each other very well...and he tells funny jokes.

Close-knit team is essential!

Even if we are very different, everyone has an important role to play in our group. Remember - better together! Invite your friends, create your own gang and try your hand at co-op mode in the demo Lesson Learned.

Get into the tank

Dear students,

Today we are going to talk about the last, but closest to us - The Modern Era! You'd better get your notebooks out and take notes, because I have a lot of information for you.

On our next dreamy journey, we will go back to the very dangerous times of the Second World War. Grey streets, explosions and dust floating in the air - doesn't sound encouraging, does it?

But before we go, let's put our helmets on our heads - after all, it's the most important part of our body! We eat with it, and what would life be without food, a disaster...

You may be wondering what dangers await us. First of all, we have to watch out for well-trained soldiers lurking around every corner. Phew it's a good thing we have Barbara on the team, she's an amazing scout.

Our history teacher also said that tanks took to the street in those days! I'm afraid a simple tower won't help us and we need to improve it a bit. I hope Steven will come up with something, his ideas are always good!

He likes to smoke. Let’s smoke him!

During the Second World War, we can meet many powerful people, but definitely one stands out above the rest. A big (literally) politician and leader with a penchant for cigars - probably only eating was better than smoking for him.

Sir Winston was very poised and was considered a great speaker. I resemble him a little in this, however when it comes to appearance our Mikey is definitely more like him....

We need to be careful, they have guns

This is the end of our lesson today, as I have homework to do. Prepare well for the next journey and don't forget to bring your slingshot! The soldiers may have guns, but we are smarter than them...As they say, practice makes perfect, so I suggest you practice shooting now in our
demo Lesson Learned.

See you in the next lesson,

Frogs and snails

Dear students,

It promises to be a very elaborate lesson. No, we will not be building towers this time. I will introduce you to the Napoleonic Era today, but before we get to that, a few words about the Renaissance.

The representative of the Renaissance is Leonardo Da Vinci, an outstanding genius, painter, architect - our Steven is also imaginative and loves to draw... maybe he will still be human?

Da Vinci invented many interesting structures, including war machines. We should learn from him how to build strong towers! I hear he also designed a helicopter - let's hope it won't be used against us.

They have the best Croissants

On a recent school trip we went to Paris. We visited museums and learned about French history. But what we enjoyed most were the cafés where we ate delicious, legendary croissants - even Mikey indulged in his diet that day.

I was very impressed with the Eiffel Tower. Ehhh... I'd like to build towers like that when I grow up. Just think - such a tall watchtower would surely beat even those ridiculous Da Vinci helicopters!

I’m not afraid of your baguettes

The history lady said that the Napoleonic era was a time of many wars. The French state was headed by a brilliant - but very short in stature - strategist, Napoleon Bonaparte (He he...Barbara says the name is more suited to a cat than a great emperor).

A fearless commander, he brought peace to the state and introduced many changes, but his greatest successes were on the battlefield. His army was strong and invincible. Probably because he fed them with frogs and snails, as is common in France. I wonder if they used baguettes instead of swords?

The school trip was very successful and peaceful, but when we return to Napoleon's time, things are not going to be so colourful. So take a look at the building plans created by the Renaissance genius, as we could certainly use some new towers to defend Gervase! Today's lesson was a little different from the previous ones, but I hope you are ready for the next adventure. If you're not sure, test your skills now by playing the demo Lesson Learned.

See you in the next lesson!

Knights and princesses

Dear Students,

Today a lesson straight from a real fantasy movie, which I recently watched with friends. To properly prepare for the next expedition, we must move to the distant times of the Middle Ages!

Everyone loves fairy tales about brave knights. It is from this era that writers and poets draw the most inspiration about princesses locked in towers, waiting for the arrival of their saviors.

I also always wanted to be a knight. I'm fearless like them, I know how to fight with weapons, my mighty slingshot, I even have my squire, Mikey! All I need is a princess to save.

I bet you don’t even know how to read

Society in the Middle Ages was divided into four layers. The highest-ranking nobility with many rights, learned clerics, industrious burghers, and enslaved peasants. Eh, peasant is always the worst in life...

People from the lower classes were not very educated. Apparently, only kings and clerics could read. Meeh... It is a pity that nowadays this skill is not enough to become a king.

Let’s knock his funny hat off his head

Culture and science in the Middle Ages were mostly subordinated to faith. At the head of the church was - and according to our catechist still stands - a powerful Vicar of God, the Pope (I wonder if his legs do not hurt from this standing).

The priest does not part with his cane, which he constantly supports, and on his head, he wears a funny, huge hat - Barbara says that the Pope does not know fashion and has no sense of style.

All these fairy tales about princesses and knights are not so beautiful in reality. Another dangerous adventure awaits us, for which we must prepare. Remember to build durable towers, because when they are destroyed, nothing will protect us and our base! Therefore, put on your armor, grab a slingshot, and jump into practice building in demo Lesson Learned.
