Life is Strange 2 is rapidly approaching, with Episode 1 releasing at the end of the month on September 27th! We’re really excited that the first episode of our all-new story of road trips, brotherhood, and coming-of-age is almost ready to land in the hands of players all over the world. We hope that the journey of Sean and Daniel Diaz will be just as great of an experience for you as it has been for us here in the Life is Strange team.
In preparation for release, we wanted to give you one last sneak peek at Episode 1, and tell you a bit more about the thinking behind the direction of Life is Strange 2. ‘The Road to Life is Strange 2’ is a short documentary about the making of Life is Strange 2, featuring an exclusive look behind the scenes and comments from Co-Creators Michel Koch, Raoul Barbet, and Jean-Luc Cano, as well as other key figures in the development team.

Dear Life is Strange fans,
You've waited so long for it, and it's finally here... today we reveal everything you need to know about Life is Strange 2. The first of 5 episodes will release September 27, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam)!

The main characters of Life is Strange 2 are brothers Sean (16) and Daniel Diaz (9), two brothers living a fairly normal life in Seattle, Washington state. Following a tragic event, their lives are forever changed. Now on the run from the police and threatened with both separation and incarceration, Sean decides to take his younger brother and seek a better life in their family's home town of Puerto Lobos, Mexico.
Life on the road is tough and dangerous. The brothers will face all manner of challenges as they bravely undertake a journey that will test the bonds of brotherhood. Playing as Sean, you will need to make the kind of tough choices you can expect from a Life is Strange game, and you will need to live with the consequences of your actions. The game will this time focus on brotherhood alongside the need to guide and educate your younger brother whilst simultaneously coming of age yourself. As with previous games in the series, Life is Strange 2 will tackle a host of issues that all of us can identify with and that will cause moral dilemmas and require much soul searching. These themes come together most powerfully in the way Daniel will develop depending on the lessons you teach him and the role model you decide to be.
We are also really excited to confirm that Life is Strange 2 will feature a new power. What it is and how it relates to the brothers is something you will discover in due course!
As Sean and Daniel travel towards Mexico, they will meet an entirely new cast of characters and pass through numerous new settings. Life is Strange 2 will also include multiple features that will be unveiled over the course of the next week, as we strive to deliver the most ambitious Life is Strange entry with the highest production values in the game series to date. Jonathan Morali, the French composer who worked with the team on the first game, is also composing a new original soundtrack for Life is Strange 2 which will be supported by a brand new licensed soundtrack.

Over the past few years, ever since the release of the first game, DONTNOD have been quietly working on the next mainline entry in the Life is Strange universe. During this time we not only observed what these games truly meant to our fans, but we also put that in the context of what the series means to us and our ambitions for it. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is the first step towards showing you the true potential of Life is Strange, and the possibilities of a diverse universe filled with interesting characters and stories to tell. With it, we have created a self-contained narrative experience that’s brimming with content – the deeper you dig, the more you will discover. While this demo is designed in the usual Life is Strange way and allows you plenty of time to explore everything, it is at the same time structurally different to previous entries. You will most likely see and discover new content on subsequent playthroughs which you might have previously missed. And there are some secrets that may very well take a coordinated group of fans to unravel...

Before the Storm's bonus episode Farewell out now!
It's a big week for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The bonus episode Farewell is out now and the boxed (Limited and Vinyl) editions release this week on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam)! The Limited Edition will appear in North American stores tomorrow, March 6 and on PAL-territory shelves on March 9. You can buy it here.
The Limited Edition includes a physical artbook featuring art from Life is Strange: Before the Storm plus the original soundtrack of Before the Storm on CD. That's all licensed tracks including certain Daughter tracks. A tracklist can be found here. The full OST, composed by Daughter, is available separately through their album: "Music from Before the Storm".
The release of Farewell signals a lot of change. With this bonus episode we're completing the Before the Storm arc, Deck Nine Games wrap up their foray into the universe of Life is Strange and we bid a fond farewell to Max, Chloe, Rachel and all the other fan favourites of Arcadia Bay.
We hope that the hard work and love that we put into Farewell will shine through and that you feel that we do the characters that DONTNOD created justice. Without knowing if or when we might once again see these characters, Deck Nine Games took extra time and care to craft this Farewell episode into something meaningful that will stay with everyone who plays it. The original voice actors, Ashly Burch and Hannah Telle, have returned to voice younger, more innocent versions of Chloe and Max as they embark on one final pirate-themed adventure.
But when a door closes, a window opens... or, something like that. We now look forward to the coming months, when Michel Koch and Raoul Barbet's team at DONTNOD returns to present the new story and characters of the next Life is Strange. Until then, Farewell!

Announcing the Farewell release date & boxed editions of Before the Storm
Now that the complete season of Life is Strange: Before the Storm is out we know many of you have been wondering about when the bonus episode “Farewell” will be released. We're really excited to announce that Farewell will be releasing on March 6th 2018 alongside boxed editions of Before the Storm, which will release that same day in the US and on March 9th in PAL territories.
As with everything we do with Life is Strange, we spent a lot of time listening to what fans liked and wished for, after we released the boxed edition of the first season back in 2016. For this edition of Before the Storm, we therefore created three different versions for you to choose from:
The Vinyl Edition includes an exclusive vinyl set of the original soundtrack; a physical artbook featuring art from Life is Strange: Before the Storm plus the original soundtrack on CD, all beautifully contained in an exclusive presentation box. This version will be available through the Square Enix e-stores and can be pre-ordered here.
The Limited Edition will be available from participating retailers and will include the physical artbook featuring art from Life is Strange: Before the Storm plus the original soundtrack on CD.
Alternatively, a Standard Edition will be available too if you'd prefer to have just the game on disc to add to your game collection. This will initially only be available in the US and will launch in other territories at a later date.
