In the very beginning of development for Before the Storm, we knew that Life is Strange fans were passionate and committed to the characters and world from the first game. We were confident that they would want to play as Chloe and meet Rachel. We hoped we could write and produce a story that would make them happy.
When Episode 1 was released and the flood of love for these characters washed over us. It was at that moment we finally, truly, understood, at a much deeper level, how important it was for us to get everything just right. We have all found that one person who changed everything for us. Chloe, Rachel and all the other characters speak to the pain, despair, hope and love that lives within all of us. It became vital that we honor our fans and deliver our very best work.
As Episode 2 was released we formed an even deeper and more meaningful connection with Chloe and Rachel. Fans by the thousands responded on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit - sharing their feelings, theories and their own personal stories. The private messages we received from fans spoke of despair turned to hope and new dreams of a better future in their own lives. This is the first game I have made that has meant so much to so many people. I am incredibly proud of the team and what they have delivered and am deeply humbled by the reaction of the fans.
Episode 3 is bittersweet for us. The story of Rachel and Chloe is coming to a close and just like the fans, we're not ready for it to end. We have grown deeply attached to this world. With great care we have tried to deal with incredibly personal topics and explored themes never touched on before in games. Thanks for taking the time to play through all three episodes, we hope you like what we’ve worked so hard to deliver.

Episode 3 Release Times
You may remember that for the previous two episodes of Before the Storm, the game was released using a rolling midnight launch on consoles and a single, slightly later, time on PC (Steam). Unfortunately this meant that many of our players were able to play the game only after spoilers for the episode starting showing up and being posted.
So for episode three we're doing things a little differently. This time everyone across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) will be receiving the game at a single global launch time as below.
This time is shortly after the first time-zones pass midnight on the 20th of December and it essentially means that the majority of you will be able to play Before the Storm early!
We can't wait to reveal this final episode to you next week. If any of your friends have been waiting for the release of the full season, do remind them that this weekend will be their final chance to catch up with everyone else and be ready to talk about the finale at launch!

Rhianna DeVries has done a fantastic job for the voice and motion capture of 16 year old Chloe so far, bringing a little bit of herself to the role, just as Ashly had in the previous game. We are forever thankful to Rhianna for the work she has put into Before the Storm and she will continue to work with us for the motion capture of young Chloe in Farewell.
As a reminder, in the Deluxe Edition’s exclusive bonus episode ‘Farewell’ you will be playing as a young Max Caulfield and this may very well be the last time that you will get to see Max and Chloe together! Unfortunately as much as we’d like to, we can’t say much more about it just now as the team is focused on completing the final stages of polish for episode three, the finale of Before the Storm.

Russian Localisation Mod Available Now
We are delighted to announce that the Tolma4 Team has completed work on their unofficial fan translation of Life is Strange: Before the Storm for PC (Steam). Instructions for how to download and install this fan-made modification can be found here.

Working with Afterlaughs
The artist Afterlaughs was very well known to us from her previous work in the Life is Strange community. For Before the Storm, we therefore decided it would be awesome if we ourselves commissioned Afterlaughs to create scenes of Chloe and Rachel’s life that you may not otherwise see over the narrative of the game itself, and these scenes will be released over the coming months.
They’re not meant to extend the story of the games as such, but are touch points for you to imagine what life for the two might be like. We’ve chosen #TheOne hashtag as a guiding principle for this set of images and we’ll try to focus on scenes that you (or Chloe) could imagine yourself taking part in alongside The One person who changed your life in such a meaningful way that their very presence defines that time of your life.
We hope that you’ll enjoy Afterlaugh’s work as much as we did collaborating on them!

We're extremely excited to today be able to deliver you the second part of our three episode season and further explore Chloe and Rachel's early days together. As their family lives continue to crumble, their friendship blossoms. It is during this trying time that the uglier side of Arcadia Bay begins to reveal itself to the girls…
Releasing episode one previously was a momentous day for us. We let our game, into which that our entire team has spent countless hours pouring our love and dedication, out into the world… We were fully aware of the privilege we were granted to work on such an amazing franchise and the responsibility to do the first game justice was great. To then see the overwhelmingly positive reaction from you, the fans, to our game was incredible and we spent much of that release day excitedly shouting to one another across our studio whenever new reviews popped up or discussion spread across the Life is Strange communities.
The next day we put our heads back down again and got straight back to work on episode two to ensure that it could stand up to the first episode.
We hope that you will agree that it does and can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it all and in particular THAT scene… ;)
