Update 0.6 has been taking some time to make, but that's ok! I want the Gamma belt update to be a substantial addition to the game instead of just another small update.
Gamma belt
So you've explored the Alpha Belt, with its planetary surveying wreckages, and the dense, icy particle field of the Beta Belt, scattered with data-relaying wreckages. It'll soon be time to venture into the Gamma Belt, where seed vaults were stored, which were ready for deployment following what would have been the terraforming stage. These vaults are passcode protected, so you'll have to do some digging around to get inside (or just hit the keypad really hard and hotwire the circuits). Speaking of seed vaults:
Farming overhaul
It's looking like there'll be 11 new types of plant to grow in Update 0.6. This will include some new plants for eating such as carrots, and some fungi to craft medicine. There'll also be new status effects that different foods can give you, such as feeling energised, well fed, and poisoned.
Airlocks (finally)
So for the past few weeks I've been getting airlocks to work reliably with the game's building system. You'll be able to create your own airlocks along with finding some wreckages with intact airlocks. While in an airlock, you can breathe without depleting your O2, and your oxygen storage will gradually refill. This also allows for an upgraded set of blueprints that will no longer need oxygen tanks swapping out.
Thank you for checking out my game, Sam ːsteamthumbsupː
Update 0.5.1.108 - Performance Mode, New Save Button, New Wreckage
Howdy Astronauts!
This update changes the following: - Changes the pause menu to swap the "Save & Quit" button to "Save". You can now save the game without going to the menu / exiting the game. - Added a new "performance mode" focused on allowing the game to be run on even lower spec machines. - Added a new wreckage that can be rarely located in the Alpha Belt. - Fixed items being stuck behind the net blueprint. - Fixed hydroponic solution visual jittering bug in the farm blueprint. - Optimised performance of the organics storage. - Added collision to the content of the Large Material Holder so you can no longer get stuck inside a full holder. - Fixed bug where debris in the beta belt would sometimes not disappear when picked up. - Updated the Linux Version (it's been a while) - Added a button with a link to the Discord, as some people found it hard to find. I'll put the link here too. https://discord.gg/mSBXyPhTwK come say hi :)
..aaand I think that wraps up this mini update. Just wanted to make a few changes quickly before taking the time to work on the 0.6 update. Next up, Gamma belt!
As always, thank you for playing my game, Sam :)
1 Year of Early Access + Equipable Upgrades Out Now!
Howdy Astronauts!
It has been 1 whole year since Life Not Supported entered Early Access and the newest version (0.5.1.106) is now out and changes the following: - Adds 11 equipable upgrades (Some craftable, some discoverable) This new system will give you more progression as you delve deeper into the game. Watch out, some have both positive and negative enhancements! - New Wreckage variant for beta belt - New debris type - Fixed the major multiplayer bug concerning progress not replicating - Other less noteworthy fixes
After fixing any bugs & issues that may arise from this new version, I will now be working on the next belt which contains what was left from the organic vaults. This means new seed items, farm types, and wreckages. Also as part of the new belt will be the addition of those remotely controlled blueprints I've been promising ;)
Thank you for trying out my game and sticking around for a whole year! Here's to many more! Sam :)
Patch 0.5.0.105
This patch changes the following: - Fixes multiplayer progression bug - Introduces some UI changes ready for 0.5.1
Patch 0.5.0.104
This patch changes the following: - Fixes unlocks resetting if the game resets / player dies before saving properly. - Fixes the possibility overwriting the unlocks file with fewer unlocks
This is just a small patch, read notes for update 0.5.0.103 if you haven't already :)
0.5.0.103
Howdy Astronauts!
The following update changes the following: - New storage blueprint, acts as a large version of the shelf. - Ferrous Lumps, Copper Lumps, Ferrous Asteroids, Hydraulics, Spools can now be stored on shelves and the new blueprint (finally). - Walls & Floors now take multiple hits to destroy (no more accidents) - Glass Corner walls now give correct refund materials - Co-op players can now see what each other are holding - Fixed the rest of the potential save game bugs
Now that this update is out, I can go back to working on the remote blueprint control system & player upgrades. No update countdown this time as this affects some major game systems and I'm going to want to ensure it's thoroughly tested before pushing out the update. Keep an eye on the beta branch if you want to try that out when it comes.
As always, thank you for playing my game Sam :)
Patch 0.5.0.102
This patch changes the following: - Fixes save/load error caused by the asteroid storm referencing a ship that had been destroyed.
(Another patch will be out soon cleaning up any other similar (unreported) bugs now that I am aware of them)
Patch 0.5.0.101
This patch changes the following: - Removes the potato battery incorrectly not being in the game.
Patch 0.5.0.100
This update changes the following: - Ships can now be split in half with the crowbar. Theres a few edge cases where the floor edges stick around (more noticable between reloads) but I'll have this fixed ASAP. In the mean time it may cause you to cheekily get some extra scrap when destroying floors but it'll be sorted soon enough and I'll made a proper announcement then.
:)
