How ya all doing guys? I hope awesome.

Let's get to the weekly news.

Weapon modification



We've been working on the weapon modification menu, now you can modify your weapon from the inventory UI. It will make inventory management and weapon modification even more convenient.



As you can see on the screenshot, now you will be able to see the weapon stats and a detailed description of all the modifications. In the future, you will be able to make an entirely different gun from the stock gun. Although not all guns are eligible for modifications, you will still be able to put some scope on them, but some parts can't be replaced because of the weapon construction. Work is still in progress, but we are getting there.

Outside of the news we've been testing the new sound engine, found some bugs, and fixing it right now.

Hello to all who are still alive, to those who are dead click the respawn button.

On to weekly news.

Danger in the dark



Our sound designer was making the night ambient sound, and he came up with wolves howl serenade. That was good actually, but very annoying. But then we thought that we can make the night more dangerous and make it more immersive. So now the night has a chance to bring you something deadly, and you will be worn about it through sound. For example, if the large pack of wolves is heading your way you will hear multiple loud howls. So better stay at the fire watchtower with your friends.
Although this feature might not come with the upcoming patch, we will try to make it happen. This is one of the ways that we are using sound to tell something to the player and there will be more. So listen carefully.

New level



Here is one of the new levels that our level designer was working on.

Weekly News #62



Greetings regioners, let's get on to weekly news.

UI



Here is the portion of the new UI that will come to the game with one of the upcoming patches. New UI is more convenient in many ways and looks much more representative. Besides our 2D designer is working on achievement icons. Can't wait to kill 10 bears for the achievement right?




Level Design

New level is coming up as well. Our designer is sick and tired of dealing with collision, so now he wants to bring some new levels to explore. We will share the screenshots once he has something for us.

What's next



We will run a test build of the game to make sure that we didn't break anything and once we are sure that everything is OK we will share this build with the upcoming patch. Note that there may be multiple patches, all features may not be included in one patch.

Welcome friends, comrades, and lost ones. Here is another portion of news regarding Lost Region development.

NEW CRAFT MENU



We are finishing the new craft menu and would like to show you how it going to look. Along with the craft menu, we are making a new UI and HUD. Soon we will completely update the UI.



SOUND, REVERB ZONES



Working on the sound is underway. Now the sound will change depending on your location, for example in caves and tunnels it becomes deeper and echo-like. Inside houses, the surrounding sound will apply a low-pass filter. Now the sound will actually help you to determine how close is your enemy, so better sneak-up.

OPTIMIZATION



Our programmer is working hard to make the game faster and FPS more stable. The huge work has been done already and we continue to upgrade our game to bring you a good product.

Weekly News #60



Hello survivors. We are back with weekly news. So let's not waste any time and go straight to the update.

Sound



We are continuing our work with sound design. In the upcoming patch, there will be more pew-pew, click-clack, and smash-bash sounds including footsteps, UI sounds, environment, etc. It will just the emersion level and also make nights scarier. So prepare yourself.

New craft system



We are finishing our work on the new craft system. Now it much more convenient and user-friendly. Besides along with items durability you will not have to waste the entire bottle of water to cook a soup, along with this new craft system items that have a durability state such as water can be combined, in a situation when you have two bottles of water that are 50% full ( I am the optimist) you will be able to make one bottle that will be 100% and one bottle that is entirely empty. Do not waste a drop.



Code Optimization



Our programmer is working on code optimization. It will get rid of some bugs and make some modules much stable, which overall will increase the game stability.

Yet again we want to say thanks for your support, with your help our game is becoming more awesome every day.

Weekly News #59



Hello, scavengers and survivors! As always a fast recap on what is going on with Lost Region.

New collision for cars



We've been testing new shooting sound in the arena that we've made precisely for testing and noticed that hiding behind the cars is actually OP because you don't know where the bullet will hit. After this test, we've created a new car collision. Now it is far more accurate.









Glass destruction



On those tests that we've mentioned before we also found out that some of the glass will stop the bullet completely, so we decided to make it destructible and penetrable. So now fighting in the neighborhood will always come hand to hand with the sound of the broken glass.


Weather effects



We are currently working on weather effects, visuals along with mechanics, such as temperature, wind, etc. Weather will add some dynamics to the survival elements. For example, that broken glass will no longer keep the warm inside the house/room, and you will start to freeze. There is a lot of work to do with this feature, as soon as it will be ready we will add it to the game.

Hello survivors! Hope you did survive the Holidays. Here are the latest news regarding Lost Region development.

Sound



We've implemented the new sound engine recently. Already had some tests, now shooting and all other stuff will change depending on the source of the sound and the listener. Besides sound became much more real and sexy. Along with the better sound, this new engine also allowed us to mix some sounds. For example, now when you got hit you will hear a random "ouch" sound, it is totally random you will hear one from eleven "ouch" sound.


Map improvement



As always our level designer continues his work on the map improvement. Here are some of his recent work.






Achievements



We are happy to announce that soon achievements will be available for our players. We will add them with one of the major patches. As a matter of fact, we already making new icons for achievements.

Hello to all who survived the Holidays. A quick recap of what we were doing during the Holidays.

The new sound engine has been implemented.



We have finished the implementation of the new sound engine. Our sound designer has started his work on new sounds. Some of the sounds will be reworked and some will be completely new.

Level improvements



As always the only person who doesn't sleep is our level designer and he is continuing his work on level improvements. He is always revisiting old locations to improve them. Here are some of his recent work.









UX and UI improvements



Along with all that stated above, we are improving our UI, making it more understandable and easier to use. Work still in progress, because along with improvements, the new UI is coming.

We will keep you updated further on. And we hope that this year will bring you only good things. :)

Hello to all who survived this by all means "greatest" year.

First, a quick recap of what is going on.

New craft system



It is already working, all that is left is to finish some polishing. Once all is polished we will implement the exp gain system to unlock all of the craft recipes.

New sound engine



Next year we are moving to the new sound engine, new ambient tracks are coming as well, along with new sound in all areas, walking, shooting, crafting.

Hi all, here are the latest news regarding Lost Region development.

Quests and in-game guide



We are working on the quests and in-game guide. The purpose of the in-game guide is to make it easier for new players to get into the game. To understand how to actually survive and not to starve to death. The purpose of quests will be to provide another way to get something useful and to give some other goals besides stashing all useful in the storage on your base.

Unreal 4.26



We are finishing our transfer from Unreal Engine 4.25 to Unreal Engine 4.26. Once it is done we will test all that might go wrong due to engine version swap, it will provide more game stability and some graphics improvements.

New items to craft
