Weekly News #159
Hello everyone and welcome to the new weekly!
Be sure to check the full weekly report following the link.
Track your target
You may remember that we've added a blood decal. And while on snow it's pretty visible where your prey is going, footprints do the work also. But in the forest and sand, it is much harder to find the guy or animal that you were hunting or trying to kill. We've already added the highlight feature of items that you can loot, and we've added a feature to highlight footprints and blood trails. It might help you to find your target if it ran away from you. The rule for this feature stays the same you will use your stamina and you will not be able to run while you are in highlight mode. Overall while you trying to figure out where the trail is going the victim will run further away, so quick thinking is key.
Transfer to Unreal Engine 5.1
Yet again unreal engine gave us a new update that gives us more tools to work with. That is counting optimization, and stability of work. Unfortunately during this period, we will not be able to bring new features, but after this and New Year we will continue to improve Lost Region. We are planning to complete the transfer before New Year, if there will be no unexpected troubles the work will go even faster.
Have a great weekend folks, and will cya next week!
Weekly News #158
What is going on? Weekly on Thursday? Yep, it is!
Be sure to check the full weekly report following the link there will be a screenshot of the new weapon/tool.
Explosions
Explosions are dangerous as a fact, but you may find them useful. We've been working on explosions in terms of how they inflict the human body. The concoction is one of the effects we've added, it would be very difficult to run, aim, shoot and see when you are under the concoction effect. Wounds and shrapnel are very dangerous and deadly. We've already added various wounds as effects that cause debuffs, in terms of shrapnel we've decided to make it more straightforward. If you have a shrapnel wound effect, your max HP will be decreased, it is not hard to get rid of the effect, but You'll need to invest some time in it. We continue to work in this direction, to make all effects and ways to kill more unique.
Screen, Camera, Shoot
Security is another thing that you might think about during the post-apocalyptic event. While for players bases it is more of a decorative tool, on the global map it would be a major advantage if you found security camera terminals. You will be able to see what is to come and alert your friends of upcoming danger. The other side of the medal is that everyone else, including NPCs, will also use those cameras. So you have a choice of getting rid of the, using them, or ignoring them (which we do not recommend). Overall we are implementing more and more tools for players to use. Cameras are one of the things that can be both advantages and disadvantages.
That is all for this week. And as always, see You all next week. Cheers! ;)
Weekly News #157
Weekly news everyone!

Trade
We are currently working on a trading feature, it would be both direct exchange and global trading. Direct exchange would be a very simple but effective tool to exchange something on the field. Although, we do recommend doing it near some safe zone because there are no guarantees that there will be no gunfire after a successful exchange. Why pay if you can just take it right? As for the global trade system, it would be regulated, basically, You will be able to place anything You have in any amount on sale, or find anything you want to buy. Any items will have a stock price, but most of the items can only be found. As a result, many players might have a lot of resources to spare, and you will be able to earn money by supplying other players. Other, more cunning players may use this tool to buy cheap and then sell it with profit.
Grenade update
In previous weeklies, we've mentioned the grenades work in progress. Right now we have Frag grenades with decent damage, flashbang, and smoke grenades to grant tactical advantage. Additionally, we've added a classic Molotov cocktail, or as we call it Bandera smoothie. This grenade is both deadly and tactical, You will be able to create a zone that would be very painful to go through and set on fire an enemy that is undercover. Also, we are working on mixing the grenades with other tools, for example, smoke grenades. Smoke is very unpleasant by itself, what if smoke was poisoned... That is a cliffhanger.
That is all for this week, as always have a great weekend, and will see You all next week!
Weekly News #156
Weekly reports is here!

Private Military Company (Clan)
As any online game, we need to give players the opportunity to cooperate. PMC is a private military company, it will have lots of usage in-game. Such as, by building PMC squads, you will be able to create squads inside the PMC and anyone from the PMC will be able to join it. PMC inventory, here you can donate the items to PMC and distribute it between members, it will allow you to boost newcomers and take something rare that you might need. PMC loot planner, owner, and members who have such rights will be able to use PMC loot planner, it will be displayed as a checklist on members screens (if they are willing to see it) and help the clan to collect those items. Taxes are a tool that will take some percentage of the income of every member (editable by the owner) to collect money in PMC bank. PMC raids, these raids are made for PMC, and they are PVE based, here you can raid special zones to collect items guns, and materials that are needed to upgrade the PMC.
Traps
Traps are a tool you can use to hunt animals and people. We are working to implement a new trap system, that can be hidden. For example, tripe wire, a very dangerous trap that needs only rope, and a grenade can be placed wherever you want, but it is most effective in dark places of buildings. Trap wire will be able to use any grenade that you have, smoke, frag, or flashbang to achieve different results. How to use those traps is up to the player, there will be no limits of usage so you can use smoke tripe wire and place bear trap as a combination. We will continue to expand trap usage.
Another week of development has been completed. As always thank you for your time and will see You guys next week!
Weekly News #155
One week, one weekly!
Be sure to check the full weekly report following the link there will be a screenshot of the new weapon/tool.
Grenades are coming
We have started to work on grenades. Of course, not only frag grenades, but flashbangs also smoke grenades as well. Due to the end of the world, grenades are not in production anymore, so they will be hard to find and very expensive to buy. Yet once you obtain them, they will give you a tactical advantage. Of course, it doesn't mean that only chosen players would get grenades, you will be able to craft them by yourself as well, they are not as good as grenades manufactured by military factories, but they get the job done. Note, that explosives may damage the area you are standing in, you may use them to your advantage, or trap yourself...
Recoil rework
We are starting to work on recoil. Implementing new recoil patterns starting with AR (Assault Rifle). The goal is to make it more constant so that players can learn how recoil works on different guns. First, we need to rework recoil patterns for all guns, then we need to make recoil changeable through weapon modification. Once we are done players would be able to find a gun they like and modify it. The recoil would change accordingly to gun modification.
It was a hard week, stay safe and we will see in the next week!

Decal upgrade
Since our players are major game changers in the LR world, we've added a feature for players to place their signs on walls and floors. One of the usage is to show other players that this place was already looted, and the other is to basically say "stay out". The usage is decided by the player, it could be a warning sign or a bite. For now, we will stick to the decals that we provided. This is a small step to let players change their surroundings, in the future, you will see how players can influence the LR area and decide how the world will change. Note that you will not be able to paint the whole map with your decals.
Physics upgrade
We wanted to create a more livable world, and what is the best way to create a living world than make death more realistic? We are currently working on game physics so that when you kill someone he will fall realistically. When you shoot a window it will go to shreds, when you accidentally or by purpose shoot the can it will fly off. Throwing the grenade in a building with a lot of small stuff will cause chaos and it would be much easier to root the foe out of the building. Keep in mind the word chaos, it will be one of the upcoming updates.
The game has changed a lot, and many more changes are ahead. Stay tuned and don't miss the next weekly round. Cya guys next week!

Weekly news round starting!

AI upgrade
This week we've started to work on AI. There are several things that need to be upgraded before we can proceed with factions and bandits AI. Right now we are working on aggressive animals, such as wolves and bears. They will be more alive in terms of response to danger, as a result, you will be able to get rid of them without the need to kill them. If you want that meat you will still be able to hunt those pesky wolves, but injuring the would be enough to scare them away. That applies to small packs, big packs are more aggressive, but you may use it to your advantage since they don't really care whom to eat.
More red colors
We've added blood, simple upgrade makes all the difference. Now if you find a dead body there will be a blood pile underneath the corpse. Also if you injured someone he will leave a blood trail, so using bandages is very important for those who are being chased. This blood rail will help players to hunt as well, not always you can shoot that deer with one precise headshot, and since deers are fast they can run pretty far from the shooter in a matter of seconds, now you have higher chances to find your prey. So as a result it is not just visual addition but also a gameplay addition to the game.
It was wonderful having You today. Have a great weekend and as always. Cya next week!
Weekly News #152
W.E.E.K.L.Y. news everyone! :)

Get set, aim, shoot!
We are working on a very small, but needed feature. The best way to train your accuracy is actually to shoot the targets, however, it will be forging in the fire. So we are adding a shooting dummy, but not just mesh which would be too little for any feature highlight. It will help you to get better at shooting because it will show you where are you landing those shots, and you will be able to trace the recoil pattern and master its control, it will also show you how deadly your shots are, so you will learn where to shoot to quickly or painfully get rid of someone annoying.
Small loot upgrade
You all remember that we indeed do have cars on the map. And while I am strictly forbidden to talk about cars as vehicles (wink wink), I can talk about cars as loot chests. Previously cars were a decorative part of the game, now it would be more valuable as you can actually loot cars. And unlike most loot storages, the car has several spots to loot. In the future we are also planning to add a disassembly feature, some mechanical parts and electric parts may be in handy.
That's all for this week, have a great weekend, and cya guys next week!
Weekly News #151
Weekly reporter, with weekly news!
Be sure to check the full weekly report following the link there will be a screenshot of the new weapon/tool.
Squad update
As you may remember there is a squad feature, allowing you to track your mates more accurately. With the new game system, characters now do actually mean more, because of the skill system and origin story of each character. And what is the most important part of each character? It is loot, with the upgraded and memorable map we are implementing spectating mode to the squad, so if you are dead you can navigate your mate to your body, which can be a trap, but it is up to You. Also, squads will receive an inner voice speak feature. Overall we are working to make the game in co-op mode more pleasant.
Level status
We are finishing the huge level, after which we will perform some tests. The level itself will be a huge addition to potential loot, point of interest, lore expanding, and many more great cons. The overall level brings over 50 new meshes of different types and different roles, additionally some interactable items, it fills the world map, which is reshaping as well. So right now, finish the level, test all things up, fix all things up, test again, and continue. That is our potential working routine for the next couple of months.
