I'm not too certain of where we might be going next but this should be the last update of the year. I want to thank everyone for being a part of this journey 💖 All of your feedback from the the beta, the reviews, the streams and all the help with the community - I deeply appreciate the effort and contribution 🙏
See you on the leaderboards 🙌

Tunnels Vol. 2
Greetings Tarnished!
It's been a little while since we've seen a content update so I'm super excited to share that we've finally got a new playlist - Tunnels Vol. 2!
Delve deeper through the tunnels into the dungeons, burning hot with deadly lava and fire traps on every corner! Expect the difficulty upped a notch from the first playlist with larger more long-form levels. While this is a shorter playlist (6 levels), I think it's an interesting variation on the original set of levels and doesn't overstay its welcome! Also, 2 achievements have been added and a handful of secrets are hiding in the new levels so heads up for all you 100%ers out there!
This playlist has been in the works for a while now so I've also been tweaking things on the side. Here's a quick list of things that were changed.
I've updated the Unity version with this update! I ran into issues with the input system in the editor which I couldn't resolve so I also moved from the legacy input system to the new one which somehow did fix the issue. The only downside is that your key configs will be reset and you can no longer rebind the fire button. I really wanted to get this playlist out so I'll get to fixing this soon.
Watching some streams of players going through the early game, I realized the progression and content gating can be a little bit confusing. The game doesn't leave any hints about how many playlists are actually available to unlock or if there's new content waiting to be played. Now I've made it so that the main menu shows the next playlists that are waiting to be unlocked. Blocked out playlists with a padlock will appear automatically so players know what to expect next!
It would also help if the game had some sort of "New Playlist Unlocked" popup, but for now new playlists which are untouched (no levels beaten) will have a subtle shine animation on the cover.
The Unity update should also address the collision bug where you'd spawn inside the ground. Let me know if we're still running into this issue.
Free Cam now travels through Portals!
There's a bug that causes time differences on some playlists if you're running on lower framerates. I've thrown in a cute Euler integration trick to address this. I think the differences in time can still be noticed but it does work to make it just a little bit less pronounced.
All Tunnels levels now have an end-level camera so the 3D stars/time UI doesn't clip through the level geometry if you walk into the endpoint looking up/down.
Hope you like the new content! Let me know what you think or if you find any bugs/issues! I'm really excited to start working on the next playlist, expect more updates and sneak peeks soon, but not too soon!
Also, did you play Elden Ring? You should. It's great!
Cheers
Hotfix 34.4
Lots of bugs identified, thanks once again to the community on Discord for working out the issues!
Holding the jump button in the Mountains playlist would not reset the jump count on landing so you'd lose the mid-air jump if you're bunny-hopping that way. Fixed.
Levels wouldn't start if the client is on native resolution and the cursor is on the edge of the screen. Also fixed.
If you complete a level on missing an enemy, a small label on the top right hand side of the screen will show your time for that level. I'm thinking to leave this in for now but later a log system or a dashboard for advanced players would be a better feature to have for more detailed information available, perhaps also tie in saving replays locally through that as well.
Cheers!
Hotfix 34.3
Hello,
The experimental targeting system in the Blink playlist that selects targets automatically in-range of the crossahair had a major flaw which changed the targeting as a function of the FoV. That bug has now been fixed.
This is a change that's not backwards compatible so the current scores on the leaderboard for that playlist may or may not be achievable anymore. But, I think those scores can still be beaten so we'll hold off on a playlist-wide hard reset till the Discord decides it's necessary.
The settings menu now alerts the player if they're trying to exit out of the menu without either applying or reverting any unsaved changes.
The field of view of the free cam now aligns with the field of view of the in-game camera.
Some users from select regions were seeing all time displays with comma separators instead of a period. So "4,99" instead of "4.99". This should no longer be an issue.
The start point indicator now shrinks when the Free Cam closes in on it to avoid intersection.
Have a great weekend! Please tell your friends about the game if you're enjoying it!
Thanks!
Hotfix 34.1 & 34.2
The grid lines weren't doing it for us so we changed it to look more like a camera viewfinder. There is also an indicator in the free cam mode that marks the start point of the level in case you happen to lose your way.
You can press the Look button (default "F") to reset the camera to the starting position. Also, you can accelerate the motion by holding down the Fire button.
Also fixed an issue where the arrow keys would scroll through the playlists in the background when the global leaderboard is up.
Hotfix 34.2 disables the Free Cam in Arcade Mode.
Thanks
Update 34
Quality of life updates, inbound!
The Look feature makes a return from the previous games, this time it's a free cam that you can activate before starting a level to explore the stage.
The key can be changed from the settings menu and defaults to "F".
Speaking of settings, you can now toggle screen shake on or off - for players who prefer to play the game without the effect.
The in-game UI now shows the improvement in your personal best time. There is also a sound effect that plays on queue to celebrate the occasion!
Hope you're enjoying the game! More levels are in development but will take some time to finish. If you find any bugs or glitches please let me know here or on our Discord!
Cheers!
Update 33
In a previous update we added a global rank system that awards players with a score as a function of their standings across all levels (including Arcade mode).
Crowns next to usernames on the leaderboard show your global rank based on that score. But there wasn't a way for users to check their total score, unless one was willing to do the math on their own.
With this update, you can now simply hit the global leaderboard button and view the top players right from the main menu!
Updates will be a little bit slow in the coming weeks because I have some other work on my plate right now. I don't want to make any promises, but let's just say I still do find the time to design a level or two over the weekend 😇
Hopefully I'll have enough levels for a new playlist sometime soon!
Cheers
Hotfix 32.3
Hello,
After the last update, a bug made watching a replay register it as your own score on the leaderboard. I know, should've checked that. But luckily the damage isn't irreversible.
I've pushed a fix to address this already. Some scores that were duplicated this way were erased. I'll run another pass over the weekend to identify more duplicates. If you can find any please let us know here or on the Discord.
Thanks to user DeltaEagle for identifying this bug.
Thanks
Hotfix 32.2
Hi,
Aimless hacking over the Christmas weekend brings us not only an automatic switch-off on the Santa hats and snow, but other neat additions in celebration of upcoming holidays this year.
I was going to just push an update that removes the snow and hats but decided to spend an hour or two on automating the whole thing so I won't have to push manual updates for each seasonal event.
Not something we've done for the old Lovely Planet games so this is a fun addition. If you have any suggestions for any holidays, drop by and say hi on the official Discord
