Update 42

Annnndd we're done with the new menus!

New game mode select screen shows all available playlists sorted by game type.

Each item shows a short video of what the gameplay looks like. You can select individual playlists or just jump in directly. A shuffled playlists will be generated for you from the pending levels in the game mode.

You can now also bookmark individual levels to keep track of the ones you enjoy and hope to come back to. These bookmarks will also show on the level select screen. Also, individual level ratings are back!

For those of you who prefer to stick to the grid layout, you can quickly press "P" on this menu to skip straight to it instead of scrolling around.

With this update, hopefully I can leave the menus for a little while and start shipping some more new content soon. I have a few ideas for new playlists with a mixup of existing playstyles. I'll be focusing on fleshing out easier levels for players who don't enjoy the more difficult playlists.

Thanks a lot for your continued support! Hope you're enjoying the game! Love you πŸ’–

✨New UI✨

Hello hello!

Spring updates are a go! We have a brand new design makeover ready in this patch that upgrades all the menus in the game.

The new UI supports full keyboard and controller navigation with a slick, modern, minimalist style. I felt the new graphics update left the rest of game aesthetically out of place, not anymore!

Main menu is revamped with a more standard layout compared to the previous version (the old options menu was a vibe, but it had to go πŸ˜…).

Pause menu nests the game view to give you options to quit, restart, upvote and view leaderboards etc. with a carousel showing all the levels in the playlist.

New leaderboard menu with PIP style replays.

The extra clicks required to quit the game would take some getting used to. Otherwise the rest of the game works almost exactly the same way in terms of controls.

This is an intermediate patch for another update I have planned that should release soon. While selecting between different playlists is a fun way to browse the many different game modes, I'm excited to launch a new setup that delivers the variety available on offer in a more intuitive way.

Hope you're enjoying the game! More updates and hopefully some new content soon!

Endless Mode

☯️ SCORE ATTACK ☯️

This is the closest we'll get to an Endless Mode β™Ύ

Every hit counts to your score πŸ“ˆ

Each slip-up takes away from it πŸ”»

The further you go, the faster you play ⏩

New playlists select the best levels from each of the legacy playlists. You can filter between the different types in the world selection screen by hitting the small ☯ icon.

Fixed a rating system bug that shows more than 5 stars under some levels in the main menu.

We've got a new major update in the pipeline. Considering a slight makeover/facelift for the whole game ✨ Maybe a new game mode? That's a maybe. Stay tuned πŸ’ž

Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧

Update 38.4 - Ratings Update

Ratings now display under the button on the level select screen. The number to the right is the total ratings submitted for that level.

Look forward to yoru honest ratings πŸ™

Cheers ✨

Update 38.3 - Rating System

I Rate This Update β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This update replaces the old Thumbs Up/Down system with a more accurate star rating system!

Really enjoyed a level you just played? Or do you feel it's not as polished as the rest? Leave a rating out of 5 stars so we can get more accurate feedback for each level individually.

To the side of the stars is a number that shows the global average. In an upcoming update, we'll also display total votes for each level and show these ratings in the level select menu as well!

Cheers & Merry Christmas πŸŽ„

Patch 38.2

C A S C A D E

Patterns in sensate experience reinforce an illusion of continuity.

The world comes and goes, but nothing really happens.

Thought is disturbance & emotion is chaos.

Time itself seeks to appease the mind that is focused and still.

Don't think, let go!
✨

πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ Let's TRANSCEND πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

We're all set for a trip to a strange new world in Cascade Vol. 1 - Armed with an automatic sub-machine gun, you're left in an abstract and fragmented world where obstacles appear out of the ether to construct the path forward. This playlists brings a fresh new set of levels with unique gameplay and aesthetic. Tough enemies fire a barrage of projectiles as you empty their health bar with your automatic making for a tight CQC style confrontation which requires you to be quick on your feet!

Two new achievements for completing and acing the playlist are also live with this update!

Shuffle Playlist

Other than that, a new "Shuffle Play" feature is included that allows you to start playing immediately from where you left off. It dynamically picks the last few levels from all unlocked playlists.

While it's not fully fleshed out, it allows users to just jump back into the game without having to make a choice on what to play if they're indifferent. A more polished version of this is something I hope to ship alongside a "Campaign" mode that will offer a more structured route through the game. The playlists will remain so they're not going anywhere.

I've also removed the grid and carousel views in the playlist menu in preparation for the campaign mode so hope you all don't miss those too much!

Joystick Sensitivity Sliders

Other than that, I've added separate sliders for controlling the sensitivity for joysticks for those of you who are using controllers and gyro. Hope this makes the experience more smooth.

I didn't get a chance to properly debug and fine tune this, so any feedback would be much appreciated!

See you on the leaderboards ✨
