Lucky Tower Ultimate Early Access now coming in September



We know you're excited for Lucky Tower Ultimate, and we want to deliver the best possible version on day one of Early Access. In order to do so, we need to take a few extra weeks to add the finishing touches to the Early Access build, and finish translating all our puns into multiple languages (we wrote a lot of great new stuff for the Village, oops!). The release will now be in September.

Stay tuned for the exact release date of Lucky Tower Ultimate, which we’ll share in the coming weeks!

Hello, you lucky adventurers, you! June has been an incredibly busy month for Evelius and the Studio Seufz crew. Here’s a little recap of everything we’ve been up to, and what we’re working on.

Lucky Tower Ultimate is Coming to Early Access!

In case you missed it - we announced that Lucky Tower Ultimate is coming to Early Access in August 2024. We released a brand new trailer with the announcement you can watch here:

Introducing… THE VILLAGE

One of our favourite German content creators Gronkh showed off some EXCLUSIVE footage of the Village in his German Indie Showcase! If you’re clever and talented enough to escape Evelius’ Tower, Von Wanst will be able to explore the bustling area and purchase items to help him on his next run. Get ready to explore the Village when Lucky Tower Ultimate launches into Early Access!


Final Demo Update

Lucky Tower Ultimate has been featured this past week in the Games Baked in Germany Steam Event, along with a demo update. On July 1st, the demo will come down in preparation for Early Access launch in August.

Demo Patch Notes:

  • It mainly includes bug fixes, aside from that there a some notable changes:
  • Door handles stay down once you enter a door, so you'll know which room you entered already.
  • Chests now have color-coded locks and keys. For every locked chest, there should be a fitting key on the same floor.
  • Reduced number of haircuts, for consistency with the Early Access release (sorry, more haircuts need to be unlocked at the barber in the future!).
  • Improved ragdolls for some enemies.
  • Some UI polishing

Lucky Tower Ultimate Coming to Early Access August 2024

We have some huge news that we couldn't be more excited to share with you: Lucky Tower Ultimate is coming to Early Access in August 2024!


Why Early Access?



We've been working hard on Lucky Tower Ultimate for a few years now, and have already received invaluable feedback from our incredible community has been critical to development.

As a roguelite with randomly generated levels, Lucky Tower Ultimate often surprises us with the many challenging and absurd situations it throws at us each time we play. This wide range of experiences is a lot to adventure through alone, so we want to work closely with our players to create the most entertaining version of the game possible. Input from the community will help upgrade the game to craft a truly ultimate version of Lucky Tower.

We expect that Lucky Tower Ultimate will be in Early Access for less than a year.

Closer to the Early Access launch in August, we'll release a roadmap of updates you can expect to see throughout Early Access development.

Lucky Tower Ultimate in the Endless Replayability Fest!

Today marks the start of Endless Replayability Fest, running until May 20 - and we've updated the Lucky Tower Ultimate demo for the event!

Changelog:

  • Vending machines are all over the tower, where you can buy stuff
  • Throwing items like the axe and the shuriken fly in a straight line
  • The magic wand also has a new and improved curve
  • Hub rooms (the ones with the three doors) now have a random layout
  • New Djinn behaviour and voice lines by Joshua Tomar
  • Evelius bossfight is different now, albeit still with unpolished animation
  • Riddle Master can have different weapons, his shield can be looted and used by the player
  • Shields work in the back hand as well as in the front hand
  • Hammerguy does not remain brain dead after killing someone
  • The pick-up indicator is a bit more clear
  • Some foreground decoration
  • One new trap: Contact spikes, that only move up when you walk on them
  • More screenshakes
  • Lots of bug fixing and polishing!

The Lucky Tower Ultimate Demo Returns!

Von Wanst makes a comeback as the Lucky Tower Ultimate demo returns!

During GDC, Lucky Tower Ultimate will be featured in Day of the Devs San Fransisco Edition, and The Mix & Kinda Funny's Spring Games Showcase, which means it's time to escape from the tower again (and again and again)!

The demo will be available until Monday March 25th.

Changelog (NextFest -> GDC):

  • A lot of bug fixes!
  • Easier to pick up items: They hover higher above the ground and small items are rendered before the player. You can now also pick up items with the equip command.
  • You can now meet every companion in any mood (sad/angry/happy) everywhere in the tower, not just trapped in cages.
  • You can now enter and use the tower's toilet (if you find it).
  • Banana peels leave a visible trail if you step on them.
  • It's now way easier to give Evelius items that he demands via thumbs up / thumbs down instead of unequipping stuff. That's also true for giving companions gold if they demand it.
  • Heal a companion suffering from poisoning by giving them food.
  • You can now wear armor as a monster.
  • A bunch of new helmets and hats! Colorful peasant caps, a heavy cone-shaped helmet and a spiked helmet.

Von Wanst returns for a new demo at the Steam Next Fest! Featuring more enemies, items, and trap rooms, do you have what it takes to escape the Lucky Tower?

New demo for Gamescom!

Hello folks,

we are part of Gamescom 2023 and thus you can play a brand-new demo of the game here on Steam! You can also meet us at Gamescom to play the game there at our booth at the Indie Arena!

New features:


  • Random companion "Rando". Sometimes you will find other (mis)adventurers in the tower. With this randomized companion, there are infinite possibilities who you will meet in each run. They all can be send into doors, like Hubert.
  • Unique companion "Sobu, the cunning sage". He has the special ability to tell you where the right door on each floor is located. He might require some bribes though.
  • Unique companion "Alva, the witch". She can give you potions, if you ask nicely. Also, she has a ranged attack.
  • New enemy: Wizard. He has a ranged attack too. Kill him too obtain his magic wand and hat, to become a wizard yourself! (Graphics of the wizard are not super final atm)
  • A bunch of new weapons: throwing axe, shuriken, sickle, blacksmith hammer!
  • New options available for brightness and zoom levels!
