We're super excited for the release of Mayhem in Single Valley, which is coming out tomorrow! Whew, what a ride it's been! Anyway, while you're waiting, we decided to tell you more about the most recent gameplay mechanics that we've added to the game.
Equipment upgrades
While exploring the town of Single Valley, you may notice strange individuals (who suspiciously look like yourself) stuck in some of the most hard-to-reach places. Those are clones. By rescuing them, you obtain duct tape: a valuable currency.
Duct tape is used to upgrade your equipment:
Trainers
- movement speed, swim speed, dodge length
Bag
- inventory capacity
Trash Can Lid
- trash can lid (shield) capacity
Slingshot
- range, stun, knockback ability
Alternatively you can use duct tape as currency to buy items from this…strange individual.
Oh, about those clones. They really like to appear in all sorts of tricky places. So it's not goint to be easy to rescue all of them.
Collectibles
Speaking about tricky places: your desire for exploration will be rewarded by discovering hidden collectible items on your journey.
We're super excited for the release of Mayhem in Single Valley, which is going to be out this Thursday. Until then, we decided to tell you more about the most recent gameplay mechanics that we've added to the game.
Hooch-covered items
Those who've played the demo may remember that each enemy in the game, be it a small squirrel or a giant rhino, can be distracted with different items—mainly food or fruits. Each animal has its favorite delicacy:
However, thes baits have just a temporary effect. After devouring an apple, the rhino will continue chasing you in an attempt to knock you out of your shoes. So what would be the solution to that? Cure the poor thing, of course! Enter hooch, the ultimate panacea that is going to save Single Valley.
You can gather hooch at dispensers that can be found in the world.
You can store hooch in empty jars. Keep an eye out for them. Usually they can be collected near the hooch dispensers. Once you've filled a jar with hooch , combine it with any throwable item you have in your inventory.
+=
Hooch-covered items are powerful…um, weapons? Not really, but they do the trick, which is letting you survive for just a little longer. Using a proper hooch-covered snack to lure away an animal or a human will permanently cure them.
Swarmed by crazed irradiated creatures? Create an ultimate item—hooch-covered dynamite! Upon exploding, it cures all creatures in its range.
The release of Mayhem in Single Valley is just around the corner, so we decided that we should warn you: Single Valley is a dangerous place. So much so that literally anything can kill you.
For our casual and totally fair 2.5D platformer, our team created almost a HUNDRED unique death situations. You must be dying to play the game after you've just read that.
🎞️ We've put together a video of 55 (yes, fifty-five) in-game deaths in a row ⬇️
